Norbrook awaited the arrival of his class. Sitting behind his desk he was in his all too familiar attire of muggle clothing. He had found that wizard robes were just not as comfortable as the muggle attire or maybe it was that he was use to dressing like a muggle so any wizarding clothes just felt weird to him. Whatever the case was he was dressed in a steal gray long sleeve shirt and a pair of black slacks.
He had decided that since his N.E.W.T. class was so small the he would combine it with his younger class just for this term so that he could get through the muggle law aspect of the course. He really wanted to have a mock trial with his students so that he could have an interactive and informative lesson all at the same time. By combining the classes he would make sure that there were enough students to cover all of the basic positions in a courtroom. He had set up the class in a way that resembled that of an American muggle courtroom with two long tables facing another table and desk.
As he waited for the arrival of his students he put all of the names into a hat and pulled them out one by one so that the positions were randomly chosen. He didn’t want anyone complaining about favoritism or not getting the position that they wanted so he decided to assign them completely based on the luck of the draw. This way if one of them were to complain about their position he could just tell them better luck next time.
Looking down at his piece of paper he wrote the names under four categories: Defense Attorney, Prosecution, Witness, and Judge. He would have to wait and see who showed up to the class and make the final list from there, but he hoped to get a full enough class that the mock trial would actually work out and be fun to do.

Considering that her last Muggle Studies class was somewhat enjoyable, Matty was rather looking forward to coming to her next one. So as she walked in through the door, leaving it slightly open behind her, she looked around. The room seemed slightly different, in culture, but also in atmosphere. Smiling and saying "Mornin' Professor." she took a leaning position against the wall, before wondering what they would be doing that lesson. So now she waited, for some other life form to join her in class.
Waiting was going to be the boring bit, however when the class started, things would heat up.

Verina wasn't too sure of what to make of their Muggle Studies class yet. The last lesson had been rather enjoyable and a tad different from the normal dreary lessons that consisted mostly of lecture rather than hands on experience. She smiled at their professor as she entered the classroom. Her smile grew as she spotted Matty, "Hi Matty," she beamed as she walked over to the Huffle that had quickly became one of her good friends. She was slightly surprised to find that she was the first person to their lesson instead of Jack. ( )

Jack was running a little late for his Muggle Studies class, well he wasn't late but later then he normally would have been if he hadn't have gotten held up in his dorm trying to find his stupid notebook that the teacher had given them last class period. He had just thrown it somewhere over the winter break and couldn't remember where he had seen it last. It took him a good ten minutes to locate it in his trunk, where he hadn't even thought to look for a good five. With notebook in tow he sped along the third floor corridor and finally reached the classroom.
Flinging open the door he walked inside. To his great surprise he wasn't that late at all. Only two other students were there besides him, both of whom he knew. "Hey guys." he said making his way over to them and standing next to Verina.

Smiling as Verina emurged through the door, Matty watched as she came to her. "Hey Verina, how've you been?" Then again as another came through the door, it appeared to be Jack. "That Girls Jack, not Guys." poking her tongue out at him. "Hey either way." she said smirking. Somehow ther was somehting different about to two, after the holidays that was. Mostly because Matty's writer knew that in another thread Jack had asked out Verina, and her said yes, but also because he went and stood right next to her. Smirking she winked at Verina before saying again "So how are you both?"
This was gonna be good.

Reina walked into the classroom and stopped immediately. She glanced the piece of paper that had her change of class schedule and then went outside the door to verify this was accurate. Reina's face went red and she approached the Prof. with determined steps.
"Do I look like a little kid?" Reina didn't wait for him to answer. "NO! Do I look like I needed to be held back? NO! Then please in the name of Merlin tell me why you thought it relevant to place me in a class with a BUNCH OF FREAKING KIDS!?!"

Jynx made his way to the third floor corridor just in time to hear Reina go off on Professor Norbook. "Deep breaths there," he said to Reina, smiling and shake his head slightly, as he came strolling into the room. His comments were directed to the older Slytherin, but Norbrook might want to take his advise to if he liked.
Making his way around the bothered girl he walked over to where the rest of the students were located. "Hey," he said smiling, "Whats got her tail all twisted?"

Norbrook acknowledged all of the students coming in and said hi to those who had addressed him. He thought that this was going to be quite the class with all the levels of students in it and expected everyone to have fun with it. So when Reina entered yelling about something he was a bit perplexed at first. He had never met the Slytherin and wondered what she had against younger students to make her react in such a way. He wasn’t planning on keeping the classes together only for this term so that they would have enough people to participate.
Norbrook taken aback at first by the total disrespect towards a professor just let that pass over him. He didn’t really want to cause a scene in front of all of the students and it would serve no purpose to start yelling about showing respect. So he did as Jynx advised and took a couple of deep breaths before answering in as calm of voice as he could muster. "My intention for combining the classes into one is because I wanted to have enough people to be able to make the N.E.W.T. section on muggle law enforcement interactive instead of me just lecturing the whole class away. After this part of the course is over the classes will go back to normal. One for the N.E.W.T. students and another for the younger students. If you still find my reasoning to be absurd then feel free to take it up with one of the people over me, because unless I hear otherwise from a superior I am going to continue running this class the way I see fit. Are there anymore complaints that I should know about before we get this class underway?”

"Switching your elective could work, too, Reina," Charlie said at the doorway. She could hear Reina's bickering from outside, and it was pretty clear about what he said. "Makes it easier on me."
She stopped herself in time to see that it wasn't the usual set up of class, and a look of confusion came upon her face. "Hey prof, what's up with this? What's these tables and stuff got to do with Muggle law? Don't they have huge stadiums like the ones they got up in the Ministry?"

Nic walked into the class and shook his head. He was impressed with the new muggle Prof. especially since Reina could be a royal pain in the ..."As usual Reina has to find something wrong with everything!" Nic commented as he walked past her. "Though it is pretty cool being here with everyone."

Combined classes... with everyone? To Dean it was one thing to have a class or two with the fifth years, but to have a class with third and fourht years... It was almost an insult to his and his yearmates intelligence. Nevermind, though. Class was class, day in and day out. He walked into the classroom at the tail end of Prof Norbrook's little speech and sat down on the far side of the class room. He had, however, heard Reina screaming from all the way down the ruddy hall. Dean could guess this class wasn't going to be much fun.

As he waited for Reina to give him an answer he watched a few more of the students trickle in. He couldn’t help but smile at some of the students comments, but still he was the teacher and couldn’t let everyone gang up against Reina. “That will do,” he said, not in a annoyed tone, but in tone that clearly said end the wise cracks there, after Nic and Charlie’s remarks in Reina’s direction.
Turning his attention to Charlie he said smiling, “You’ll find out here in a sec. I just want to give a couple of the stragglers time to come in and then I will explain everything.”

“Ok Girls.” Jack said with a laugh at Matty’s correction of him using the phrase ‘Guys.’ “I’m good.” he continued before he was interrupted by a rather loud Slytherin, whom seemed to have a problem with the way the class had been laid out and was now telling Norbrook about it.
“Hey, Jynx.” Jack said as Jynx walked over to them, “Something about not wanting to be in a class with us ‘Freaking Kids’” He couldn’t get anything else out before Norbrook was saying something to the affect of too bad and if you have anymore complaint to take them up with the headmistress or deputy. Jack then watched as a few more of the students came in and offered some advice and as Norbrook said he would explain everything in a minute or so. So he just waited patiently for the class to start.

Kylie made her way into the Muggle Studies classroom navigating past the irrate Reina to find a seat over by the other kids in her year. "Hey guys," she said with a smile walking over to where Jack, Jynx, Matty, and Verina were sitting. Taking a seat near them she looked around to see what was happening. She noticed that they were all standing up for some reason, but she didn't see the sense in this when there were seats to be sat in, just because they were in a little different position then normal.

Kian hadn't remembered signing up for Muggle Studies but knowing him he just might have. If something was open he usually just took it to see if it was worth continuing. He knew a bit about Muggles so he figured the class shouldn't be too bad for him and their was nothing wrong with learning more about them.
Upon entering he couldn't help realizing that it was pretty much overrun by the younger students of the school. He raised an eyebrow slightly as Reina a Slytherin in his year began to put up a fit about being with younger students. He didn't really care or mind since it wasn't like they'd ever done anything to bother him.
Recognizing Matty and Jynx from his house he smiled slightly as he passed them, "Hey guys," he decided to say since he knew Matty's name but had never actually ever spoken to Jynx. Finding a seat he sat down to await what this lesson would hold.
