Watching the two leave, Tamis returned her gaze to the rest of the staff. This was definitely not her area of expertise. She worked better among the students than among her own when it came to these sort of things.
"The students are going to be the first suspects, and then, by prior -- history -- of the school, the staff will become the next likely on the list. The perusing weeks are going to be difficult. I trust I do not have to ask any of you to not tell the students anymore than you have to. Do not tell the ministry anything. The less all of you appear to know, or in fact do know, the better."
She singled out Davenport, whom had been the first on the scene with the students. "Especially yourself, Becca. I know you will not reveal the names of the students who were on the scene or yourself. If the Ministry has not actual evidence, they cannot go off anything but what the tabloids give them."
Another paused and a let-upon sigh. It had been a while since this sort of thing, but she had been working on the side of the ministry then. It was also her reasoning for getting everyone out so quickly and lagging behind herself. Any evidence currently that could be presented left Tamis as an only suspect, she had made sure of that. But the Ministry still knew that students and another staff member had been on the scene. Too many problems.
"Everyone will need to be on their toes. Look out for students under extensive distress, and perhaps some too un-phased. We will also need to keep an eye open for possible intruders, the murder is still out there after all."
