Benji hummed a song that had gotten stuck in his head earlier that morning as he strode through great oak front doors to the beautiful castle that was now his home. He walked lazily across the grass in no particular direction, munching on a piece of toast he had grabbed from the Great Hall on his way to the fresh air outside. As he walked, he noticed a large, blue lake across the grounds and made for it, he spotted a large beach tree on the lake’s edge, sheltering a boulder that was the perfect size to sit on. He made his way toward the tree and rock. Upon reaching it, he clambered to the top of the rock and took a seat. After finishing his toast, he looked up, and saw what he believed to be a person walking across the grounds to where he was sitting.

Daniel was in another of his moods again. He was feeling awfully dark lately, for one, it was Christmas break, and lets just say he isn't the happiest person around that time. Pushing a bunch of first years out of the way, he headed towards his favourite place in the school. The beech tree where he could just sit down on the rock and chill out.... Except....
"GET OFF MY FREAKIN' ROCK!"
Dan said angrily in an obvious french-accent. His eyes narrowed approaching the slightly younger adolescent. His hands curled up into fists in fustration, as he looked at him through cobalt eyes. His dark hair caught a breeze, and he looked intimidating with the sun behind him. He pulled his cloak closer towards him, after all, winter was cold north of England, and he wasn't up to freezing his butt off.
Daniel just looked at the jailbait, waiting for a responce to such a rude comment upon first meeting someone. He didn't care though. Heck, he didn't want to care.
(ooc: srry about the language... meh Daniel's not happy)

Benji jumped startidly at the suden loud rude comment. He turned to look at the older boy with a puzzled look on his face, wondering what he could posibly have done to deserve such a greeting. "I don't see your name on it!" Benji called back to him immediatly, in the same rude tone. He stayed where he sat, glaring at the boy, wating for a reply. He really hoped that everyone here was not like this. Because if he could not stand it here, he had nowhere else to go but to his aunt Rita's house. He hated there.

Daniel crossed his arms indiginitly over his chest, nodding towards a small engraving on the side of the rock. Yep, Daniel had his name written on it, he was really bored lately and found it quite amusing that sparks came out from the rock. Raising an eyebrow instinicitivly, he said again rudely,
"I believe it does have my name on it, right over there."
The kid had spunk. It was refreshing from all those goody-goodies around the school just waiting to be called upon.
The thing with Slytherin's was the fact that they never seemed to leave new students alone. Daniel found it quite amusing to bug the poor guy, and since he was a good lier, he would never be caught. Leading back to the Love Potion incident. Daniel's cobalt glaze stared straight into the young adolescents eyes in hopes of piercing him in some way. They often did that, for the Irish seemed to be able to intimidate without thoughts. Even though Daniel was only part Irish, it indeed left its mark.

Benji slowly dropped his gase to the spot on the rock to which the boy had inicated. Fighting the colour back from his cheeks, he regained his inner strength. "Well, too bad, I was here first." He spat back. "If you'd like, you can wait there till I'm finished with it though." He was a bit suprised at his own snide remarks. He looked away again and tried to continue with his humming, but found it quite difficult.
((Benji's Irish through and through.))

((ooc: interesting ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) )) Dan simply rose and eyebrow. He hissed back, "I wouldn't be testing an annoyed Slytherin's patience." As he said this, his cobalt eyes turned a black in annoyance. "If you want to live see another day that is." He kept watching the student wondering when he would crack. For Daniel was intimidating, he stood at 6"1, and of a muscular build. He scared away most single glance, or perhaps a threat. Heck, he'd given out over 20 death threats over the past week, for he was one to enjoy another's fright and pain. Truly, the other student's cheek would have certainly landed him with a sock or two to the stomach, but Christmas often left people feeling lazy. And with only a few seconds of pleasure in causing another person pain, what were the pros and the positive out of such a barbaric action? Uncrossing his arms, he clenched both hands into fists and said impatiently through gritted teeth, "Bloody Hell! Move already!" His eyes began to 'melt' back into a blue. "My patience has already warn thin, and believe me, you don't want to find out what happens when I don't get my own way." How conceited...

Benji found it hard to fight back a laugh. If he had no common sence, he would bust out, but he wasn't that stupid. The other boy was indeed taller than him, but only by an inch or so. He saw the musles, but knew for fact that his were bigger. He'd pinned guys twice this boy's size in wrestling tournaments back when he went to muggle grade school. So, needless to say, he was confident that if they should get into somekind of fist fight, the other would walk away on a limp, or at least pretty bloodied up, that is, if he could walk at all when he was finished with him. He didn't voice any of this, for he knew that it wouldn't lead to a very happy or painless ending for eighther of them. He mearly stated calmly, after clearing his throat, "I don't quite feel like moving just yet," he paused for a moment, but not long enough for the other boy to respond. "that is, at least untill i find out why you are so upset, and what your name is." He now sat with a curious look on his face waiting for a responce.

((ooc: with permission from both admin for the fight. and Benji for the bits powerplay))
Daniel had enough. He had enough with this kids cheek. He had enough with his little brother sending him something that he knew that it would be sent back. He didn't want all of this bloody junk around. He said one last time, "Clear off..." But he could not take it anymore. "Read the side of the rock. And I don't need an excuse to be upset. I'm in Slytherin for Merlin's sake."
Daniel said through gritted teeth, "Now... get... off.... my.... rock...." Upon seeing him not move, he picked him up by the scruff of his neck and over to a tree. Hanging him by a few inches off the ground with one hand around his neck, he pulled his other hand out. "You pissed off the wrong person." He said through gritted teeth, not showing any intentions of letting him go. He pointed the wand at his neck, then back at the side of his head, as if contemplating where to hit the spell. He wasn't planning on doing anything, just threatning him enough to scare him away.

((hehe, thanks.))
Benji wasn't one of those kids that could easily be pushed around, and he technically didn't want to either. He felt that the position the older student was holding him at was easy to excape from. Thus, he began wiggling from this easy position to get out of. At last, he escaped from his position turned and threw him a punch. "Well, I got there first." He said hauntily, hurrying to take out his own wand.

((Don't mind her preoccupation with Dan killing people, she's just paranoid and terrified of him. -nodnod-))
"Oh Merlin," Belle breathed, as she came up on the lake from the castle. She had planned on climbing the only tree she could and waiting, just waiting for people to come along so she could observe- she loved peoplewatching, and for more than a few reasons- and what did she find? She found Daniel about to murder someone. At least that was what it looked like.
Immediately she ducked behind another tree. She couldn't be seen, she couldn't! If she was seen, he'd kill her too, for seeing him commit the first murder. Well, he might not kill the other bloke. Actually, she doubted he would. That was just a bit extreme, even for Dan. But she wasn't going to take any chances. Still, she couldn't help it, and stuck her head out past the tree she was hiding behind just slightly. Fortunately she was behind Daniel, so he couldn't see her unless he had eyes in the back of his head.

Daniel got what he wanted- a fight. He had been longing one for ages. He pushed his wand back into his back pocket, and hurridly knocked the other's students to the ground. Reaching for it, he put it too in his back pocket. Magic was just the easy way out, and really, he wanted, not needed this fight.
Daniel slouched when the punch hit him square across the chest. He had felt worse, much worse so he was back at him within a few seconds. He threw him a punch with his stronger left arm, not caring to see if it missed or not. Right now, he just wanted to cause him as much pain as possible.
"Well, as the saying goes, the early bird gets the worm, but the one after gets two." Yes, he was stretching the little saying, but he made his point. He really didn't seem to notice Belle, for his attention was directly on Benji. He really didn't care if she saw really.

Oh, this wasn't good. This really wasn't good. Dan had the other bloke's wand, which meant that, unless he was good in a fight- which he seemed to be, but maybe Daniel was better, who knew- the other bloke was doomed. Doomed.
What to do? Should she run for a professor? Could she without being seen? And if she did manage to find one, would Dan ever find out that she was the one who'd gotten the professor? That had to be avoided.
Could she stop the fight by herself? Not without resorting to her wand. And she'd probably have to use Petrificus Totalus on Dan, and surely he'd know it was her.
It didn't seem like there was anything she could do but watch- running could get her caught. Oh, this wasn't good.
Belle let out a terrified moan. What if Daniel seriously hurt the other bloke? (She wouldn't particularly care if the other bloke hurt Dan. Dan deserved it, in her opinion.) And then she went cold as she heard what Daniel had said. Oh Merlin. Had he seen her?

Benji was a bit worried that the other boy now had his wand. Now, he could only resort to strength, and gut. It didn't bother him much though, he knew he could take him. The last punch directed at him, hit him square in the jaw. He tasted blood. He didn't care. The other boy's comment made him angry, but he didn't show it. Unless you call smacking him on the side of his head, and kneeing him in the stomach showing anger. Benji desparately attempted to snach his wand back, but the other boy was too fast.

Daniel felt disoriented for a second there when the punch hit him at the side of the head. Shaking his head slightly, he continued at the boy. Stomach didn't hurt all that bad, for he was used to such pain. Satisfied that the bloke had to resort to the wands, he stuffed them deeper in his pocket, and shot him another punch square to the shoulder with his right arm, and then another to the side of his head with his left. He didn't care how much younger the other student was, for he couldn't put up with this any longer. They slowly were bringing the fight over to Belle, who was left unnoticed. But Dan would have surely been pissed if he found her eavesdropping... again. As long as she didn't fall on him...again.

This was just getting worse and worse. One of the blokes was going to knock the other unconscious, she was certain of it. And they were getting closer to her. There had to be something she could do! But what? Use her wand? Call out? Either would bring their attention to her. And she didn't know about the blonde bloke, but Daniel certainly wouldn't be happy, she was certain, to realize that she had been watching the entire time.
What could she do? She didn't know. And that was not good.
