Extend the car? Jason thought to himself wondering if Brax was talking about magically extending it or just laying a few of the seats down. He had a feeling though that it was the first one that Brax was referring to, which if that was the case he had no idea how that could possibly work. He had never seen a car that had been modified to stretch but then again he had never heard about the wizarding community until Ryan had gotten his letter from Hogwarts and called him. Even then he had thought that Ryan was just messing with him, until, Ryan had insisted that he come with him to pick up his things for school. “We might have to try that.” Ryan’s dad said with a smile, not wanting to ignore Brax’s suggestion but not knowing quite what to say. After all he wouldn’t be able to extend it magically, but he guessed he could put the seats down that connected the trunk to the back seats. That might help.
“More than enough.” Jason said with a laugh walking over to meet the Spicers halfway. He had said it in a kidding tone, but he meant it in a way. He didn’t see why Ryan needed every positions gear. Couldn’t the boy just pick one position and stick with it? Nope he wanted to try them all.
Ryan was still holding his package, ready to rip into it, when Braxton asked if it was really his broom or not. He just smiled to himself. It had always been Braxton’s broom, but he could see how Brax might want to be sure about it. It was just Braxton’s way.
“Of course you can keep it.” Jason said with a grin, “Who else would I have boughten it for? Ryan here certainly doesn’t need two. He can’t even ride one yet.”

“Thanks!” Braxton said with a huge grin on his face. It had never occurred to him that the broom was for him, but he wasn’t about to admit that out loud. “You want to see it?” he asked ripping into the package ecstatically before his parents could even respond. He just wanted to show them his new broom and couldn’t wait to get it out.
Taking the hint from Brax, Corbin also ripped into his and it wasn’t long before the little guy was hovering off of the ground sitting on it. “Thanks,” he said with a smile as he sat on the broom and watched Brax struggling to get into his.
“That was awfully nice of you Jason. You really didn’t need to do that Brax and Corbin would have been fine without one.” Braxton’s mom said with a smile as she watched her son rip into his package making no attempt to keep it neat.

“My pleasure.” Ryan’s dad said still grinning. His smile widened as the little one ripped into his and started riding it right away. “I know they would have but I wanted them to have one too.” Jason said turning his attention to Brax’s mom as she spoke to him, “This way the boys can both have one.”
Ryan had seen Brax going after his wrap and his philosophy became if Brax can do it then so can I. “Want to see mine too?” Ryan asked Brax’s parents as he slid his fingernail down one side of the package and had it open in a matter of moments. His dad just looked over at him in a way that clearly said, ‘Couldn’t you have waited until at least we got back to the hotel?’ But refrained from saying it because he could see how happy the kids were to open them up and show them off to Brax’s parents and he wasn’t about to ruin Ryan’s happiness.

“Thanks Jason, really I think you made their day,” Brax’s dad said with a smile watching them all. “Sure Ryan we would love too see yours as well.” he added hearing the boys question.
Once the packaging was off Braxton noticed that there was also a pair of keeper gloves in it. Were those his to? They had to be, didn’t they since they were in the same package as his broom. He thought he remembered Jason asking for them to be wrapped with this broom, besides Ryan had picked out blue ones and these ones were trimmed in orange. They were the ones that Braxton had tried on and loved. Looking over in Ryan’s direction he saw that he had also ripped into his and sure enough there were his gloves, which confirmed it for Brax. Beaming Braxton threw them on before picking up his broom and showing it to his mum and dad. He explained every little detail to them from what make and model it was to it’s standing among the rest.
It looked as if the cats were enjoying the presents as well, batting around all of the paper. Each cat had been outfitted with a little collar and leash so that they wouldn’t run away from Brax’s parents when the boys were in the store and were now at the end of both trying to see if they could get the paper to lay flat.

Showing off his broom to whoever would look at it Ryan noticed that the shop keeper had packaged his keeper gloves in with his broom also. They were awesome in his view. They were a dark colored glove with bright blue highlights, his favorite color no less. Slipping them on he turned to Brax, “We should give them a go right now.” He said hoping that Brax would consent to show him how to ride one.
He didn’t get very far with his little plan, however. His dad wasn’t about to let them fly around in the alley. They might hit someone and injure them or worse yet injure themselves. No he wasn’t going to allow that to happen. “Ry, you aren’t going to fly them here. You’ll just have to wait and fly them somewhere less crowded.” he said cutting across Ryan as he went to say something else to Braxton.
“But it won’t hurt anything.” Ryan protested.
“Ryan I said no and I mean no.” Jason said wanting to make it perfectly clear that he was serious about this and really wasn’t going to let him ride it down the alley no matter what Ryan said. He might not have held his ground over the whole broom issue but he certainly would here.

“Ya it’s probably best if you guys wait until you are somewhere a little less crowded,” Braxton’s mom said with a smile over in their direction. She knew they were excited to try them, but this definitely wasn’t the place, nor the time. “Brax you can wait until we get back to the house later this evening, and if Ryan and his dad likes they can join us for dinner there. That way you can show him how to ride that broom of his. That is if they don’t have anywhere else that they need to be. Then you’ll just have to wait and show him a different time.” she added still smiling.
Braxton was all ready to show Ryan how to fly his broom when he heard Ryan’s dad tell them no. He hadn’t even had time to get off a sure lets, before the adults put the kibosh on it. Well at least there was still a chance he would get to ride with Ryan, that was an upside, well unless they had something else they needed to do, in which case, would be a little disappointing but understandable.

Jason was glad to hear that Brax’s parents also thought that it would be a bad idea to let the kids tear up and down the street on the brooms. Though realistically he didn’t know how much tearing it up that Ryan would be able to do since he hadn’t ever been on one before and if it was anything like riding a bicycle then it would take some practice to get the hang of it. It sounded like a better idea to let the boys play on them later when they were in an area that was suited for that.
“Ya! That would be awesome.” Ryan said enthusiastically when Brax’s mom brought up going over to Brax’s house and riding brooms there. He didn’t even bother to get his dad’s opinion on the matter. They were going. They had to. He wanted to ride his broom and needed Brax to show him, not to mention, it just meant that he would be able to hang out with Brax for a little while longer.
“If it’s not to much trouble that would be great.” Ryan’s dad said with a smile.

“It’s no problem at all,” Braxton’s mom said with a smile.
“Ya it would be great to have you guys over,” Brax’s dad added with a grin. They would love to have Ryan and Jason over for dinner, and thought it would be nice for the boys to get to spend time together before they went off to Hogwarts. Just then Corbin came hovering by on his broom which caught Brax’s dads attention. “Excuse me for a minute.” he said as he went to catch the little tike. “I think we should but the brooms up until later on tonight.” he said taking the little broom away from Corbin.
“Aww...ok I guess,” Braxton said walking over to his wrap and wondering how he was going to wrap it back up. Giving up and deciding he would just walk around with it unwrapped he waited for the others. Identifying the problem Brax’s dad waved his wand and the boy’s brooms were wrapped back up in their original packages.

Ryan thought that it was the coolest thing when all of the sudden his broom was back in its packaging. “Can you show us how to do that?” he asked in awe thinking that he at least would like to be able to do some kind of magic and maybe Brax’s dad wouldn’t mind showing him the simple spell he used on the broom’s packaging.
Jason, who too was had a bit of a stunned look on his face, recovered and grabbed Ryan’s broom to carry it for him with all of the other things that he had bought so that Ryan could carry his cat and his owl when they finally went to pick it up.

Braxton's dad just smiled at the expressions on Ryan and Jason's face. He had forgotten that they weren't use to magic. "Sure," he said with a smile looking down at Ry, "It's a really simple spell. You just take out your wand and point it at whatever you are trying to repair and then say reparo"
Still holding his own broom Brax looked up and watched how the spell worked. He still had his gloves on, but managed to hold his wrapped broom and kitten. Once Brax's dad had showed them how to work the spell Braxton's parents decided to go back to the hotel and drop the stuff off before going back out to get an ice cream or a bite to eat.
"We're going to go drop the stuff off at the hotel and then grab a bite to eat or something," Brax said to Ryan wondering if he was going to do the same. "Are you guys going to come with us too?" he asked smiling.

Ryan was overly excited that Braxton's dad had actually consented to show him a spell and wanted to give it a shot the first chance he got. First though he would have to wait for something to break or need repairing before he could try it. Maybe though when they got back to the hotel he would re-unwrap his broom and see if he could then wrap it up magically. Ya that is what he would do he decided as he listened to Braxton. "Sure." Ryan said happily turning his attention away from scheming and on to his friend. He had picked up his kitten the moment his dad had relieved him of his broom and was stroking it while waiting for the adults to finalize a plan.
"That's a good idea." Ryan's dad said still holding all of the packages and thinking that he would be glad to get rid of the load for awhile, "But before we go back to the hotel I need to stop by the pet store and grab something."

"Okay we can stop back there on our way," Brax's dad said as he took Brax's and Corbin's brooms in his hands. He didn't want to have to watch Brax try and balance a kitten and a broom all at the same time, and frankly he thought it might be dangerous to the kitten or Brax's health.
"Sounds good to me," Braxton said with a grin as he headed towards the hotel and the petshop. He couldn't wait to try out his broom, but knew that it would have to wait a while so he would just be happy hanging out and admiring his keeper gloves. With kitten in hand he bounced up and down as he made his way down the alley.

"Just for a minute." Jason said with a smile to Brax's dad, as they started to walk back down the alley. He only wanted to just drop in at the pet store for the briefest of moments to pick up the owls, feeling that he had already spent enough time in that particular store for the day he thought that he would just run in while the others waited outside.
Ryan was keeping up with Braxton as he bounded down the alley with his cat. His first experience in the wizarding world had been a blast. He had met a new friend that would be attending the same school as him and had learned a lot of stuff about the wizarding world. It had been the best two days that he had had in a long time with his dad.

As they made there way down to the shop Corbin was trying to keep up with the older kids just having a great time, but failing to keep up. Even though he couldn't keep up it didn't phase him one bit. He was having just as much fun as Brax and Ryan were. As they got to the shop the kids slowed down and waited for the adults to catch up to them. Braxton took a seat at one of the tables with his kitten and waited for Ryan's dad to go into the shop and come back out. His parents and brother also decided to wait outside.

Ryan had taken a seat next to Brax and was letting his kitten play on the table. His dad quickly ran into the store and conversed with the shop keeper. Reappearing ten minutes later he was laden with two owl cages and a couple more packages. He had set the other packages that he was carrying down next to Ryan so that he wouldn't have to take them all into the store with him. Clutching the two owl cages, one in each hand, he set the cages on the table where the kids were. "Here ya guys go. Now you guys can send each other owls, I guess that is what they are called, well letters anyways." Jason said not really sure what the letters were called in the wizarding world. All he knew was that the first time Ryan sent his owl to his house his wife would freak out. He could just imagine her reaction.
