As no murderer had yet to be found, the students were allowed out on the nice spring day for a little game of Quidditch. Not without chaperons, of course. Ryder had to fight a bit for this, but finally convinced the others that the kids could not be couped up for too long before they'd have a mutiny. It was only allowed, however, if the Ministry could place its own people about the pitch to watch over. This meant that everyone was searched for anything suspicious, but Ryder concluded that it was for the best.
Shuffling on his feet, the man glanced nervously about. He didn't think he had ever been nervous while reffing a match, but this one was different from most. Especially with Ministry officials practically breathing down his neck.

Drew was in the Ravenclaw locker room suiting up. He did the usualy equipment check, making sure his gear was working properly, but took an extra moment to make sure his wand was still accessable. After what he had seen in Hogsmeade, he wasn't going anywhere unarmed.

Aston stepped nervously into the locker room, not quite sure what he was doing. He could play chaser just fine, he knew that, but seeker? He had tried once, just for fun during a small game with the second years and knew it wasn't for him. The snitch moved way too fast for him and his eyes just never could focus on it for very long before it was lost again.
"Bloody hell," the boy muttered, slumping onto a bench. He slowly reached for his equipment, hoping Ravenclaw's real seeker would make it in time.

Brittany sat in the Gryffindor locker room gathering her self before the other players showed up. Fully dressed, she sat on one of the benches with her head between her knees. She felt as if it was only yesterday that she had played in a quidditch game. Normally she would be hyped up and ready for action-packed flying but today was different. There was a certain queasy feeling that captured her stomach and she was not in the mood for a game. She had a bad feeling about the day, about the game, a feeling that told her that something bad was to come of this. It was not at all good, but she pushed these thoughts away figuring that the murder stuff was just making her extra nervous.
Sitting upright, she looked around at the now empty place. With a long, winded out sigh the girl pulled her hair back into a high ponytail. This soon led to her process of pacing before the others got there. Shoving the nervous thoughts from her mind she concentrated hard on game strategy and plans. Until another lion pushed the door to the locker room open, illuminating it with sunlight.

"Game day..." He said lightly catching sight of Brittany almost immediately, and, no one else. The Slytherin game came flooding back to him almost immediately. He didn't need a repeat of that fiasco, and didn't want to have to make another call. It was a good moment, but it was also a moment where he'd rather not be in.
Switching himself into his Gryffindor robes, he took another glance at the girl. She seemed bothered, but by what was unknown. Unless she too was dwelling on the past. Then again, Ravenclaw was a battle hardened team, or, battle practiced. "Hey Britt, all we gotta do is play our best game, we do that we'll have no regrets."
His eyes shined with actual want, a want to be on the pitch, back int he hoops, back in his little box. That was his zone. Once he got in the air he'd be perfectly fine. It was playing the waiting game that would kill. What made it worse was the heightened security of the match. Ministry were everywhere and if one came through the locker room door he couldn't promise he wouldn't hex them.

"Pretty empty," Lily said quietly, as she walked into the locker room. She shivered as she pulled on her quidditch robes. She was glad it was game day - she had been upset she had missed the last one and this was a chance to prove that she was still part of this house and more importantly part of this family. She checked everything over once again as she got ready.

Scott walked into the locker room not long after he had seen blonde hair disappear inside. This was to be his first game at Hogwarts, his first chance to play a real Quidditch game since he left Durmstrang. he gulped slightly as he took a deep breath, he was nervous about the reactions he was going to get from his team members, mostly the reaction he was going to receive from the Captain.
The plan that had been broughtforth before was slightly altered by Scott. Instead of shaving his head and painting it, he had dyed sections of his hair the seven colors of the rainbow. he figured it would lift just Lily's spirits as she was the one that had told of the plan, but it had failed. Scott hadn't been willing to shave his head, but he'd do anything to get a smile from her. Very quietly Scott pulled on his robes and waited to hear the reactions.

It had seemed like an eternity while Deryn was waiting for the Slytherin vs Gryffindor game, but now this game seemed to come too quickly. Deryn wasn't entirely prepaired for the game, and she had heard that Ravenclaw was really good this year. Great, Deryn thought, now we're gonna lose because of me.
Entering the changeroom, Deryn saw Brittany and Corey already in there. She sat on the opposite side of the room, but greeted them when she enetered. "Didn't we just play Slytherin yesterday?" she asked sarcastically. Quickly changing into her Quidditch robes, Deryn sat quietly on the bench, trying to get herself in the game. She was having some difficulty, seeing as how they were playing Ravenclaw and was currently infatuated with one of them. This should be interesting...

Anna was really nervous about this game. Not only because they were playing Ravenclaw, who seemed to be winning all of their games, but because of the murder recently. She tried to get it out of her mind so she would be able to play the game without hitting one of her teammate's heads mistaking it for a bludger.
Walking into the locker room, she saw Britt, Corey and Deryn already inside. She greeted them and went to go change into her Quidditch Robes. Still worried about the murder, she desperatly hoped that she would be able to get over it when the game started. When she finished changing, she sat on a bench next to Deryn and waited for more people to show up.

Allegra strode into the locker room full of determination. Her hair was pulled back into two bright blue pony tails and she had grease paint streaked across her nose and along her cheeks. Despite the fall out that had occured the previous evening, she was ready to get her team back and fight for this cup.
She looked around the room and noticed half her team was missing. No matter. They had played with fewer before... and won. Her eyes fell on Scott with his rainbow locks and she thrust into his hand a bottle of the same blue hair dye she had used. "We will not go out there looking like a bunch of clowns," she said. She appreciated what he was trying to do, but was not about to have her team laughed off the pitch. "If you do it, you do it right."
Next, she went up to Drew and opened the tin of grease paint she had found at the bottom of her locker, left by the last captain. She stuck a finger into the goop and with a smile, swiped it across Drew's nose. "We're a team. And Lily and Kellen were right. Let's go out there looking like we mean business."

Drew had to grin when he saw the blue war paint and he remembered back to his first year when another head girl and quidditch captain had streaked it on his face. "Is that Tar's stuff?" he asked holding his hand out to Scott, indicating he'd do the hair stuff next.

"What are we doing?" Aston perked up slightly as the rest of his team started gobbing blue stuff over their faces. He found it rather curious. Fans usually painted themselves, but the teams? He didn't think so. At least it would help him feel a bit better and more a part of the team.

Allegra grinned back at her brother, answering him in the affirmative. She took a step over and looked at young Mister Wallace, holding a gooped finger up in front of him and raising her eyebrow as if asking his permission to swipe it on his face. "When I started Hogwarts, our Captain was Tariyar and when we were feeling a little upset and needed to pull together, she'd bring out her war paint. She left school my fourth year, but I think it still has some of her spirit in it."

Brittany's eyes stared attentively at the row of benches as if they held world class game plans that had never been seen before. As everyone walked in she paid attention to no one really. This was because her mind was stuck on what Corey had said when he had entered. She knew he was right. Of course, these days he seemed to be getting things right all of the time. They had to play their absolute best no matter how many losses or wins or mistakes they had. Ravenclaw was a good team and if they weren't completely focused and trying they would surely do themselves in.
Taking a deep breath, she put on a confident face. There was nothing going to cloud her thoughts today, especially nothing about the past or about the murder. Besides, they were going to be highly protected and she was ever so glad to be out of the blasted castle. Brittany had begun to thought that they wouldn't let them out for the rest of their school future. As if an echo of what Deryn had said had just reached her ears she replied, "Better to be out here then stuck up there all day..." She indicated up towards the castle as she spoke, a warm smile on her face.

Their Captain seemed to regain her composure pretty quick, something he could only smile to as he on the other hand walked toward the exit door. His ears continued to listen and here as Deryn, and Anna entered. It was also about this time a sudden realization hit him. He was, the only male on the actual Gryffindor team, sure they had alternates but. Wow, he suddenly felt extremely outnumbered.
His element was mere yards away, three hoops stuck on three poles, him, and a broom, that was all he needed. And while it didn't seem like much it kept him in a decent mood. And while he feared Ravenclaw as they had practiced a good double what they had, he wanted and openly invited the challenge. Nothing beat a test of skill.
"Game day..." He muttered again as he now cracked the door. "I'll...see you guys on the field..." He said quietly as he took about ten steps outside and simply stood there, broom in hand. He couldn't balk now, in that locker room he had nay chance to put an alternate in, he was on the field now, this prevented him from going back, from second thoughts.
