If class were easy, then there wouldn’t be teachers to help the ones whom had to learn what lesson was being taught. But at the same time that there were students being taught, the professors that were teaching them were also learning at the same time. In a matter of months, Professor Annemarie Viola van Aller had learned so much from her students, and owed just as much to them as she knew they someday would look back and thank her for.
Or at least that was what every teacher hoped for, wasn’t it?
Annemarie couldn’t wait for the day to be over, and done with. It wasn’t the students, but just the fact that she had gotten up on the wrong side of the bed, quite literally. She’d hit her head on a drawer, stubbed her toe on her desk, and after all of that she had to teach her students an easy class. At least that would make it go a bit faster, but she still wished she had a harder topic for the students that day. Annemarie sighed to herself as she sat behind her desk waiting for the students to arrive.
That was probably the most common way of transportation that both muggles and wizards shared….walking. She jotted a note down, knowing she’d have to talk about that one first.

Mornings. In Newt's vocabulary, the word 'morning' was classified as a curse word and was defined as 'something definitely not fun'. He often had to be dragged by the scruff of his neck just to get out of bed. Dressing himself was a whole other story as well.
Newt began to wanders the halls, a still sleepy looked upon his dazed face. His standard black robes billowing in his somewhat speedy walk. The Hufflepuff simply wore whatever his hands found during the search of his trunk. Thankfully, he found a adequately decent and clean pair of robes. He continued to walk at a fast pace, the items in his satchel jingling joyfully. He stifled a yawn as he found himself at the door to his first class of the day.
He pushed the door open, entering the threshold with the same sluggish look upon his face. Newt looked at the teacher and gave her a polite wave. Darn, he was the first one in class. That meant that he actually wasted precious minutes earlier awake when he couldn't been dozing off. With a small sigh, he began to look for a decent seat.
Eureka, he had found the perfect seat! It was not so close to the teacher's desk yet was also not that far away. It was perfectly in the middle. Placing his satchel to his side, he retrieved a notebook, inkpot, and an simple quill. Now, with a sobering yawn, Newt waited for class to start...

"Oh," bang. "My," clatter. "Marlin!" thump. "Where is it?!" Matty threw out the rest of her clothes from her trunk, in search of her school tie. She did have two, but one was singed from her potions class, and it looked crappy and made her look scruffy. The spare one, of which Matty was looking for, had to be around her dorm somewhere. She had looked through all her draws, around her bed, and now, in her traveling trunk. After a few frustrated moment, the girl pulled the yellow tie from within the debts of the case, and fumbled to tie it. The Fourth year whacked on her over-robe, picked up her messenger-style bag, and ran out of the Common Room.
She wasn't late, really. But her watch said otherwise.
According to Matty she was already going to be 2 minutes late for her lesson, when really, she was actually early. The Huffle sprinted past many other students, up to the Third floor, and practically flung open the door to find... One student. Ouch. The girl's green eyes, scanned her watch, then the clock in the classroom. "Damnit..." she muttered, feeling her cheeks redden a bit. The 14-year-old managed a small smile to her Professor, before adding "Morning Professor." with a small nod. The girl then looked over the classroom. Newton. That was good. The girl made her way slowly to where the boy was seated, and took her place to the side of him. "Hey Newt," she said softly, a soft smile on her face. Matty took out her notes, and placed them on the top corner of her desk, not really neat, but nor messy. At least she had lived through the morning.
So far.

Mornings was actually a time of day Felicity enjoyed. The sun rising was about her favourite part of the day when she got to experience it, and it wasn't a bad experience. There'd been a couple that made her mad, Drew mostly, her dad never made her mad on those days she'd been able to rise and see the sun with him. The colours melding together and away from each other were the best, she thought.
Always in clean uniform in the beginning of the day, Felicity had managed to make it through breakfast and a bit more without messing her robes up. Sometimes her tie was a little off, or her skirt was a little twisted, one sock up and the other down, her sweater stuffed in her bag, her sleeves rolled up, it really depended on the activity of the day, and the classes she had. Potions was a class made for rolling sleeves back, whereas Muggle Studies wasn't so much. And making a good impression on the paper advisor was a good thing, which meant she put a little extra oomph into her style of dress when attending the woman's class.
Having gotten up early, she made it to an early breakfast, and that meant she had plenty of time to get herself unlost in the corridors. As the blonde rounded the corner, she saw her Professor's door closing, and she hoped she wasn't going to be the last one entering. While she still would've been on time, she didn't want to be the last either, just didn't look right, almost like she'd be scraping in in the nick of time, and still be well-on time. And Jax was the only one she knew in the class last time, she hoped to find a seat near the usually chipper third year again.
Entering the room, she saw that she wasn't only not the last person in the room (or she assumed), and she actually knew two people in there. Amazing in many senses of the word.
Smiling in the direction of van Aller, Felicity took up her usually seat near the front of the room. Ever since she started to get over the incident of January, she started taking up her usual spots. The front of the room in a class she did well in, as well as in the class of the newspaper advisor.
As she passed by the two Hufflepuff's, Felicity gave a wave, smiling about her meeting with Newt. It really was quite funny, especially now that she didn't smell so bad.

"Oh come on!" Ryan complained, as he messed up his robes. He looked terrible, he looked like a nerd. There had to be something he could do. It was the black that made him look really bad, as well as the tie and the shoes. Ok, so maybe he still wore his skate shoes with his uniform, but they looked terrible! Ryan loosened his tie and ruffled up his hair. Maybe that would make him look better. Ryan still looked weird, but he had given his own charm to it. He untucked his shirt and took off his cloak. "There we go. Not bad, not bad." Ryan said, as he glanced in the mirror.
Grabbing his school stuff, Ryan walked out of his 'den' and into the common room. Saying a douple of 'hello's' and waving, He walked out of the door and into the cold marble staircases. Making his way down the stairs to the third floor, Ryan entered his Muggle Studies classroom, to see three people already in there. "Hey. Hello. Maaaaaatty. How you doing, girl?" He spoke cheesily. Ryan was always old fashioned when it came to girls, but that was just what he did. Ryan sat down on the chair next to Matty and rested his gead on her shoulder. "Baby girl, you saved me a seat." He said, cacking himself with laughter.

Matty looked up in time to see Ryan enter the room. Merlin. Did he have to take this elective? She looked down at her hands, trying to avoid his gaze. Too late. 'Maaaaaatty. How you doing, girl?' The Hufflepuff tried no to laugh, but she simply looked up and gave him a small smile. "Hey Ryan," the girl replied quietly, rolling her eyes slightly as he rested his head on her shoulder. That wouldn't look good if a certain Slytherin she knew walked in... 'Baby girl, you saved me a seat.' Matty honestly tried really heard not to laugh this time, but she failed. "Haha, right Ryan. You keep thinkin' that," she teased, before grabbing him by the chin and pulling his face away from her shoulder. Too close for comfort.

Ryan knew he was being cheesey, but that was kind of what the boy was aiming for. The girl looked annoyed when he had entered, but Ryan took no notice of this. The boy didn't even know enough about the girl to know that she was taken already. Not that this would phase Ryan, he couldn't care less. "Oh, I will hon. I will." He said, looking at the girl. Her uniform wasn't scruffy, as Ryan was, and her hair was actually neat. Looking down at his own clothes, Ryan said, "It's amazing how different we are. I mean, we are both extremely good looking (Ryan brushed his hair back, laughing) but the state your uniform is in compared to mine, girl you should learn to take care of yourself." Ryan smirked.

The girl looked over to Ryan, and tried to hold the grin off her face. She just succeeded, settling with a subtle smile. 'It's amazing how different we are. I mean, we are both extremely good looking but the state your uniform is in compared to mine, girl you should learn to take care of yourself.' The Hufflepuff blushed a little, but shook her head at him. "Take care of myself? I think it's you who needs taking care of," she looked down at her uniform. It wasn't the neatest in the class, as she wore no robe over the top, and her school shoes were replaced by black slip-ones, her sleeves pushed us. But yes, she considered herself to be neater than Ryan.
"Look at your tie, Ryan." the girl smirked, leaning over and fixing it up so it actually looked like a tie, not just a piece of un-even material slung around his neck. "See? Now you look like a Gryffindor." Matty shot him a smirk, before settling back into her own seat.

"Come on lady. You're wrecking my awesome-ness and coolity levels!" Ryan complained, as Matty tightened up his tie. Sure, her uniform could've been neater too, but in his standards of clothing, it was as if her mother had dressed her. "What if I don't want to look like a gryffindor?" He smirked. Ryan reached up to loosen his tie, but stopped, maybe he should keep it like this. Just for a while, anyways. "No worries, the hair will keep me awesome-ness intact." He spoke, in his over-confident, cocky voice.

Easy class, and still on time. It was a great start to the day, especially as she realized she was the Ravenclaw, and from what it looked like the only one in the class, and she was the last one to enter. Jax smirked to herself thinking that maybe her rep would someday flourish with these. A Raven that didn't care about being the last or not being as studious as they were supposed to be? Jax smiled a bit more, her blue lucky baseball cap turned backwards on her head, thinking how lovely the day was actually being. Of course, as Jax thought about it, she couldn't be the only Raven in this class...could she?
She hoped she was as she started down to the regular two rows of seats that van Aller always had set up for the class. She said it made sense and it made everyone sit closer to learn better? Whatever. Jax didn't care, but what she did care about was sitting next to someone that she liked. Looking around the room she saw a few people she recognized, none of which were really her friends or anything, and then some people she didn't know at all, followed by Felicity. Nice...she'd sit next to her again like every other class.
Jax slowly strolled along, taking of the cap and frizzy her spiky hair out. Her rabbit pendent chocker dangled around her neck in place of the tie that was supposed to be and as per normal, she wore the pants instead of the skirt for the uniform and fit it quite well in it if she didn't say so herself. Other girls wore the pants...why couldn't she? She sighed taking a seat and brightly smiling as always. "Hey, Felicity...some morning, eh?" Jax put the bag she carried with her down and leaned back in her chair. Soon class would start and then it would end. Thank Merlin.

They all came in one by one and Annmarie just wanted to shake her head. She didn’t. But she wanted to dearly. Such slack the school had nowadays on their dress code. Though, from what Annemarie could see, the school had slacked just in general since her being there. And since her Head Master was probably the most controversial one the school had had, that was actually saying something.
Annemarie didn’t blame Raynor, however. With all that was going on in these students lives and all that that awful Shaw man had put each and every one of them through, van Aller believed that the slack was because the children didn’t see how much even the smallest of things mattered. Wasn’t that obvious with the respect issue, alone? She sighed, glad that she was not seeing any Slytherins this way this morning. She probably couldn’t handle it if she had.
As every student walked in and smiled and/or greeted her, Annemarie did her best to smile and greet them back through her disappointment. She wasn’t about to take points off of anyone’s house because of their lack of clothing, but she did wish they all came in the room as Miss Hjort did. All neat, spick and span, even the straggler Ravenclaw, Miss Chaput wasn’t that bad, though the chocker necklace dangling around her neck instead of the blue and gold tie that was supposed to be there did really bug her.
“Miss Chaput, where’s your tie?” van Aller said over the classroom noise in her most stern voice. Hopefully, now that she had begun to talk the students would know to quiet down. Usually they did, but there were always one or two…
“As for the rest of the class,” Annemarie started. “I understand that mornings are rough, but when you enter my classroom please be in the appropriate attire and make it neat as it’s supposed to be. You may leave the robes off if you need be, because the weather is becoming warmer, but everything else you wear must be according to the dress code in my class and must be neat.” She paused seeing as some were looking down at their shoes and scoffing just a bit. “Shoes can be whatever you’d like to wear…but the clothing is all that I am stressing.”
She’d give them a reason but most wouldn’t care to hear it from what she had gathered in the past few months of teaching at Hogwarts. From what she had gathered from the professors, your way in the classroom without a reason needed. Otherwise, you’d get walked all over. One thing that had happened a bit too much as of late. “All right, class, I’ll call role as always and then we will begin.”
Calling out every name she had on her roster, last names in alphabetical order, Annemarie van Aller called the role. Good attendance today it seemed. Better than previously in the classes for the last lesson. Hopefully that would mean an excellent class indeed.
((CLASS HAS NOW BEGUN. IF YOU ARE STILL LOOKING TO GET INTO IT, POST THAT YOU HAVE ALREADY BEEN HERE OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE LATE. That is all.))

Tie, robe, shoes...check. Everything was in order even though Kari got out of bed a little late her uniform at least looked semi-decent. Quickly brushing her hair the girl grabbed her back, slung it over her shoulder and ran out of the common. Please don't be late, please don't be late... she kept thinking as Kari sprinted down the staircase but was held up momentarily since one of the flights decided to move. Deciding to take a short detor Karina ran down to the third floor and into the room andsat down in a seat before the bell rung. Score!
So class started, not really a motivating lecture on the importance of keeping your uniform tidy. Thank goodness Kari didn't forget anything though her robe and tie were a bit wrinkled from having to sit in her trunk amoung the mess. In the meantime the gryff just sat there while the professor took role call.

Hearing someone say something about saving a seat to Matty, one of her writers for the paper, and not exactly caring for it either, Felicity rolled her light brown eyes in response crossed her arms over her chest. Could Muggle Studies please not be something of the like? She was sure the paper advisor wouldn't put up with it, but it wasn't really something Felicity could count on either. The woman was as unpredictable as a wild animal. You never knew quite when things would be all right, when they'd be all wrong, or when they'd be stepping and toeing the line.
But as unpredictable as she was, Felicity rather enjoyed the woman. While she may have been scared out of her mind around her sometimes, she deeply respected her. But she could still be formidable too, and she chose an example all her own. The state of uniforms. Felicity was highly pleased she wasn't included in that list she made. Normally, something seemed to be out of place, but surprisingly, not today. Her socks even matched.
Turning to respond to Jax quietly, Felicity smiled and nodded a good morning, though she wondered what the girl meant by "some morning". There were quite a few conclusions she could come to, and none of them sounded quite right.
When role was called, Felicity sat somewhat patiently, confirming she was indeed in class.

Tianne slung her packed bag over her shoulders. In the bag, was a load of textbooks, spare ink and quills, and parchment. She was dressed nicely, everything was ironed and neat. To be honest, Tianne really suited the uniformed look. Her tie was tightly tied, and her shoes freshly polished. Her blouse made her look feminine, while her pants added that sexy look, clinging to her small physique. She smiled, today was going to be a good day. For everyone The teenager thought to herself.
After wandering aimlessly, Tianne finally decided that it was time for her to go to class. She made her way to the third floor, and began to enter the classroom, just as she heard the teacher say, Miss Chaput, where’s your tie?. She was glad that they hadn't seemed to have marked the role yet, nor started the actual lesson. "Sorry Professor van Aller." Tianne spoke, sneaking up to where Matty Wentworth and Ryan Callahan were sitting. Tianne smiled at the two, before turning her attention to the teacher.

Terrah sat in her seat, neatly dressed, waiting for class to begin. She generally stuck to school dress codes when attending classes, since it was school policy and Terrah was never much of a troublemaker. When Professor van Aller called her name during attendance, she politely raised her hand to signify she was there. While the professor finished calling roll, Terrah got out a length of parchment and a quill, ready to take notes when the class started. She glanced around the room at the other students as she retrieved her best quill from her backpack. There were some students not quite in perfect dress code, she noticed- that must be why Professor van Aller was lecturing everyone this morning.
