"Layered cake people are possibly the best, and are have most delicious personalities." She said cleverly. Her stomach then rumbled at the thought of a mult-layered cake with rich chocolate frosting, and those little flourishes of frosting flowers...
Sophia's mind flashed back to the present just in time to see Dante skip a stone into the water. It jumped a little ways before completely disappearing into the murky water below. He held out a rock for her to throw, and she took it hesitantly. She still didn't exactly know how to skip rocks, and didn't want to look like a complete fool. She felt the cool stone surface of the rock, and walked out towards the lake. "Well, here it goes."
She flung the rock out as hard as she could and watched as it speedily hit the water many feet away. It skimmed the water once and then it fell under. It wasn't as impressive as Sophia would have liked, but at least it got some serious distance.

He watched as she tossed the rock out, not noticing that Sophia was hesitant. As he followed the rock he noted how strong a throw it was, it would get a decent distance. But it lacked a bit when it came to skipping. Though in the end the stone was now in the lake, so the purpose was achieved. “Not bad,” he stated slyly, “try a bit more twist in your wrist and it should skip more.” He exaggerated the motion as he threw his own stone. But instead of skipping it cut right under the water and was gone. “See? Like that…only better,” he laughed.
He looked back at his guitar, content that he was no longer playing. Though he had finally thought of some music to play. “So my first fan,” he grinned, “play any instruments yourself?” As he asked, Dante picked up one last stone and let it fly, skipping across the lake it did not go as far as his first toss.

Sophia tucked that into her mind for the next time she was skipping rocks: "twist in your wrist". Good mnemonic device. She watched as his own stone sank after being released and she giggled a little.
“See? Like that…only better.
She watched as Dante flung another rock out into the Lake, asking her about her musical abilities. Her eyes lit up and she smiled. Music was something she loved to talk about. "I can play the piano and the oboe," she stopped, hoping he knew what an oboe was, "And I'm learning to play the viola. I can also sort of play the bass guitar and I hope that I could work up to that one," she pointed to his acoustic, "Very soon." She looked at the acoustic with intense curiosity, hoping that one day she could move up from the four-string to the six. "I'm actually more of a vocalist, really. More of a theatre nerd than a band nerd, as hard to believe as that sounds."
