"Hey, even Ravenclaws need a break from all that thinking," Arianna claimed, nodding her head in thorough agreement of what she said. Of course, if she didn't believe it, why would she say it? "I've never gotten to there, but I think there's a point where your brain can actually explode...."
Should they experiment on that? Hah! Right. Like she could find any volunteers. They'd all run before she finished explaining what they were trying to do. Those who stayed probably wouldn't have the brains to think anyway.
"Yup. Me and Nic," Arianna smiled, a slight red tinge touching her cheeks. "I think there's things we both have to work out, but it's going good so far. I'd have to say he's the best boyfriend I've had to date....He doesn't try to make me feel like he's some gift from God and I'm not...and he's friends with my friends, so I don't have to worry about Drew beating him up. So it's all good."

"Hey, even Ravenclaws need a break from all that thinking, I've never gotten to there, but I think there's a point where your brain can actually explode...."
It was quite clear that the response was nothing more than mere fabricated jest and while he could have easily continued it he was much more aroused in curiosity by her second spattle of dialog. "Sounds like an average lad with his head enougyh int he game to know when he's makin' an arse out of 'imself. Not many blokes do that I don' think but why in the name of Merlin should you worry about Drew? It's your life and your choices an' last I checked you two weren' related by name...or is he just that protective of all his friends?" It sounded a bit accusatory he would admit to that but in truth it was nothing more than simple question. He knew Drew was good all around no matter what angle you looked at him -- unless you pushed and then looked -- and even then the consequence was nthing worse than possibly a non-permanent hex-effect or a bloody nose... All minor in retrospect to a killing curse, no?
The Head Boy shook his head slightly and gave a weak chuckle. It wasn't much of an olive branch for what he may have just insinuated but his insinuation (if it existed) hadn't been intentional either. In his eyes everything still evened out except for that fact that he tended to dig himself a verbal foxhole even if there wasn't a battle to fight. Call it his sarcastic Welsh stubborness or just plain stupid, the fact remained common that he did it.
