(Okay since I started half way through the year last year, and didn't really get that far into teaching... anything I've decided that I don't remember them actually learning conjuring in the books, so it must be done in 7th year. And after checking Conjuring is NEWTS level good enough for me.)
First class of the year, and of course the most advanced. This would be the year that they learned some of the hardest transfigurations, and the later on, how to use it when in a duel. Then they would spend the last part of the year reviewing for the NEWTS. But that thought was long from Devin Brady's mind. No the ragged looking man sat staring into space, too tired to waste energy thinking before class, he would need all the energy he had to make it through the day. And it was a long one at that.
Last night had been another tiring night, with minimal sleep, the bags under his eyes were proof of that. That was of course only one of the many things wrong with the Professors appearance. To add on to that, were his wrinkled clothes, his greasy hair, and his obvious need for a shave. All his energy was obviously spent on other things, things some might deem more important than his job. But that was his own business, and now wasn't the time for it. No now was the time for Transfigurations, and Transfigurations was what he would think about.
Of course it was important for him to think about this lesson, it was the most difficult lesson out of them all, well of all the days classes. But then again it was an important one in general. Today they would be breaching conjuring, and conjuring was one of the most used forms of Transfigurations. It was both useful in everyday life, and also useful in many dangerous situations, so it would obviously need time to perfect. But until that time he would sit and wait patiently for his class.

Drew dragged himself to class, not particularly wanting to be there for oh so many reasons, but the biggest one being that he had spent much of the previous night messing around in the common room, trying to figure out a way to mess with the girls this year. Seeing that it was his last year at Hogwarts, he figured it should be something massively impressive.
He greeted the professor with a silent smirk and took his seat, really having nothing to say to the man behind the desk. There were probably a number of things he should be speaking to Brady about, but Drew really didn't feel the need to. When the time was right, then he'd discuss that stuff with him.
Without a word, he took out his books, his notes, his one of the quills from his back pack that hadn't already been broken. Drew wasn't exactly sure what Brady had planned for the class, but maybe it would be something interesting. Even if it wan't, the review wouldn't hurt any.

Walking one foot in the class, Alexander scented something in the air that when he looked around could only be coming from the Professor. Alexander wasn't sure if it was or not, it could have been just is imagination, however, with the way the man looked...Alexander's skin crawled and he felt as if the two showers he had taken that day had done absolutely nothing for him. He tried his best to keep his stomach from churning and his skin from hiving up, but he couldn't help it. It began with an itch on the back of his neck, as it always did for the Huffle Prefect.
Taking a seat in the furthest spot he could in the back, as if to be as far away from the grungy and dirty professor as possible, Alexander sat down and took out his stuff, trying to distract himself from how he was feeling. Again, he scratched at the back of his neck, his skins oils collecting beneath his nails and sweat started to form on his brow. After this class, he'd have to take a shower to release the new stress...Alexander was just hoping that it would go quickly, let alone with as much of his attention to the lesson that he could muster.

Of all the classes she was taking, Layla considered Transfiguration to be among the most difficult. She knew that in this class, theory only got you so far. Her wandwork was what had to get her through, and it was exactly what she was worried about. She stepped into the room and quickly scanned her surroundings, finding it mostly empty. She saw the person at the front of the room, who she presumed was the Professor. It took a bit of will power to keep herself from making a face. She looked over at Drew, who seemed completely unaffected.
Taking her cue from him, she merely chose a seat nearby, considering the man's state only in her mind.

First day back with classes and it seemed all ready Seanna had a mountain of things to do with limited time to achieve them all in. If Seanna was to be honest with herself, it was of course, her own fault for taking on too much than she could handle. And while some things could be taken off her list, others couldn't and it was those important things that she needed to check up on right away.
Now was not the time to start panicking on her list of things to do, not when she was stepping into the Transfiguration classroom. This class demanded Seanna to stay focused on what the Professor was teaching them, or mistakes would surely follow. Brown eyes darting towards the front, she spotted the Professor all ready there. Looking at his appearance, Seanna assumed that the Professor Brady was having a bad day and hadn't had time to look in the mirror just yet.
That however, was none of her concern. All though, Seanna had pondered with the idea of going up and asking the Professor if he was all right, Seanna felt that wasn't her place to do so. Turning her brown eyes away from the Professor, they now fell on Alexander up the back of the class. Taking quick steps through the classroom, she sat down in the empty seat next to him. "Hi" Seanna said quietly, while she threw a smile at Alexander. "Do you think he's okay?" the Huffle asked Alexander, keeping her voice as low as possible and moving her eyes upwards towards the Professor again.

In the Hufflepuff's opinion, Transfiguration was actually a rather interesting class. The theory was interesting and the actual practice was rather fun. Caleb knew people would give him the strangest looks if they actually knew his feelings on the class, but it didn't bother him. Caleb liked school, he was good at it. He wasn't a genius, but he wasn't an idiot either. Caleb knew there were things he was good at and school was one of those things. And as he entered the classroom, that thought was shoved out of his mind at the sight of the professor. The Hufflepuff gave him the once over and then turned away before he caught the man's eye. Caleb had nearly asked what was wrong, but he changed his mind and walked silently to an empty desk.

Three Huffles, two Ravens. Drew smiled and nodded at each one as they entered the room, but the others seemed more concerned about the man behind the desk. Drew really didn't give a knut's worth why he looked like a bum. Brady's appearance only confirmed the Ravenclaw's already low opinion of the guy.
Thinking the class was too quiet and figuring Brady would be better served sleeping it off in his quarters anyway, Drew flicked a wad of crumpled parchment at Layla in the hopes of getting her attention. He wasn't sure what he'd do once he got it, but he was bored.

If the man was Ok or not, wasn't any of Alexander's concern or business, but what was were the newly forming hives on the back of his neck. He was sure he was red and blotchy, and by the time Seanna came by and smiled at him, he had a very hard time returning it. "I don't know," he said with a shrug, still scratching his neck and hoping that Seanna wouldn't notice.
The previous year, in order to help her see that he did trust her, Alexander had told Seanna about his skin condition, what the doctors said about it, and then he had showed her his 'beauty products'. What he hadn't told her was really how bad the situation was. Alexander slightly mentioned how it was a bit of a concern he had, but he never once told her it was an obsession. Diagnosed with OCD about keeping himself clean to the extreme that even seeing someone who did not bothered him. Alexander was his own little freak, but if he were really normal...would he have been sorted into Hufflepuff?
"I just can't wait for the class to be over," he said, then scratching the base of his jaw line slightly. "I think I need a shower..." he said, hoping his Prefect partner-in-crime didn't see or know that he had already taken two that day.

Seanna sniffed the air for a bit and the Huffle girl could not smell anything awful coming from where Alexander sat next to her, besides what smelt like soapy freshness and some kind of smelly shampoo. "No, you smell okay" Really, he did and she couldn't smell anything bad from him and the only really bad smell she could smell in the classroom, was bad body odor and Seanna knew that in no way possible that it could be coming from Alexander.
The trust that Seanna had for Alexander had came back a bit when he told her about his skin condition the year before, but truth be told, Seanna already guessed something was wrong with his skin from their first encounter in the owlry. Seanna couldn't help it, however much she tried not to help it, but Seanna was still apprehensive about Alexander... she just hadn't figured out why yet.
Though, the girl did know of his skin condition and knew that anything could set his skin off. Brown eyes looking at Alexander, Seanna watched him scratch away at his jaw. "Is it the smell that's affecting you?" Seanna asked, quitely whispering her question to Alexander while hoping that no one else could hear her. If that really was the case, maybe all he needed was a nicer smell to offset the bad smell, the Huffle girl thought that her bottle of Lavender perfume was still in her bag somewhere.

She would never admit this to anyone but Angel loved the first day of classes. That probably made her a big nerd but she didn't care classes were fun, learning new things to make her a better witch well that was always worth it. So she walked into the Transfiguration classroom ready and willing to learn. Entering she looked around for a prime seat and well in all her Ravenclaw fashion she found herself a seat up front. Some people minded the front but not her she rather enjoyed it, plus professors did enjoy picking on those who ran straight to the back of the room.
Sitting she placed her bag down on the ground next to her before looking up and smiling at the professor. Then she opened the bag taking out what she'd need for today's lesson which were her wand, parchment, text, and quill. Yes that too made her predictable, she was always prepared but that didn't bother her one bit. Sitting she waited for class to begin.

He entered the classroom, took a seat, and sat there. He sighed and yawned. He hadn't been too loquacious as he was through the last six years. Maybe it was just because it was his last year and he didn't want to graduate? Who knew, well, Tristan kinda knew it, but didn't realize it. Wondering about something he just couldn't think of or put his finger on it. He didn't feel like thinking about it. Just waiting for the class to start.
"Uggh.." he grunted.

Watching people come in, look around and take a seat before class started was a natural pass time for anyone who arrived there early. At times it made her wonder what she looked like when she did it. She had started to pull her things out of her bag when she felt a light brush on her arm. From the corner of her eye she'd been able to see that it had come from Drew.
She took the parchment and unfolded it, finding it blank. She looked up from the paper at Drew and gave him an arched eyebrow, trying not to grin and give herself away while she reached for a muggle pencil she knew was somewhere in her bag.

Drew smirked at Layla's expression, and while he wasn't sure what she was planning, he had a guess that she was going to do something. In fact it was what he was counting on.
Tristan came in, looking unusually unsociable, but that didn't stop Drew from trying to get his attention as well. "Dude!" he called out in a low whisper, trying to call to the Gryffindor without disturbing Brady's hangover too much. "Hey, what's up?"

It was at this point that Devin stood up, he was pretty sure those who were coming to class were here, and if they weren't well they would have to talk to a friend. So commence he did, but first something had to be said. "Mr. Thornton, don't throw things in my class." Devin was really in no mood to start a feud with a student, so he just gave him a warning, he didn't have the energy for anything else, it was all hope that they didn't notice. Taking a slow intake a breath he began. "Now class settle down, and listen up. Today we are going to start off with some introductions then later in class we will see what magic we can make happen."
"Now who can tell me, what exactly allows us to conjure things?" It was of course what they would start with this year, conjuring, and from there they would work to the uses, allowing them to further both their magic and their dueling. Both pivotal with what was happening, these days. He moved to the front of his desk and leaned on it. He tried to make it seem casual, but it was obvious that the man had already lost the will to really stand. Now instead he just wanted to have something to support him, and support was what the desk did best.

Drew rolled his eyes and opened up his book and notes. He wasn't going to argue with the man in front of the class, but the tall Ravenclaw hadn't thrown anything. He had simply flicked a piece of paper at Layla who was sitting nearby. A flick was not a throw.
He made another face at Layla, figuring she wasn't going to get her chance at getting him back. That, of course, meant he won. The question now, was if Brady was in the mood for the smart-ass answer that was trying to escape him. Drew fought it, figuring if he had called him out for a non-existant throw, the man really wasn't going to appreciate his offering of "magic" as an answer to the question.
