"I'll meet you in the Leaky Cauldron at 4!" the young girl's voice called back to her father and younger sister. David peered over the crowd in the streets with a worried expression; with all of the 'Eleven' happenings and Thorne's murder, his heart raced as his watched his eldest daughter disappear into the mob of wizards and witches which crowded Diagon Alley that Thursday afternoon. The sounding clock chimed 2:30 pm; if Abby wasn't in the Leaky Cauldron by exactly four o'clock, he was sending out a search party. He had debated for nearly twenty minutes on whether to let her on her own or not.
The day was beautiful; white clouds littered the brilliantly blue sky and rays of light from the sun beat down on the numerous shops lining the cobblestone street. It was warm, and a cool breeze was blowing. As David and Elizabeth entered Flourish and Blotts, Abigail Bennett ventured down the alley with a smile plastered on her lips. Her long chestnut hair was pulled back into a ponytail, and her brown eyes were alert and bright as she watched the people chatter and laugh as they walked passed her. Swinging a bag back and forth with the crest of the Menagerie on it, the incoming second year at Hogwarts gazed into the windows at the display items. She stopped short at Quality Quidditch Supplies and couldn't help but stare in awe with the other kids at the Horntail 4000 resting on a velvet cushion in the large display window. It was gorgeous. Long, sleek, brown handle, smooth bristles, and a wide seat cushion for long rides. Her eyes flashed to the price tag--waaay out of her league.
Sighing with longing, the Hufflepuff continued on her way down the street. She needed to stop in Zonko's and pick something up for Krissy, but that was a ways down the alley. In the mean time she would just window shop. She blended in with the rest of the crowd, wearing a pair of blue jeans, a white short-sleeved top, and a blue pair of robes over top of it all. Light and airy for comfort in the summer, of course. Her sneakers made soft thuds against the cobblestone and only added to the loud noise--it was quite busy for a Thursday.

Koren was shopping with her mother today. Her daddy wouldn't dare go shopping with them because he complained all the time. "What's taking so long?" "Didn't you find anything you want yet?" and all those other things which eventually lead to "I'm going down to the pub." Koren loved her daddy yes, bu the didn't know a thing about going shopping with ladies. Faye Hurst and her daughter had just come from getting new robes made for a fancy party they would be attending later in the week. Then a lady with big red earrings and matching robes stopped her mother. The she was a beast of a women but Koren held her tongue. Instead she just looked from face to face as each woman chatted.
"How are you Linda?" asked her mother. "Fine, fine. Ooo. Is this your daughter? Look how big she is," said the the big woman named Linda. "Yes, she is a beauty. Takes after me and little from her father. Did you hear about...." said her mother. Koren lost interest and instead looked around at all the people going by. Some were wearing such bright colors and other's were dressed like they were going to a funeral. She herself was dressed in a pink button blouse and a blue jean pleated skirt. Her robes were pink, the same color as her blouse. On her feet were white shoes that looked new. Her short blond hair was loose.
It was great to be out in the world again. Hogwarts had been..exciting towards the end to say the least. What with all the happenings which she didn't want to think about. Koren moved away from the two chatting women and made her way towards another shop. One that held all lovely things for writing. Quills, parchment, anything you can name they had it. In the display window was a set of parchment paper that flashed different colors. Flashy but it wasn't impressive. She moved to go back to her mother and her enormous friend when she smacked into a girl her age dressed in jeans, blue robes, and a white shirt. "Sorry," she muttered seeing if the girl was alright. She needed someone to talk to about now.

Abigail fell back a little more than expected; Koren had taken her by surprise. Readjusting her bag so that it hung from her arm once more and fixing her robes, the Huffle looked up with a smile. "No probl-," she began to answer the girl but stopped. "Hey, don't I know you from somewhere?" Staring at her a little impolitely, Abigail finally finished, "Yeah, you go to Hogwarts, don't you?" She recognized her from their many classes together but never actually spoke to her nor introduced herself.
Abby had been looking at the flashing parchment as well; it wasn't what she would buy, but it was interesting to watch the changing colors. She now shifted her attention to the Slytherin and awaited her response.

Koren looked the brown haired brown eyed girl who was the same height as her and same age. Actually she did recognize the girl from her classes. She was usually around another huffle girl in their same year. She kind of knew the name of the other girl. Started with an L....Lia, Lindsey, Lita, Lily. No, definately not that one. She knew who Lily was...Just thinking about her made Koren want to curse and spit. She didn't though because ladies didn't act that way. Eck. Sometime though her anger did get the best of her she had to admit. Koren looked back over at her mother who was now in an animated discussion with the big woman. "Yeah, I do go to Hogwarts. My name's Koren Hurst. And I'm sorry but I never learned what your's was."
Always corteous and to introduce one's self to another. Koren held herself like a lady after taking more etiquette classes the moment school got out. Her mother's idea of course to try and make sure she hadn't forgot her lessons after being in a school with other kids who...were....well...Koren would keep her mouth shut on that. Some of her fellow slytherins were a bit crazed and definately barbarric in her opinion. But enough of them. That was neither her nor there.

"Abigail Bennett," she replied. "Nice to formally meet you," she smiled, for technically they had already kind of met. Abby followed the gaze of Koren to two women who were talking on the other side of the street. "Is she your mother?" she asked, nodding toward the skinnier of the two. There was a resemblance between the Slythie and the woman, though Abby wasn't entirely sure so she figured best to ask and not assume. You know what they say when people assume...

Koren nodded looking at Abigail. There was a resemblance between Faye Hurst and her daughter Koren. They both had the same light blond hair and the same big gray eyes. Her mom was slim, not skinny because she was in shape. She had also taken her height. Koren had her father's build, smile, and nose. During Koren's first year at Hogwarts she had a little baby fat but now there was none. Kinda nice actually. "Yes, smashing. Hey, do you want to do something? I really don't feel like standing here while they," she said nodding over to her mom and her big friend, "talk."
Koren was willing to try and have fun with a girl of her fellow year. Couldn't hurt afterall. Though she did have a tendency to run into trouble wherever she went. But that was half the fun. You had to break a little rules sometimes. Or bend them. Whichever worked.

Abby shrugged. "Sure, are you allowed? I'm not doing anything until four." She checked her watch; it read nearly three. She glanced at the two women again. They were heavily engaged, and Abigail knew how long it took for adults to finish conversations. "What do you want to do?" The Huffle was actually thinking of going into the ice cream parlor, but it didn't matter to her where they went.

She had no intention of asking to leave. She was just going to do it. Koren would be gone and back and her mother would be none to wiser. But where to go? There were so many places that she could have gone but she didn't know which place to go to. Well to eliminate some, she didn't want to go into any clothing stores, educational stores, and any store having to do with sports of any kind. Well that still left many places to go. So she decided to choose one of the stores that she wasn't allowed to go. One of the places that her mother had deemed "unfit" for civilized people. So there she would go.
"How about Weasly's Wizard Wheezes? I believe that's the name of the place. Let's go there." Koren had never been there and she wasn't allowed to go there. Especially there. All the more reason to go then. She didn't really know where it was though so Abigail would have to lead the way.

"Alright, I have to go there anyway and pick some things up." Abigail set off down the street at a rather slow pace, enjoying the day with a wide smile on her face (woot, rhyme xD). She weaved her way through countless witches and wizards, dodging the swinging of shopping bags and avoiding getting squished by the big adults. Hoping Koren was following her, Abby asked, "Have you ever been in Wheezes before?" She abbreviated the name of the store-it was too much of a tongue-twister to say everytime.

"Nope. Which makes it the perfect place to go about now," she said matter-of-factly. Koren was following behind Abigail. She wasn't even bothering to the look at all the shops they passed on the way there. She had no reason to because she had not interest in them. She did look at the people they passed though. They could be interesting. Like the wizard with the purple hat and orange robe. Another stout woman was dressed all in yellow like a big duck. A little kid that was younger than her was throwing a fit and Koren watched him do it. He was kicking and screaming and jumping up and down while tears streamed down his cheeks. Koren could have taught him a few things.
"So I've seen you with that other Huffle girl. Li- something. Is she like your best friend or what?" Koren might as well get to know someone leading her off to a forbidden shop. Forbidden at least to her.

Abby nodded. "Mhm, that's Lianna Maylorn. She was pretty much my tour guide when I transfered to Hogwarts. Now we're best friends." She smiled at the thought of her Huffle sister and wondered what the girl might be doing over break; she hadn't seen her since they parted at Platform Nine and Three-Quarters.
Abigail dodged the little boy screaming his head off, slowing down just a tad to watch his mother try and quiet him down with the bribe of a large multi-colored lollipop. Averting her gaze to Koren, for she didn't want to stare and be rude, Abby asked, "Who do you hang out with? Michea Devries?" She was referring to the other Slytherin first year, though she hadn't seen her for a while and wasn't sure if the girl had dropped out of Hogwarts or something.

That was it! Koren knew the name was something like it. Lianna Maylorn. She stored the name away so she wouldn't forget it. Koren watched the boy get a nice big lollipop to calm him down. Amateur. He could have gotten something better than that if he had put his mind to it. Switching back to Abigail Koren heard her say something about Michea. The other Slytherin girl in their year. "Michea and I never really hung out. We spoke to each other. One time in the common room she found me in a wardrobe crises. That's about it. The other Slytherins...well...they need help," she said like she was stating the obvious.
Actually come to think of it. None of the Slytherins were espcecially nice. No surprise there. But there were none her age either. They were all older than her. Which kinda sucked but she got to explore a lot more. True, she did end up in trouble during those situations, but hey. It was adventure. Koren looked ahead and saw a bunch of people rushing into a single shop. Perhaps it would be better to be more specific. She saw a bunch of kids rushing into a shop. The parents should have gotten them leashes by the way they were behaving. Hmmm. Was that the Weasley shop place? "Is that place up there it? Seems like it."
It had to be. Though she couldn't see the shop window or the name yet it fit the description. Unruly children. Haggard parents. Screaming. Pushing. Shoving. Louds noises. And uncontrollable laughter. Sounds like a place that her mother wouldn't let her go for sure.

Abby looked ahead at the mentioned shop of Koren's question and narrowed her eyes at a dangling sign blowing slightly in the breeze. "Yep, that's it," she nodded as her gaze shifted to the groups of kids pushing their way through the open door. A loud boom issued from the store which only confirmed Abigail's answer.
Nearing Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, the Huffle tried to push her way through the crowd entering and exiting through the small door. She finally managed to slip through and into the rather bright (but small) room. Cracks and snaps and small explosions erupted from different parts of the room, and giggles and gasps followed in suit. Abby stepped to the side and waited for Koren to enter, hoping the small girl hadn't gotten crushed by the mob of wanna-be pranksters.
"So you don't like your housemates much?" she asked a bit loudly when she caught sight of a small blonde head.

Koren pushed her way through the bloody heathens. After getting through the door Koren saw something that she never though she would ever see. Kids swarmed over toys. Loud bangs. Whirring sounds. Explosions. Kids were screaming. Snapping sounds could ber heard from the left of her. A kid with the biggest smile on his face through the door she had barely got through, and he was holding a big box in his hands. She barely heard the other girl over the noise. "I suppose they have to be good for something, but I wouldn't hang out with them all the time! One of them almost attacked me. All for a stupid candy bar and I told him I didn't have one!"
Koren was talking loudly so she could be heard over the noise. Then something caught her eyes. It was a cute pink tube. Koren picked it up and read the label. According to what it said there were small chocolate mints inside. Well Koren loved chocolate! She needed to try one first so she looked around, and not seeing a store clerk opened it up and try to pour one in her hand. Nothing came out. So she held it up to her eye line and saw them inside, but they wouldn't come out. So she did what anyone would do. She shook it and something did come out. Pink gloop the color of the tube squirted out all over her face and dripped unto her pink blouse. Omg! What in the bloody hell is this mess! Mother isn't going to like this one bit.
Koren quickly tried to wipe the stuff off with her hands but there was a lot of it. So she looked around for a hanky or something. She spotted some white cloth things and wiped her face and blouse with it, but the cloth made it worse because it bled with black stuff. So now her face and blouse were both pink and black. What kind of shop if this?!

Meanwhile Abby stood off to the side, surpressing her laughter but looking at Koren with an amused expression plastered on her face. "I should've warned you," she said as the Slytherin held a now black cloth. Abigail offered a handful of tissues from her robes pocket to Koren; although they wouldn't get the black and pink off of her blouse, she could at least clean up her face. "Maybe one of the clerks can use the scourgify spell or something and get that stuff off your shirt," she suggested with another glance at the blouse.
Scanning the shelves, Abby tried to find the items she needed to pick up for Krissy (also looking for something she might find interesting). She pulled out a list from her other pocket and skimmed over the mentioned things before moving her gaze to the shelf right before her. "Invisible paint, check," she said quietly to herself as she pulled an enclosed bucket off the shelf.
Invisible Paint-causes anything it is applied to to become invisible; washes off with water.
She then looked back up at Koren. "Is the stuff coming off?" Abby couldn't really tell by looking at the girl's face.
