Okay, Ash did not hate Drew- nor did she hate Ari- she only hates Mike. Though the writer of Ash doesn't blame them for feeling that way- she could be a big pain. Ash jumped, at the sudden sound of the door opening, hitting her head on the wall. She winced, rubbing the side of her head that stung. Ouch... She quickly straightened up; if anyone was coming out, she wouldn't take a chance that it was Jack, Arianna, Allegra, or Drew. She got up quickly and tried to hide behind a corner, nearby. Man, it'd be so awkward to see them... she should have gone to the Owlery or maybe the Armor Gallery. How stupid was she to sit out here? Ash took a deep breath and looked down at her shoes. Why did she always have to make situations uncomfortable? The fourth year sniffled and gave a sigh. ((thought I should start out with your last post )) Stepping outside the common room with Juni in her arms, Arianna glaced around the corridor and frowned. She couldn't see Ash and wondered if the girl had ran off somewhere. Arianna had no clue how she was supposed to talk to Ash if she had run off and hidden somewhere. "Come on Juni," the girl sighed, though the cat really had no choice. At least he wasn't fighting her to get away. "You'll help me find her, right? You're better at that than I am." Heading off toward the stairs, Arianna paused when she heard a sniffle. She looked around, but didn't see anything until she came around the corner and found herself looking right at Ash. "Erm...hi," she greeted the girl softly. "I...I came to see if you were alright."

(( Are we on the towers?))
Ash looked up quickly to find Arianna, one of the few people she didn't feel like talking to at the moment. She flushed a little and moved aside, to make room for the other Ravenclaw. She forced a small smile upon her face and leaned back against a stone wall. " Hey...."
She didn't know what to say and felt so uncomfortable, especially after that blowup she had just had in the common room. Ash knew that she shouldn't have done it- she should have just kept quiet like always. It was a bad idea to go and seek drama.

((or where ever you ran off to )) Arianna watched Ash carefully. The girl looked...sad. Arianna wasn't sure what had happened, but she felt bad that the younger Ravenclaw would ever think that she hated her. She couldn't even figure out what she had done to make Ash feel that way. "Erm....mind if I sit?" she questioned, motioning to the floor beside Ash. She could've just gone ahead and sat down, of course, but didn't want to push it.

She shook her head and slid down the wall herself, to sit. She sighed and forced a smile to her face, "I'm sorry, Ari. I shouldn't have blown up..."
Ash truly meant this and was so disappointed in herself, she had worked do hard just to not have another one of her 'tempers'. She straightened the hems of her skirts and tried to think of what she should say once Arianna asked why she would have ever gotten the idea that she'd hated her, which she was bound to.

Arianna moved to the floor and sat quietly for a long while, hugging Juni to her chest. The cat purred contently all the while. Arianna would have found it odd that he had been so calm the last few minutes if she weren't so worried about Ash.
"What...What did I do to make you think I hate you?" she questioned quietly, biting her lip after she spoke. She would feel terrible if she really had done something to upset Ash so much.

She was held speechless and dared not to let another word escape from her lips. At home, anything she said was held meaningless. Her words hardly mattered to her mother and eachtime she did try to speak up, she was shut up. Ash was silent at home, her opinions were bad. Now that she could actually speak- her mouth didn't do her any good. In fact, it got her into trouble she often tried to avoid- like this.
She shook her head lightly, " You didn't do anything. I just sort of... lost myself there." she wished that she could have come up with something better than that. After a few moments she finally spoke again, " Ari, I'm sorry... I really am. I don't know what got into me... "

"You're sure?" Arianna asked, eying the girl carefully. Maybe Ash was right. Maybe it really was nothing. Arianna, however, still could not believe that she hadn't provoked the reaction. She really didn't want to press it, though. Especially since she and Ash were just getting to know each other.
"If I ever DO do anything that makes you feel like that, just let me know, okay?" she tried small smile in Ash's direction in hopes of easing the girl's worries and let her know that there were no hard feelings. "Just try to be a bit quieter about it or else it'll be Xin vs Shriver instead of the old Shriver vs Thornton."

Ash shook her head, accidentally whipping Ari with a mouth full of hair. She stopped immediately, " I'm so sorry! I really am! So sorry! I didn't mean to!" she cried dipping her head in shame and squeezing her hands. She didn't want to upset her... she had already done enough to upset everyone tonight. She slowly looked up at Ari as her words finally got through Ash's head completely, " Shriver vs Thornton?"
She frowned. She thought that they were like the best of friends. Like Sam and Frodo, or Terrance and Philip, or even Potter and Weasley. Had she been wrong about this and they had secretly hated eachother this whole entire time? Man, she could be absolutely clueless sometimes. "I thought you two were really close... " Ash said quietly.

"It's okay, it's okay!" Arianna assured Ash. Sure, it wasn't very comfortable to get whacked in the face with a bunch of hair, but it could be worse. Ash could have elbowed her in a sensitive spot instead. Even then, Arianna would have know that it wasn't on purpose. She couldn't help wondering why the girl was so uptight; why everything she did needed an apology. They'd certainly have to work on Ash.
"Oh, I don't mean we aren't," the older girl quickly put in, hoping Ash didn't get the wrong idea. "Drew's one of my best friends. Always has been. But that doesn't mean we haven't gotten into some arguments. At one point, I'm sure everyone wondered if something was wrong if we didn't get into a shouting match at least once a week."

"Really?" she cheered up at this. Perhaps that was the same with her and Drew- but wait- she always got into fights with him. It was like almost inevitable. The fourth year sighed and pursed her lips. " Does he argue with everyone?"
She stared at her fingers and began to play with them. It was quite an annoying habit that she had.

Arianna raised an eyebrow. She didn't know much about what went on between Ash and Drew, but really didn't think it was as bad as either of them thought it was.
"No, not everyone," Arianna replied, shaking her head. Juni had lept off her lap and nudged at Ash's arm, obviously having no clue that the younger girl didn't like cats. "Only with stubborn ones like me." she grinned at this comment.

Ash shivered as Juni ran by her arm. She felt herself stiffen up and the hairs on her neck pricking. The fourth year tried to ignore it but her reaction to the situation was very obvious. She never favored cats...
".. I'm not stubborn..." Was she? She didn't think she was. If she was then, she didn't try to be! But she did stand up for what she believed in... sometimes. " Do you think I am?" she said softly and her hands had stopped the twiddling.
Ash continued to look at them, however, waiting for her answer. Maybe she was...

"I don't know. I'm just getting to know you," Arianna replied, not ready to make any sort of judgment on the girl. She was still processes sing the last ten minutes and really didn't want to upset anyone further. "At least, I hope you'll still let me get to know you better..."
Giving Ash a hopeful look, Arianna reached over and grabbed Juni before he bothered Ash too much. It really was too bad the younger girl didn't like cats. Juni was really fun and playful. Ash might've had fun with the cat, too, if she wanted to.

Ash nodded, squeezing her hands. " I will- I'm not mad at you or anything... since I have no reason to be. I'm just sorry this night had turned out so terribly." She felt herself sigh, softly, when Ari had taken away the cat. They weren't horrible creatures, she just didn't like them- at all.
Folding her hands together, she rolled a few strands of hair behind her ear. Maybe Arianna did think she was stubborn; people always said things like that when they didn't want to be mean. But she didn't know and didn't trust herself to make anymore assumptions. " Um, can I tell you something?"
WHAT. THE. HECK. ARE. YOU. DOING? You can't tell her! You haven't even told Lauren! Ivy doesn't even know! What the heck?! Your journal doesn't even know! How do you know if you even know!? ASH- you are being crazy- you can't tell her!

"Um...sure," Arianna replied slowly. Not because she didn't want to hear what Ash would ask, but because she wasn't certain Ash would really want to ask her. After all, they hardly knew each other. Plus, not even Arianna's friends really ever bothered to ask her stuff. Though she could be a little paranoid at times when it came to her friends and whether or not they really trusted her. She coudln't help it somedays, though.
