Lauren shook her red hair of snowflakes. It so easily transitioned into the winter season. It was her first day here, and she saw nothing so far that impressed her. Sniffling, she heaved an inward sigh.
Lauren stepped more into the building, while fidgeting with her new uniform. "Hello?" She muttered, looking around the large hall she was now in.

"Hello," Lily answered her. She was coming out of the great hall. She was almost done with the peanut butter rice krispie treat with chocolate on top she was eating. She finished and wiped her hands on her pants. She took in the girl. "New I take it? I'm Lily, welcome to Hogwarts."

Lauren looked at the girl briefly. She seemed to be a bit older than her, maybe a year or two. She seemed confident enough; Lauren could probably use her around the castle. She extended her hand, head held high.
"Yeah, I'm new. Got here only a few moments ago. My name's Lauren, Lily." She said.

"Cool," Lily said with a smile. "So welcome again to Hogwarts," she turned around and gestured to the hall. "I'm a 5th year Ravenclaw. I've been here a while, so I know mostly everything. Not mostly everyone though. But enough people."

Lauren just nodded. "Okay," she said.
"So if you know everything, then tell me, do I have to check into my common room or whatever before I do anything? Because, honestly, I just got here and I don't feel like being in a room for an hour sorting things out with anyone." Lauren asked bluntly.
"By the way, I'm a Slytherin, Third Year. Or, at least, that's what they tell me." She added.

"Not everything," Lily corrected. "Only mostly everything. But no, you don't have to go straight to your common room. Most people do, but you don't have to. At least not as far as I know. Slytherin eh?" Lily said. "Slytherin's an interesting house with me."

"Good. I'll get settled in later, after I've been around a bit." Lauren announced. "Yes, Slytherin," she confirmed. "Why, what do you mean?" Lauren quesitoned her.

"Well," Lily said, holding up her two hands like a balancing scale. "On the one hand, I hate a lot of the guts of some of the Slytherins for what they did. But then there's the other hand, my boyfriend's a Slytherin. Quite ironic actually I think."

"Interestingly enough, I don't care about Ravenclaws. From the stories I've heard, they're about as close to Slytherins, which would mean my personality, out of the other classes. Atleast that's what I've heard, but I could be wrong." Lauren stated, and quickly changed the subject. "So, who's your boyfriend?"

Lily shook her head. "We may be brillant," she said. "And we may prank, but most Slytherins are just cruel." When she mentioned her boyfriend she instantly became a bit colder, not on purpose. "Nicolae Torque. Hands off, and I mean that." She didn't want another Ari scare.

Lauren shrugged, "Well if you say so, it must be true. I mean you know just about everything, right?" Giving a smirk, "Nicolae Torque? Hmm. . ." she considered making a nasty comment, but Lily was still older than she was, so she shrugged that idea off. "Ok, what ever you say."

"I told you," Lily said. "Not everything." She crossed her arms. She was already getting a very bad impression of this girl. She was going to be one of those Slytherins. Those nasty Slytherins. She could tell already. If she even went near Nic, Lily might just let something nasty slip into her pumpkin juice. Ari was only lucky she hadn't ran into Lily before Lily had time to cool off.

Lauren cocked an eyebrow at Lily, reading her definite non-positive body language. "Calm down, Lily. It's called humor. You know some of us evils no how to smile, but only every once in a while." Lauren said lightly.

"I don't deal with humor well," Lily answered seriously. She was always so up-tight, so tense. She just needed to relax more sometimes, but she couldn't. She just couldn't shake that sense of this was someone she needed to be wary of.

Lauren really didn't know how to respond. She had never met anyone with such a dry sense of humor, and she hadn't known her but a matter of minutes.
"I'm sorry, I guess," she said blankly.
