"Then why did they have to interrogate me?" Lucas complained as she pulled him through the crowd. He was jostled and pushed by some people, muttering "sorry" every once in a while when he got in the way. He didn't know what the heck Felicity was doing, but he figured she had something in mind, so he tagged along. "If he's a detective," Lucas continued, "Then he knew everything about me already. So I was scared for no reason." The Raven was slightly upset by that, now that he knew he'd gone through all that for nothing. But still, he got to spend the day with Felicity, so that made up for it. A little.
"Would you mind telling me where we're going, exactly?" Lucas called to the girl.

"Not for no reason," she replied, still leading the way around, not sure exactly where it was she was going. She'd heard from her mum, who'd been the day before, about a keen preforming group that wasn't made up of creatures. Some little group that was preforming a short play, and she wanted to see it. The only thing was she wasn't sure where it was being held at. And with all of the tempting wares, she was getting side-tracked.
"They wanted to make sure what you told them was the truth, and that you weren't straying even a toe from what they knew. If you had, I wouldn't be here with you now," she explained, pausing a moment to look around. Her mum had done her best to explaine where she'd seen the performance, and Felicity was sure it was right around the area they were at. "Plus, they wanted to see if you'd give them any information aside from what Harold already came across. And to tell the truth, I don't think Harold tells my dad all of the information, I think he's usually there to confirm that what is said is truth as he knows it to be, but I don't think my dad knows all of it, and he wanted to know about you."
Turning completely around, she twirled Lucas around with her, where was it? Then she saw a flash of colour, not far away. "Right over there!" she exclaimed excitedly as she pulled at his hand for him to follow her in that direction.

Lucas felt like a puppet being led around by Felicity. His feet were barely even touching the ground now as she turned this way and that. He did his best to avoid crashing into people but the Gryffindor was making it fairly difficult. He sighed slightly, still a little ticked off about the whole interrogation but he knew he should let it go an enjoy the day. However, there was one other thing he needed to bring up before they could just have fun.
"Felicity, I need to apologize to you again," he told the girl as she whipped around again and led him off in yet another direction, "I need to apologize for...Deryn. I know you probably don't like her a whole bunch, but she asked me to tell you she was sorry for that day at the Quidditch match." Lucas wasn't sure if Felicity was even listening.

Stopping in her tracks, she swung around to face the Ravenclaw. The blonde hadn't made mention of the incident in the brief passings they'd had, and he hadn't either, rather she thought Deryn hadn't even said anything about it so she'd been willing to play along. However, it seemed she'd yet again been played.
The freckle-nosed girl hadn't forgiven him for playing with her, she'd just decided to gleam over that little fact and act as though nothing had happened, why did he bring it up?
"You shouldn't apologize for her actions," she replied a bit coldly. "If she were sorry about what she'd done and said, she'd tell me herself." True, she wasn't feeling fond of her denmate, but she'd be willing to come to an agreement if she were. How that agreement would be arranged, she didn't know, but she'd be willing to try if Deryn were.
Sighing, she looked up at the boy and thought about what he was saying. "Lucas, it really hurt that she did what she did, but I'm sorry I can't like you like that. It wouldn't be fair to say I did when I truly don't."

"I know it did, and I didn't ask her to do it," Lucas tried to explain, already becoming desperate to try and fix this, "I didn't even know she was doing that, I swear. She's just...she's got a lot going on right now." The Raven sighed slightly as he spoke. He knew Deryn had stuff on her mind, but the girl had been quite clear when she told Lucas she wasn't going to talk about it. It worried him that something could bother her so much that she lashed out at her denmates like that and he hoped Felicity could understand. Both girls had become good friends of his and he didn't want to lose either of them.
Lucas had to admit, Felicity's words had still stung a little. He knew there was nothing between them but he couldn't just let go of it. He still had a fragment of hope but wished he didn't. Shoving his hands back in his pockets, Lucas' hand touched the forgotten box that lay there. It was the present Lucas had brought for Felicity, but he wasn't now was such a great time to give it to her. Or perhaps it was the best time and she'd forgive him for being such a dolt. Slowly, the Ravenclaw's hand wrapped around the small box and he pulled it out of his pocket.
Trying to not really look at her, Lucas held the box out to Felicity as a sort of peace offering. "Here, I uh...got this for you," he said quietly. Inside the box was a gold locket on a chain. There was a moving picture of Felicity's squirrel inside it that Lucas had snapped one day while in the newspaper office. He hoped she'd like it.

That very thought had actually flitted through her mind, about the possibilities of why Deryn would've said what she did, but she'd quickly dismissed it. The two she'd decided on were that Lucas was playing a mean trick on her, which she really hoped not, and the second that Deryn actually like the Ravenclaw herself and said what she had to get a rise out of the girl Lucas claimed to like.
Shifting uncomfortably, she looked away from him. She wanted to believe he hadn't put the lioness up to it, but that only left the possibility of her liking him, and Felicity wasn't sure how she felt about that. While it wasn't her business if she did, the way she'd talked to her didn't make her like the girl very much. And the fact Lucas had grabbed at her that day, well, she hadn't liked that much either.
Hearing his tone, she returned her eyes to his face before letting them fall on the box he held out to her. She hadn't known he was getting her anything and she felt extremely bad about not having anything to give in return. In fact, she hadn't gotten any presents for her friends except Drew, and she'd only gotten him one because it'd been brought up between them that they'd get something for the other.
Of course, she still had a few days before Christmas and could very well figure something out. That was what she was going to do, she'd go home and figure something out. Maybe she'd knit him a scarf, that would be a nice gesture, and it wasn't as though it would be out of place or anything of the like.
"You didn't have to get me anything," she replied quietly, but still took the box from his hand. Why had he gotten her something? Perhaps it was because it was a gesture of their friendship, but she wished he'd mentioned something about it beforehand so she'd have something to give in return. She would definitely be sure to come up with something by Christmas, she'd just have to owl it to him. Time to play it as though she'd planned on having something for him all along.
"Your gift isn't going to be ready before Christmas," she told him, sure not to say any more than that.
Lifting the cover from the box, she smiled down at the little necklace in her hands. The chain was elegant, slim, and it was the type that moved easily without crinkling and breaking. It was the perfect kind of chain. And the exquisite little locket was pretty, but she wondered if he'd put something in it or if he'd left it empty. Lifting the chain out of the box and carrying the locket with it, she unclasped it to peer inside and was surprised to see Sammy inside. It really was perfect.
"I love it!" she exclaimed, wrapping her arms around his neck and quickly kissing his cheek. "Thank you, it's so pretty." And it really was. "Will you help me put it on?" she asked, handing the necklace over and turning around to stand with her back to him. Once he was ready she'd be sure to move her blonde locks out of the way until he'd had the clasp done up nicely.

Lucas just shrugged when Felicity said he hadn't had to get her anything. He knew that, but he felt like getting her a present anyways. For a moment, as she opened the box, the Raven was actually terrified that she wasn't going to like it at all, but then her arms were suddenly around his neck and there was a kiss on his cheek. Lucas couldn't help but blush and he chuckled softly when she let go of him and handed the boy the necklace. "Well, I'm glad you like it," he told her, his mood lightening once again.
Stepping closer to her, Lucas draped the necklace around Felicity. He looked down at her, words escaping him momentarily. She looked really pretty today. After a moment of gaping, Lucas remembered how to speak. Pushing her hair off to the side, he opened the clasp and locked it together. "There we go," he told the girl.

"I really do, it's so pretty and it's very nice of you," she told him quickly, relishing the feel of the chain around her neck as he put it around her. Helping him to brush her hair off to the side so he could properly clasp it, she stood still just long enough to feel him let go of the ends of the chain and she picked the locket up and held it in her hands. Really, she didn't think he could've chose a better subject to have in the frame, Sammy was absolutely the most perfect choice.
"Lucas, thank you so much," she again said, keeping her eyes on the locket, her mission momentarily forgotten. How was he able to choose something so enthralling to her? He was just keen on senses, he was easily able to pick up on things about her, and she liked that fact, even if she wasn't about to say it aloud to anyone else.
"I can't say my present will be anything like this, but I'll try to make it more elaborate," she giggled as the locket finally slid from her gloved fingers, coming to a rest against her chest. She'd be sure to keep it close, just like the little squirrel charm Drew had given her on their first date.

The more Felicity thanked him, the more his cheeks flushed. Lucas tried to fight it down, but there was no beating it. All he could do was ignore it and enjoy the fact that she was so happy about getting the present. But the moment she started talking about his present, Lucas had to stop the girl. "You really don't need to get me anything," he told her sincerely, "That's not what I was going for when I got this. It's really alright." He didn't want Felicity to have to go out of her way to get him something when it wasn't necessary. "Come on, let's go check out the shops," he offered.

"But it isn't fair for you to give me something, and not me something back to you," she replied, already set on finding something for him. Even if it meant working the next days in complete and utter silence, she was going to do something for him, it was just going to take her a bit of time to think of something that would be just right. But she was sure if she thought hard about it, she'd come up with the right gift for him.
Still having forgotten about what it was she had been leading the boy to only moments before, she nodded her head in agreement about looking at shops quickly grabbed his hand and let him lead her to whichever shop he wanted to go to. Really she had no preference, she was just a little too enthusiastic about necklace to really care much, besides, time was quickly slipping away and she didn't really want to miss a moment of anything.
"Which one do you want to look at?" she asked carefully, side-stepping some people, being shoved out of the way of a few rambunctious children and whatnots.

Lucas laughed slightly as Felicity grabbed his hand again and started dragging him around. It was more of a game now that they had discussed and disregarded all the not-so fun stuff there was to talk about. Now Felicity just seemed ultra-excited and Lucas found it kind of cute. Looking around him, the Raven tried to figure out where he wanted to go first. There was so much around them to check out that it was almost too much. "Let's start over there," Lucas suggested, pointing in the direction of a book shop. Of course, that was the only thing that attracted the bookworm's eye.

Pausing to look in the direction he'd gestured in, she saw the heads of a few people in front of her, best she could do was continue walking in that general direction and hope she didn't miss where it was he wanted to go. It wasn't that she was short, but she wasn't very tall either, though she'd hoped to grow taller sometime, she didn't like being the shortest in her family. All of her sisters and her mum were taller than she, not by much, but even when she was younger she wanted to be tall.
Heading for the direction he'd pointed out, she wove around a group of carolers, singing something she didn't know, but it sounded nice, and finding the way to a small clearing near the shoppes. At least when she got there her eyes immediately fell on two. But the most likely was the book shoppe, and she didn't blame him for wanting to go there, they were having a huge sale, and they could probable spend quite a bit of time in the shoppe without getting bored. Especially as both immensely enjoyed a good reading.

Lucas followed along behind Felicity, once again being dragged by the hand. But as they neared the shop he'd pointed to, Lucas spun around so that he was leading her now and steered the Gryffindor girl into the book store. The bell above the door dinged as they entered and the shop was a warm place to be. The air smelled of cinnamon and Lucas breathed it in deeply as they stood in the doorway. "Where do you want to start?" he asked the girl, giving her a chance to check out stuff first.

Giggling, she followed him after she'd done a complete turn-around to be lead by Lucas. It was actually kind of fun, being lead around, and she had been right, he wanted to go to the bookstore.
Breathing in deeply, she absolutely loved the scent that they'd been greeted with. The spice was nice, and she liked it mingled with her own scent. "Let's go over there," she pointed with her free hand towards a section where she'd once spotted a book that looked interesting, something about the take on muggle mysteries through wizarding eyes, it really hadn't sounded too bad, maybe a little dull, but not bad. "If that's okay."

Craning his neck, Lucas looked over the crowd to see where Felicity was pointing. He nodded his head and shrugged, flashing the girl a grin. "Yeah, sure, that's cool," he told her. His eyes flicked down momentarily and noticed the chain and locket again. His grin broadened slightly, glad once again that Felicity liked it so much. Lucas, still holding the girl's hand, led her through the crowd and over to the section she wished to look in. He let go and started his own search, his eyes scanning over the titles for something interesting.
"Did you see something over here you like?" the Raven asked, dragging his finger across the books and he looked for something good.
