The girl took a deep breath in. Damn thinking, why couldn't she think straight? The girl really didn't want to turn this relationship as friends bad, and she was going to avoid doing that at all costs. Running her hands through her fringe, the girl had to make an answer. Smiling softly, the girl looked forward. "As long as I don't fall for you, vice versa, then I don't see the harm in going." she said in a kind tone. She could hug that boy right now, but that didn't mean she was seriously going to. Matty didn't feel quiet in the right place to do it.
"It wouldn't be bad being seen with you, either." she added with a slight smirk. "So Lucas, are you new to Hogwarts?" she asked curiously, taking her laying position again and looking to him. "Or have I just never seen you before?" Matty said, with the same tone yet a sweeter expression.

Lucas didn't really know what to say to that so he went with the obvious answer of just staying quiet and moving on as the topic changed back to him. This was a lose-lose situation here for Lucas because either he had to talk about himself, or answer the question one of them falling for the other. Lucas momentarily wished he hadn't followed Matty into the room.
"Fairly new," Lucas confessed, "Just got here a few days ago. Spent most of my time in the library so far. I'm a little nerdy that way." Lucas smiled at her and chuckled softly, hoping his nerdy personality would cheer Matty up a bit.

Matty soon regretted asking that question about the whole falling thing. Well, what was said was said, and the girl couldn't take it back now. She was quite relieved once he did finally say something, herself listening but merely looking up at the sky again. She bit her lip while grinning to hold back a laugh. "I don't think you sound nerdy. You're really interesting." she said in a sincere tone. "I spent most of my time in the Library in my first year here, I still often do." Matty added, before thinking. "Found anything that you were interested in while in the Library?" her voice was happier than it had been a few minutes before, which was an obvious sign that she was feeling better.

Lucas couldn't help but laugh at what she asked him. He realized Matty would have no idea why he was laughing until he explained it, so be enjoyed the little joke for a while until he let Matty in on the details. "Well, "interesting" is a bit of an understatement," Lucas began, still chuckling to himself, "I did meet someone I was interested in...she was...a little strand. Felicity, in Gryffindor. Know her?"

Matty raised her eyebrow at the boy for a second. It was true on the girl's behalf, she had no clue why he was laughing. The girl grinned as he commented on her version of 'interesting'. The Hufflepuff couldn't help but blank out for a moment. Felicity... I met her... With Mike... Matty stared up at the sky, before turning on her side to face Lucas, her eyebrow still slightly raised above her green eye. "Oh yes, I've met Felicity. On the Platform when we caught the Hogwarts Express." she said before continuing on. "I don't know her much, but she seemed really nice, and smart too. She's running the school paper people are involved in" The Hufflepuff girl said, she just left out the fact that Matty was indeed in that school paper.

"Yeah, she's pretty nice," Lucas agreed, nodding his head slightly. He turned and looked at Matty, seeing that she was now lying on her side, facing him. That childish thinking was creeping back into Lucas' head, but he pushed it out as best he could and continued on. "She's pretty darn set on finding that squirrel," Lucas told Matty, unsure of whether or not anyone else even knew what Felicity was looking for, "Have you heard about that? She wants a little grey squirrel for a pet. I've been looking for it whenever I have the chance."
And right then, right on cue, Lucas heard a small squeak behind him. Sitting up half-way, the Raven half-turned and looked over his shoulder, seeing a little squirrel behind him. "Look!" Lucas whispered to Matty, pointing toward the squirrel. It had to be Felicity's. How many other squirrels were roaming around the castle?

Matty simply smiled as Lucas agreed with her, not really knowing what else to do. In truth, the Hufflepuff had no idea whatsoever about this squirrel. Raising her eyebrows slightly, the girl shook her head slowly. "haven't heard about the Squirrel yet, nor have I seen it..." the girl said, resting her head on her hand and looking down to the grass. Pushing her hair back, the girl glanced over to where a noise had been heard. It was actually a squirrel... How it had gotten in their Matty was oblivious to, however it seemed to be quite smart to go unseen by the two for all this time.
Slowly turning, the girl smiled softly. "What should we do?" she asked in a whisper, still looking at the squirrel. It wasn't every day that you could see an animal like this up close, and in such a light it was slightly difficult to see. But really, in the flesh, there it was.

"I gotta catch it," Lucas whispered back, "I promised her I'd keep an eye out. I can't just let it get away." Turning over slowly, Lucas began rising to his feet, keeping his movements as slow as possible. He figured any sudden move would make it scamper back off into hiding and Lucas wasn't going to let that happen. Looking in Matty's direction, Lucas brought his finger up to her lips, silently telling her to stay quiet for a minute while he tried to catch it.
Lucas was soon standing up, but still hunched close to the ground so he could move quickly and quietly. He remembered something Felicity said about yellow leaves and he found himself wishing he had one. To his right, something light caught his eye. Watching the squirrel and moving toward whatever the light thing was, Lucas realized it was indeed a yellow leaf. Convenient, Lucas thought to himself, figuring it had only appeared in the room because he had been thinking about it and wanted it. Picking up the leaf, Lucas held it out for the squirrel to see.
"Come on, buddy," Lucas coaxed the squirrel, "Come get it." The squirrel seemed interested and began moving slowly toward Lucas. The Ravenclaw turned back to the younger Hufflepuff, telling her to stay quiet for a while longer and then turned back to the animal. It came a little closer, nearly touching Lucas' hand now and soon it was right in his palm, chewing at the leaf. Lucas hadn't even noticed until he felt it's fur on his hand. Slowly, the teenager closed his hand on tiny little creature and picked it up, stroking its head lightly. "Shite," Lucas swore quietly, turning to Matty once more, "Now what?"

The girl nodded silently, watching Lucas carefully. Matty's green eyes kept a close eye on the squirrel, in case it decided to dart away from Lucas, instead coming in closer reach to the girl. Thus however, this did not happen, thankfully. Her eyes looked up to Lucas as he raised his finger, signaling for Matty to remain quiet for the sake of catching the squirrel. Unlike Lucas, Matty wasn't aware of the fact that this furry little creature was drawn to a yellow leaf. Because this came into place, the Hufflepuff was also absent to the meaning of how the squirrel and leaf both came into consciousness of the Room of Requirement, due to these lack of facts she couldn't put the two and two together at this stage.
As Lucas managed to draw the squirrel closer into grasp, the girl held her breath. For the sake of Felicity and Lucas, Matty wished for him to be able to hand that creature to Felicity with pride. Her heart beat became stronger as the silent moments went on, fighting for the urge to take in more air. At last however, the older boy was able to put a hand around the Squirrel, keeping it within his hold. Letting out a breath quietly, Matty smiled gently and began to stand up. Reaching her full, average height, the girl glanced from the squirrel in Lucas' hold, to the boy himself. "We could try and find Felicity, but that could prove to be hard. Maybe we should try and keep it safe for the night without harming it, but how?" the girl threw in a few, maybe useless ideas, but they were suggestions all the same.
