The months seemed to be zipping by faster than usual and before he knew it, Drew realized it was that time of year again. The annual pool party was a tradition he looked forward to every year, and while past events had been full of drama and in some cases, bloodshed, he was optimistic that this year things would go smoother than they ever had before.
He made his third pass in the hallway and opened the door to the Room of Requirement, grinning at the set-up inside. The large pool was the center piece of the room, complete with a diving board and slide. The barbecue grill was off to the side with chairs, tables and lounges set up nearby and a buffet table was set up farther back to avoid getting splashed on. It was empty at the moment, but Drew had lugged a couple of ice chests with him and was soon laying out a spread of food and drinks, making sure he had all of his favorites (as well as some of his friends' faves) available.
When he felt that things were ready, he tossed his towel onto a chair, pulled off his shirt and kicked his shoes under one of the lounges. Dressed in nothing but his blue swim trunks, he snagged a cookie from the table and walked the length of the diving board, bouncing lightly on the edge as he waited for people to show up.

Ahh today was the day. The best day for the Class of '09. Though he didn't join it last year, he decided to join this year. He decided to walk out of the common room, with nothing, but his orange and white swimming trunks and a pure-white towel wrapped around his neck. He didn't care if anyone was staring, which some people did, especially the girls, heh heh, oh sorry, not the point.
It really wasn't a walk, until he found that the Room of Requirements door appeared. He then opened it. He was early, because Drew was there. "Drew-man!" he greeted his friend. He smiled and threw his towel onto a chair. He then looked back to see Drew was just bouncing lightly on the diving board. "Heh, I don't mind getting wet first," he said as he jumped and dove into the pool. Man was it freezing. He managed to swim around underwater for about 30 seconds then coming up.
"BRRRRGGH... cold cold..." he said chuckling. He'll get over it.

Lucas was a little wary about going to the pool party. He knew it would be rude if he didn't show up, but it still didn't make him want to go. He'd contemplated for a long time about it, but in the end decided to make an appearance. Perhaps he could just show up, hang out for a little, but not stay too long. He knew he wouldn't swim, that was off-limits unless he had a t-shirt on. The Ravenclaw was an extremely self-conscious boy, but he wasn't going to let anyone know that. So walking to the Room of Requirement, Lucas paced back and forth three times before the door appeared and Lucas stepped into the room.

Drew had lived through enough water scares to be wary of swimming alone. Just cracking his head on the diving board during the first year pool party was enough to remember the 'always swim with a buddy' rule. He would have been a goner if he had done that alone and in the Room of Requirement, there was really no guarentee when someone else would show up.
But once Tristan showed up and jumped in the pool, Drew crammed the rest of his cookie into his mouth and did a flip off the board, making a decent sized splash. He came up quickly, flipping his hair out of his eyes and laughed when Tristan complained about the cold. The pool wasn't as cold as the lake, that was for sure. On the other hand, swimming in bathwater was just draining. The Ravenclaw had thought he had found a happy medium with the temperature.
Lucas made his entrance, and while Drew wasn't thrilled to see the other Ravenclaw, he wasn't about to be rude. He nodded and smiled amiably enough. "We got food and drinks over on the table and I was going to stoke up the barbeque in a bit," he told both guys thinking that what they really needed was some girls to show up.

It was a good thing the Gryffindor tower was only a short distance from the Room of Requirement. While she was considered dressed, she didn't really like wearing a bathing suit to begin with, had only worn it a few times with Drew, and absolutely hated the idea of wearing it in front of so many others. One wonderful part of this whole thing was she'd told Drew she was going to wear shorts, and he'd joked with her that he was too. However, she hadn't been joking. Her shorts didn't exactly match the blue top that would be seen, but she didn't care as long as she got to have her shorts on.
Therefore, the blonde swiftly walked from the tower in orange sandals, red shorts, and a dark green sweatshirt; not the biggest fashion statement ever made, but she hardly paid attention, only when she was trying to impress. And this was most definitely not an event she was planning on impressing people at, and Drew had already seen her stomach on a few occasions (the occasional dip in the Great Lake and Halloween), so she really didn't feel the need to try to impress.
One good part of going to this thing in Felicity's opinion was she at least knew a few of the sixth years, and hopefully at least one or two would show. Alexander she wasn't sure would actually attend, especially with how odd he was at times, and she wasn't sure about the newer Hufflepuff Caleb, or Lucas either. Obviously Drew would be in attendance, but she didn't know if she would know anyone else who showed, other than Seanna, Charlie, or Hiro. All right, so she could count her blessings that she knew a good number of the sixth years.
Finally reaching the room by the tapestry, she found the door and very carefully opened it, not sure what she was hoping for. However, the first person she did spot was Lucas, which made her smile. It was good to know he was there, at least she could talk to someone other than Drew while she was there.
Walking up behind the tall, blonde Ravenclaw, Felicity tapped his shoulder as she stepped up beside him searching for Drew and spotting him in the pool. "Hi, long time no see." And so it felt, like ages since she'd gotten to talk to her friend. "How've you been?"

The swimsuit she had purchased a few weeks ago was stashed in her bad. She didn't need the younger years asking her what she needed it for. Going to the girls room she slipped into it, the one piece clinging to her making her feel a little self conscious because she had way too much in the way of curves. Sighing she actually threw a t-shirt on over it. She'd take it off eventually but since she had a ways to go before she reached the Room of Requirement she had to cover up. No need to have anyone gawking before it was time.
Throwing on a pair of sweats and flip flips, she grabbed her beach chair, and bad walking out of the room making sure the coast was clear. Things were looking good and hopefully she wouldn't run into anyone before she got to where she was headed.
Luckily, she got her wish reaching the spot she did what needed to be done and watched as the door appeared. Taking a deep breath she opened the door there weren't many people inside yet and so far she was the only other girl there, which made her feel even more shy. Her face began to turn a little red as she looked at everyone around the room smiling and nodding. Funny even at 16 she was still shy, especially when she was in a room of people.
Moving to one corner of the room she went to set up her things wondering if anyone would show up that she knew or that would even just talk to her.

Lucas nodded at Drew when he told him where the food and drinks were, but a nod was all he got. He didn't want to be rude to Drew, but Lucas had trouble making himself be nice to his fellow Ravenclaw. But his mind was distracted from Drew when he felt a soft tap on his shoulder and a soft voice. Turning around, Lucas smiled at the younger girl, happy to see her despite the circumstances. "Hello, love," the Raven answered with a happy smile, "I've been alright. How've you been?"
While he waited for Felicity to answer him, another girl walked in. His eyes followed her as she came into the room and went into the corner. For a second, he watched her. She seemed shy and alone, like she didn't know anyone. But Lucas turned his attention to Felicity again.

It was almost as if the room was working its magic again when Felicity and Angelique showed up soon after he had thought about the absence of girls. Of course he was thrilled his girlfriend had come, especially knowing that she was probably going to be the only fifth year at the party, but he was also glad to see the Ravenclaw enter. He had only spoken to her a few times and didn't know her all that well.
Swimming over to the diving board, he pulled himself out of the water and onto the plank, showing off his biceps a little as he did the pull-up. He walked the length back to the deck and jogged over first to Felicity and Lucas.
"Hey, glad you made it," he told the girl, giving her a quick peck on her temple before offering a hand out to Lucas to greet him properly. It wasn't lke Drew could just ignore the guy, especially when he was standing right there and besides, the Prefect didn't care if Felciity wanted to tak to the other ravenboy. Drew was confident where she stood.
"I'm just going to say hi to Angelique and then stqart up the barbeque, okay?" he told both of them, noticing the Ravengirl was already going into wall-flower mode... not allowed at his party.

"Better," she answered him with a bright smile. Last time they had had a really good talk was in the library, not long after she'd broken up with Drew. However, she was back with him and feeling better than she'd been then. At least she wasn't ready to cry now. And just as she was ready to tell Lucas she and Drew had made up, the boy appeared by their side. Felicity hadn't even been paying attention to the fact he'd even left the water, but she found surprising he had. Normally he spent long amounts of time in it, not likely to get out for quite a long time.
Though, she was a little disappointed by his greeting. He was glad she'd made it? Hadn't she told him she'd go? Even back in January when he was first telling her about it, she'd told him she may go, which usually meant she would show. And even Lucas had at least greeted her with a "hello love". At least he'd actually kissed her, somewhat.
"All right," the blonde shrugged in response to Drew; she had no idea who Angelique was, but figured it really didn't matter when she was talking to Lucas anyway. Turning back to the taller blonde, she tried to smile and shrugged again. "We made up..."

Lucas had been beginning to smile when Felicity said she was better, but Drew interrupted. "Yeah, hi mate," Lucas answered, not really that enthused but doing it more for Felicity's sake. But then in a moment, Drew was saying he was going to go off with some other girl and Lucas raised an eyebrow, not looking at Drew as he did it though. He lowered his head, but his eyes looked up at Felicity. "Made up, huh?" Lucas muttered, mostly to himself.

Drew didn't care for the shrug from Felicity he got in response, but he really didn't like what she had said to Lucas afterwards. She had told Smith about the alleged break up? He knew she had told her family, and figured she had told Celina, but Lucas? Despite what the guy said, they were definitely not "mates". Heck, the guy hadn't even bothered to shake his offered hand.
"Y... you guys were talking. I'll... leave you back to your... conversation..." he stuttered, dropping his hand and feeling like a fool. Instead of making his way to greet his other guests, he went over to the barbeque, deciding he really wanted to be alone at that moment.

Angel may have been alone in the corner but she as usual was overly observant. The tension in the air made it hard not to be. Turning with her back against the wall she saw all the drama unfolding right there before her eyes. She had to admit situations like these were probably a lot of the reason she kept so much to herself. It was a real testament to how strong teenage emotions were.
Drew looked as if he was going to come on over and say hello but she saw him move in the other direction. She sighed but only so she could hear it. This was going to be a long party, perhaps she should have just stayed back in the common room she might have been a bit happier there alone, then again if she was there she wouldn't get to see her very own student inspired soap opera like drama. She was so intrigued at this point.
Taking off her t-shirt, she unfolded her chair and sat down, for the time being not aware of her figure or the way the suit made it look...

As soon as Drew starting talking again, she knew something was wrong. Nervous or upset, that's what the stuttering meant. There wasn't anything to be nervous about, at least she didn't think there was. No one was doing anything dangerous, and that was the only thing she could think of to be nervous about. There weren't any girls in the pool yet, so no girls in swimmers to be looking at.
Light brown eyes followed Drew, and when he didn't go over to the only other girl Felicity could see, but rather straight to his barbecue thing, she wondered what she did wrong.
Lowering her head, she had no idea. She hadn't gotten upset that he was going to go talk to another girl, and she hadn't been mean to him, so what did she do?
"Lucas..." she trailed off, her eyes looking over at the other Ravenclaw again. "I've got to go see what's wrong, I'm sorry." Touching his arm gently, she turned to go over to drew.
"Drew?" she asked, reaching out to touch his arm gently. The worst thing in doing something wrong was when you had no idea what it was you did. "What did I do?" She was tempted to just ask if he wanted her to leave, it'd probably solve things momentarily if she did.

Guy hadn't really found the time to make a ton of friends while at Hogwart's. It was either his music keeping him preoccupied or his lessons intrupting him. He didn't mind or make any excuses for it, figuring only that he would take the opportunity when opporunity arose for such things.
It happened that this time the opportuniy happened to arrive in the form of a sixth year swimming party. As Guy wandered to where he had been instructed that the Room of Requirement was, he wondered silently if it was something all of the sixth years did per tradition, or something that his graduating class did as their own sort of tradition. He was curious but figured he would have time to ask whoever the organizer of the event was, plus it wasn't too high on his list of things to worry about that he would think on it too much.
Guy walked past the wall three times as he had been instructed, taking a second to glance over his outfit once again. He had opted to just wear his red and blue checkered trunks to the party, along with one of his black ' Beatles ' shirts and flip flops. He figured he might as well, wearing actual shoes would be a nuisance to quick water access. Guy tugged lightly as the towel that was hung round his neck as he watched a door appear. Giving a light shrug, he made his way into the room.
There really weren't a lot of people in the party room so far, but that was okay for him. A light smile on his face he made his way in, feeling a little out of place but sure that it would get a bit better. He hoped, rather.

Drew had been under the barbeque, fiddling with the propane tank and grumbling to himself, when he felt the touch on his arm and heard Felicity's voice. Jumping slightly, he emerged from his little cave, rubbing his head.
What had she done? He wasn't sure. She had every right to talk to Lucas and he really had no problemw with her doing so. He just didn't care for the idea that the other boy had been privvy to their problems. While Drew was confident about where the Gryffindor's heart lay, he still had a suspicion that Lucas had been rather pleased to hear the news of their extended misunderstanding.
"I'm just not crazy about Lucas knowing my business is all," he said in a low voice, avoiding her eye. It would do no good to pretend nothing was wrong, and while he really didn't think this was the time and place to discuss it, he didn't want it hanging between the two of them, making a mess of things.
"I know it's your business and you can tell him whatever you want, but in this case... it was my business too. I don't like him in my business, especially with you." It was over and done with and he couldn't make her take it back. He couldn't even ask her not to do it again. All he could do was tell her he didn't like it.
