He had the courage to not only repeat it, but support it with cause. Perhaps there was no need to make as much of a deal out of this as he had first thought.
"Mr. Rolen. Getting into my NEWT class, is not a problem, remaining in it is. I will expect more from all of you this year than in the past. My handywork should be of no importance to you, nor do I believe it is, as you never seemed to care a lick about it before now." He paused. "Besides Mr. Rolen. You're smirking, you don't smirk if you enjoy something."
It was going to be a long class, a long year (providing he remained that long). But, the more he dawdled on the Hufflepuff boy's attituded, the less time he had to get through this particular lesson. "Now then, enough time wasted, lets begin shall we? As by now I'm sure you've all noticed the vine-like plant before you (if you bothered to read my first post). Can any of you name it?" He questioned, having purposely left name tags out of the plant's soil.
(Posting an entrance through the doors from this point onward is a late.)

Arianna stood up to get a good look at the plant. Though she was certain she had seen it in her books, the name had escaped her suddenly. The girl's eyes, curiously, travelled over to the 'polite' Huffle, expecting him to answer if no one else could. No reason for her to have a little fun before then, though.
"Did they name it after you, sir?" she questioned, speaking in a voice somewhere between flattery and clear jokery. "They should, sir."

Krissy didn't know the answer either, she wasn't exactly the best at Herbology and though she didn't mind it that much she still didn't like it that much. She had watched the scene unfold with Mike and the professor and she thought suddenly that she owuld need to talk to Mike about conduct in class, how else were they supposed to win the house cups if he acted up in class, then she realised she wasn't prefect any more and that it wasn't up to her any more. She grinned. She could tell Pat to do it instead.
At the professor's question she knew she didn't know the answer and had heard Ari answer. "Is it called Steve?" she asked in a joking tone with a grin. It was obvious she was being silly, but not in a rude kind of way.

Mike knew the answer as he had already read ahead on the course schedule for this year, but he chose to keep quiet for once, and pulled out his books and started to get prepared to take notes.
Just in case they were required to.
Then his thoughts when back to what had just happened between him and the Professor....had the Professor actually not taken points off his house.

Dean still had a light smirk on his face as Mike and the Professor ' talked '. It was rather funny how the Huffle thought he could pull off a smirk... Dean considered that a Slytherin trait, himself. But to each his own. When the Professor asked what they were to be studying Dean raised his hand and said, " I think Steve would be a better name for it but it's Gurdyroot. " He said with a laugh, giving the name of the plant a go. It would be more interesting to call it Steve. And possibly easier?

The Hufflepuff boy's thinking actually had been correct. He had not taken off points, as it was the beginning of the year after three months of doing whatever they wanted within reason. One had to get used to the routine off orders and obeying again, as well as not getting out of line.
"I'm not that lucky, nor would I want a plant named after me, and no, Miss Flemming it is not names Steve." Robert responded, though clearly amused from it all. "Mr. Quinn over there actually has it correct. The Gurdyroot, is a vine like plant that can grow if supported up just baout any surface, thus making it like any other vine a from of death for trees if left untended to." He figured he would give them a moment to talk or take notes as he knew only those with an interest of plants were paying attention to him anyway. And to be rightly honest, he wasn't even sure who of them was interested

"Oooo, so it's one of those that suffocates other plants," Arianna piped up before turning to her parchment. She didn't take notes like most might. Nope, the girl never was good at it and found she made herself more confused about the subject if she did so. Today's 'notes' included a nice jot of the plant, which was half-finished already and would soon be murdering a nice elm once she was through drawing it, and a few words to later jog her memory.

When she first arrived, Gail had been stumped as to the name of the plant at the front of the room. However, Dean quickly identified it as Gurdyroot. The name jogged something in her memory, and she struggled to remember. As she struggled to remember, Gail saw over Ari's shoulder to the notes her fellow Ravenclaw had taken. Sprawling over the page was a half-finished drawing of a Gurdyroot attacking a tree.
Gail looked up. "Professor, how fast does Gurdyroot grow?"
She was unsure if this was the elusive reference, but she wondered if the root could cover a castle in the course of a hundred years.
