{This is for any fourth year and above who has ALREADY taken at LEAST one year of Arithmancy. If you have not, you will need to join the beginning class.}
Becca had volunteered to fill the Arithmancy position just until a permenant professor could be found but had become the permanent professor quickly. She didn't mind and actually looked forward to the class. The students she was expecting should already be familiar with the basics (but were still in for a bit of review) and so there wasn't much to set up this period.
The door was open and inviting the students in, but Becca was at the desk, feet propped up and her nose in a book, apparently unaware of anyone entering.

Verina had actually looked forward to this particular class. Despite their professor's assumptions that Verina didn't really bother listening to the lesson's wasn't true. She actually in fact enjoyed this particular class because she found it interesting in itself and she did always get her work done, didn't she. She couldn't help the small frown that came to her lips upon realizing she was the first to the class.
Giving their professor the faintest of smiles though she doubted she'd even noticed she decided to sit a little toward the back of the class but not in the back exactly. Taking a seat she tried to distract herself by pulling out some parchment and beginning to doodle what to her eyes looked like nothing that could be humanly pointed out.

Jynx made his way to the Arithmancy classroom in a good mood. He liked this class for a couple of reasons really. First off his friends were their considering it was a mixed class, and second off it was usually interesting material. So it was really no surprise that he was the second one there considering he hadn't been dragging his feet like he had to some of his other classes.
Reaching the room he walked in to find Verina already there. Smiling he walked over to where she was sitting and took a seat next to her. "Hey Verina," he said with a smile as he took out his parchment and quill. "What are you drawing there?" he asked looking at her doodle on her piece of parchment.

Jack wallked briskly to Arithmancy thinking for sure that he was once again going to be the last or close to the last student to arrive at the classroom. Comfirmed right when he walked though the door and noticed Jynx and Verina already there he just sighed and made his way over to them. At least he wasn't late. That was an up side, though Verina was sure to tease him again for not beating her to class. Wondering why they were sitting close to the back of the room when they were the only students in the class he took out his quill and parchment and sat next to Verina.

Anna walked cheerfully down the stairs as she made her way to her Arithmancy class. For some reason now the gryffie was in a good mood maybe because it was Arithmancy she was going to. However she expected herself to be cutting it thin trying to actually reach the place. Upon entry Anna was relieved to find three people inside besides herself. I really have to fix that stupid watch... she thought putting her things down on a desk.
"What's going on over here?" Anna asked strolling over to where Verina, Jynx and Jack were.

Nick entered the classroom to find that three of the people he talked to the most were the first one's to arrive to the lesson. With a smile he approached the small group which was currently located toward the back of the room. Usually it seemed that more often then not they usually ended up somewhere near the front of the class. He honestly believed that was more Jack's doing then anything and didn't mind too much the change.
"Hey guys," Nico said as he sat down in the seat directly behind Jynx so it would be easier for them to all talk. "Seems this is the only class we really got with you Jynx, sucks. You being younger and all." He didn't know the boy all that well but they had managed to talk a few times before.
He smiled as he spotted Anna, "Hey Anna. Wanna sit?" he asked motioning to the seat beside himself and behind Verina. He figured it would be nice for her to join them and even more for Verina. It seemed she never could escape them long enough to talk to any girls their age. But besides that he liked Anna though they'd only spoken a few times.

Anna didn't really notice anyone after her walk into the classroom, but when Nick said her name she turned around and smiled. "Hey Nick. Sit? Sure why not." The Gryffindor knew Nick to be a nice guy even though they had encountered a few times. Not to mention that one time when she fell asleep in back in the common room with that nightmare. "So what's going on with you?" she asked her fellow gryffie.

Verina couldn't help blushing slightly as Jynx pointed out her doodle's to her. She really hadn't expected anyone to notice them. If you were to ask her she'd agree she was one of the worst drawers in the world, "Umm... i'm not sure," she finally said turning her parchment to get a different angle. "I'm not sure it is anything," she said with a slight laugh her embarrassment evaporating.
She smiled brightly as Jack joined them and had just gotten out a hello as Anna also approached them, "Hey Anna. Nothing much just doodling in my case," she said with a smile just as Nick walked in, "Hey Nick," she also added before Anna joined them and the two began to talk.

Having already taken a year of Arithmancy at his former school he was happy he didn't have to take the class with younger students. Not that he disliked anyone younger then him or anything like that it was just most of the people he'd come to see as friends were also in their second year of Arithmancy. He noted that their was a rather large group of students near the back.
"Hey all," Derek said before taking the empty seat on the other side of Jack.

The bell rang and right on cue, Becca snapped her book shut and looked up at her class from over her glasses. Ah yes... these were the talkative ones. It was noticable that they seemd to calm down a bit over the summer though.
"Welcome to Intermediate Arithmancy," she started, looking at her small class. "If you are in here, you have passed the Basic class and are working towaards your OWL. We'll start with a quick review. Who can tell me what Arithmancy is please?"

Jack was ready when the class started. He hadn't been talking that much during the start of the lesson and had had his mind elsewhere, until Davenport spoke. At which he turned his attention back to the class and the question at hand. He knew what Arithmancy was and didn't have a problem answering the question. Raising his hand he said, "Arithmancy is the study of numbers, there magical properties, and what they can tell us."

Jynx just rolled his eyes over in Jack's direction. It seemed like Jack never let go of the chance to hop up and down answering a question. Smiling he looked over in Jack's direction and jumped up and down with is hand in the air all in the name of teasing. Of course he knew Jack was probably right, so it wasn't for the sake of trying to answer her question. Nope it was all just to poke at Jack. "You just have to have first go, don't you?" he asked with a slight laugh.

"Sadly I'd have to say not much and what a shame," Nick replied giving a mock depressed sort of tone before smiling at her. "Okay now i'll be serious," he said before trying to meld his expression into one of seriousness and then looked over at his cousin, "What do you think did I pull off your trademark," he said before grinning he couldn't help himself he just had to mess with his cousin it was what they did. Turning back to Anna he winked at her, "I think I failed horribly in my attempt at being serious. What do you think?" he asked.
Nick had actually rolled his eyes at the exact moment that Jynx had and couldn't help but want to laugh at the interpretation Jynx made of Jack and was reduced to biting his bottom lip not to. Considering Jynx sat in front of him he leaned forward and said quietly to the boy, "Hmm... I think we're going to get along great. Nice one," after speaking he leaned back.

"Five points to Ravenclaw, but I certainly hope that's not all you learned from last year," Becca answered, eyeing the talkative Gryffindor. She'd let his side talking slide for now, but as of now she expected the conversation to focus on the subject. Even Jynx's little rib had been related to the class.
"Anyone have anything else to add on? Please don't make me put you all back into the beginning class?" she added, though she wouldn't have been surprised. This particular group had always seemed more focused on socializing than actually learning anything.

Derek wasn't sure if he should answer the professor's question considering the fact that he'd been formerly attending another school. But figured that all school's most likely had somewhat the same curriculm and at the same time he wanted to show their professor he did belong in intermediate Arithmancy instead of beginners, "Well in beginner's I learned how to find my heart and social numbers and then what they meant for me." He doubted he'd get points but at least he'd said what he'd already learned at what most likely the students their had already learned as well.
