Drew looked over at his sister, knowing exactly what she was thinking. Her friendship with Krissy was making her think of evening up the teams... sitting out a Ravenclaw Beater... sitting out him. But that competitive Thornton streak was arguing that this was all part of the game and playing a player short was definitely better than keeping a weak link in the chain. While Krissy sorted out her insurgent team members, he sidled up to his sister.
"We won every game last year playing a player short... sometimes two. If anyone else can do it, Huffle can," he whispered. "Besides, Krissy would throw a fit if she thought you were trying to play easy on her."

Allegra frowned back at her brother, first of all, for pretending that he knew what she had been thinking, and second of all for being right. In a game this well matched, it would come down to the seekers. Without answering her brother she jumped on her broom and took off. "LET'S GO TEAM BLUE! WE CAN DO THIS!"

Talia was glad at what Krissy said. Although she was a great Beater, she just wasn't cut out to be a Chaser, she could never grip the Quaffle as good as she did her bat. She didn't bother looking at Mike now, glad she got to keep her position, and thought Mike was just being a dolt since he didn't get Co-Captian. She smiled at Krissy, and nodded, "And Beater I'll be." She said, getting on her broom as Ryder blew the whistle. She knew there was a lot of pressure on her now as she was the only Beater, and was willing to work with Mike, as long as he was willing to work with her.

Beni's commentary had fired up well into the game, her pauses usually coming from the fact that she was frothing from so much talking. She would have to remind herself to bring water next time.
"It's a showdown here on the pitch. Shriver and Nollet have both spotted the snitch and they're trekking down for it. We'll come back to them when-- OH! Close bludger brought to you by Fleming! Shriver almost takes it for lunch, but it looks like she's not hungry. She makes a sliver of a dodge to miss it.
"Miss Thornton's back with the quaffle, but it seems like Rolan's trying to give her a good surprise by going below her. Luckily for Miss T over there, she's holding a grip, and... is that a kick? All or nothing, it seems.
"Now Miss T's nearing the goal... she makes the pitch-- her eye on the center-- Harrison makes a fumble of a block, but she blocks it nonetheless. Good goi--What's that? Blimey! Harrison's fumble of a block has just cost her some dear pain. She's looking normal, or at least trying...
"Hear that, kids? Our great and most beautiful--AHEM-- Uh.... Our ref Hailey has just called out a time out. Ah, Miss T's called it, I wonder why... Wait... is this for the Huffle's benifit? What a darling you are, Miss T." Beni craned her neck to get a better look to see what the action was down on the pitch.
"Well, lookie here! Ravenclaw's Mr. T and Hufflepuff's Rolan doesn't look too keen on each other. Can't we get along? Harrison's down, and her test run doesn't look like it's up to standards. Rolan--Bloody-- Rolan's walked out! What does the Huffles say to that?"
Beni paused as she watched them figure out the next play. "Shame for Harrison, having to go out mid game. That's okay, love. It happens to all of us. At least you've got some support from your fellow Hufflepuffs! Hiya Ivy!
"Wow, Harrison must have used some kind of banishing or summoning magic, because Rolan's back in the game, flying high it looks. With the badger's back in business minus one, it looks like Captain Fleming's going to have to move some things around. Here we go again! Up in the air, loves! Fleming's taking Harrison's place as keeper while Saphire's left to rough it out with the Ravenclaw's beaters. How will this go now? Will Hufflepuff make it without their starting and rather promising keeper? Or will Ravenclaw stumble?"

Pat stood by as Krissy and the others took care of the situation. He agreed with Krissy; Nessa was just too injured to be playing Keeper. He just hoped that they'd be able to play with one less Beater than normal, as Krissy was taking over Keeper. WOuld Talia be able to make up the difference? Hopefully, the answer was yes.
Pat took off again when Hailey blew the whistle to start the game again. He heard Krissy's shouts, especially the one directed at him "Hey Pat! I need ya to try and catch the snitch as soon as possible, if we ever needed it caught quickly, now is when!" Pat bit his lip as he flew around the pitch, looking for the Golden Snitch. Pat knew he would have to find it soon, or Ari would first. Pat wasn't sure if another head-to-head with Ari would succeed, not with his arm sending him random jolts of pain. He'd be able to get it easy enough if Ari wasn't nearby, but another face-off? That would be hard to deal with...

Now that she was back up in the air, Arianna flew up above the highest tiers of the pitch and gazed across the grounds toward the school, watching the small figure of the Hufflepuff's keeper head into the building. Before long, though, she realized she needed to get back to the game. There was no way she was going to let Pat get the snitch without a good fight.
Turning her broom around, the Ravenclaw seeker dropped a few feet and started her search for the snitch again. If she'd been a bit faster earlier, the game would have been over with already. She'd just have to try a bit harder and get it before anyone else got hurt.
