"Shut it, Torque," Drew said gruffly, finding the mere idea of dating someone that much younger a little creepy. Lianna was cute and all, but she was so much more like a little sister to him. Date? No way.
His attention turned to Ari who was obviously a little tipsy. Drew had to smirk, thinking Nic was going to have fun dealing with her hangover in the morning.
And then the outfits. The middle of winter and they were both in kimonos. "Aren't you guys cold?" Drew asked, thinking that the breeze up the skirt would be something he'd rather not experience in December.

Nic laughed at Drew and shrugged off his telling him to shut up. Nic bent to Lianna and whispered loudly. "Nice ta meet ya Mrs. soon ta be Thornton." Nic had straightened up when Drew's comment hit home. "Naw, it woulda been, but Ari's mum is mad smart son. Dese Kimonos have some kinda spell ta keep ya at room temperature or somethin like that. At least dats what i think she was tryin ta say. Besides," Nic leaned towards Drew. "I gots on bout 3 pairs of boxers. Don't want no one seein or touchin nothing. Naw, mean?"

The two fresh voices from behind Drew for a moment raised concern as the first didn't sound too pleased at all. In fact she seemed right annoyed and as the sweeping gesture came across through the air the third year did actualyl sidestep herself to the left. They all seemed to know each other however and..eh it was she was just concerned it was going to become a mess. Her suspicions were slightly confirmed when the new boy spoke and suggested things that were just well...ew.
Her and Drew...date? Where in the name of all things considered decently romantic and moral did that come from!? While she was more than a bit surprised that he would even suggest such a thing she was more curious about the date part. It had been said in the form of a question, not a surprise which meant the Ravenclaw was expecting someone and eventually she would become a burden...and she'd get to stay anyway.
"Date?" The Huffle repeated as her thoughts of the errieness of such a scenario took over her face. "No ... I'm not I--" Drew then retorted the comment quickly enough, and again what had began as an iffy situation of tempers and jest continued as such. The Slytherin again addressed her and whether Drew had planned on retorting or ont she felt compelled to beat him to it--even if her voice was relatively quiet. "I'm not soon to be anything and we're definately not ... well, not that I'm..." The situation was really awkward for her without question for so many reasons. The primary of which beingshe was already, well, committed. And ... wait what was that last thing he'd just said? If she'd hear right than the visible shudder she now made was certainly justified.
"I...um...I really didn't need to know that..."

"Nic, cut it out!" Drew warned the Slytherin again, really finding the teasing to be creepy. He was seventeen for heaven's sake and Lianna was just a kid. Sure, she'd probably be a little hottie in a few years, but even in a few years, Drew wouldn't think of her like that. "She's thirteen. So not cool to go there.'
"We were talking about the Festival," Drew said, hoping Nic would drop the girlfriend bit. Otherwise, the ravenclaw may have to say something more about the dress. Traditional or not, it still looked funny.

"Naw, he'll get as tall as the Jolly Green Giant," Arianna piped, grinning up at Drew. "We could even give his skin some colour, throw some string beans in his hands and....Lianna!" Her eyes had finally caught sight of the girl standing beside Drew. She waved as a slight snort escaped her lips, her head shaking at Nic's comment about the two dating. Arianna didn't think it was likely, but then she couldn't remember how old Lianna was, nor if Drew had yet told her who he was 'kinda dating.'
"Not cold," Arianna put in. Seeing no need to be proper, she lifted her kimono to show what looked like another kimono. This one cotton and in a bright yellow to complement the rest of her outfit. She also wore a pair of fur-lined boots to keep her toes warm. The extra layers, plus the neat charm her mum and finally been able to accomplish (such things weren't needed back home), kept her warm and ready to celebrate.
"And the Festival...yes, that's where we're going," she added as though Drew had just asked if that was where they were off to. Her elbow lightly poked Nic in the side, hopefully encouraging him to be good. Getting Drew worked up would totally ruin everyone's evening. "At least...we were. But, alas, someone seems to be standing in our way."

Nic laughed at Drew and Lianna. He still had his arms wrapped around Ari's waist, but he kinda bumped Lianna in a frinedly way. "Naw, I'm teasin. I know you wouldn't date Drew, I mean it's Drew!" Nic visibly mock shuddered. He laughed at his own joke and was going to say more about his underpants when Ari lifted up her own kimono.
"Ari, Ma!" Nic snatched her dress down, but she didn't seem undeterred. Note to self:NO MORE sake for Ari! Nic smiled at caught Drew's eye. Nic would shut up about Lianna if Drew didn't bring up Ari flashing everyhone. Nic returned his attention to Lianna, but was still very aware of his tipsy girlfriend. "Yea, we's on our way to da festival. Care if we tag along with yall?" Nic's words were a question, but he said it like a statement. Nic never went to the Yule Ball. Agent Akina wouldn't let him go and he would concentrate on studies instead. This time he was actually allowed to go and Ari was in da club gettin tipsy (slang). "So where we goin ta first?"

Well now the third year was even more confused than she'd started as the other girl now said her name. Had they met? Had she met the both of them before this point and she she simply couldn't recall it? It was a highly possible option of course but she simply didn't understand why she couldn't remember who they were seeing as her memory was usually quite reliable.
"Um..hi?" She replied with a half smile as the boy spoke again.
"Naw, I'm teasin. I know you wouldn't date Drew, I mean it's Drew!"
Just teasing? It hadn't really sounded like teasing to her but then again she was still a bit worried about whether or not Drew would even let her stay. He obviously couldn't -- rather wouldn't -- blow her cover now but if he told them to go on ahead or something... Yes she was certain she was done for, of course she was done for no matter which way it went, staying and going home meant just as much trouble as going home now and explaining herself. The question of course was which was the easier trouble to get out of, and while she knew the answer to that question that was hardly her deciding factor. There was fun and merriment on the other side of that door and she wanted to be a part of it.
"Yea, we's on our way to da festival. Care if we tag along with yall? So where we goin ta first?" Well that right there pretty much saved her and although she would probably look more than a bit out of place next to them it was the Holidays in the wizarding world. Everything that looked out of place was somehow explainable by something...
Including her being there...and while no, she didn't picture herself being a tag-along-hinderment to Drew the entire night, at the moment she didn't have any idea how to avoid being such... Oh well, life would give her some odd escape door if it felt she deserved one, that was how life worked after all, right? Mysteriously?
Her eyes took a look of ponderment as all these thoughts and a handful of others went through her head. Silence was of course her best asset at this point, especially since she had nothing to contribute to their overall conversation. They hadn't even gone anywhere and she already felt like a third ... er ... fourth wheel.
Bummer.

Nic knew Lianna. Nic knew Drew. Nic thought Drew was either babysitting Lianna or doing that good guy thing and just hanging out with her. Drew was that kind of guy. Where in a regular muggle highschool Nic would be the star runningback and teasing, joking, and be one of those guys that would tease you and possibly harrass you. Drew would be the star QB who was cool with everyone and whom everyone loved. Drew would help a freshman faster than Nic would pick one up and hang him by his drawers from the flag pole. So seeing Lianna with them didn't seem out of norm to Nic. Infact if they had left Lianna behind Nic would look at Drew incredolously and ask him if he was okay. So instead Nic waited to see where they would be going to first.

Drew wasn't to sure he wanted to hang out with Nic and Ari when they had obviously been drinking, and he was even less sure about subjecting Lianna to the company of his innebreated friends. To top it off, he had actually been leaving the Festival when he had run into Lianna, so he felt kind of stupid agreeing to Nic's request.
Instead, he looked at Lianna and shrugged. He'd follow her lead on this one. It was her butt on the line if she was out without permission and it was she who would probably have the hardest time dealing with his friends.

The Leaky Cauldron was not living up to her normal expectations. It was disheartening that the pub had given such a poor turn out today. With the festivities started up, she had expected at least one drunk buffoon before curfew. Even she was not crazy enough of a reporter to stick around once the idiots hit the town. But she had at least been hoping for something. Her last big story had been arresting the whatshername Deputy Headmistress and that was already such old news. The witch was already in Azkaban by now. She needed something new and fast or they might degrade her back to last month's salary. She rather liked her money.
Perhaps the streets of Diagon Alley would be more plentiful. It was that train of thought that had her sashaying to the side of the pub, her intent on the little back room that lead to the alleyway and therefore Diagon. Except, when she pushed the door open carelessly it hit something large with a muffled "thud." That was odd.
She didn't think it was furniture. It wouldn't exactly be good business for Ian to cut off access to the Wizarding World. "Do you mind moving, sugar. Some people actually, oh --" She started, configuring her head through the now ajar door to find her blockage not one person, but four. Four lovely souls of student age, and one of them very young... and, was that floo-powder on the hem of her robes? Bingo.
Waiting for the person blocking the door to move, she rested her arm on the ledge and got one foot in the crack so that they couldn't shove her out. Her viciously red lips parted on a full set of pearly whites.
"Oh, hello. Are we having a little party?" The headlines were already forming. The best so far? 'Juvenile Deva Meetings in Diagon'. Ian gave her too much business. She protected her contacts.

Silence was physically all around her while mentally her brain was screaming at her own childish idiocy, this simply wasn't omened to be a very delightful night at all. Of course by time standards she'd barely been in Diagon but in truth she hadn't even made it that far yet. Her light sea green eyes flicked form face to face and did a double on Drew as he seemed to be expecting her to do something. Yes Lianna's current state of uncomfortable was entirely her fault but that didn't mean the solution had to come from her head, did it? Well apparently it meant just that and alittle more.
The other boy's -- Nic's -- question of where to go was the only one that she could recall being asked and going unanswered, if she was expected to answer it, she really couldn't. She didn't know what was beyond that door except for people and pretty colored strings of lights. How could she say where to go when she had no options? "Um...how about we just get--" Merlin just wasn't on her side. She couldn't even get her suggestion out (not that it was really going to be much of one) before someone else butted in -- literally. Not moving far enough away from the door had been quite a mistake, at least it was for Drew, but just who was this woman and why was she suddenly so interested in them as opposed to... Okay so the rest of the pub didn't look much too hospitable by all rights but still she had to be at least thirty and since Lianna was pretty sure she wasn't related to any of them, she was just another oddball that had made it onto the creepy list.
"Er...go outside...first and see what's around from there?" The Hufflepuff finished quietly as her mind still tried to dissect the woman's intentions. It was a futile attempt at paranoia and it probably should've been one of the last logical things on her mind but with her appearance and Drew's words from earlier still in her head, she was suddenly quite glad she hadn't gone out that door alone...
Now if only the woman could get by and on with her evening...
(Sorry all, to be honest I'm not sure WHERE we are exactly anymore...so I figured I'd just go off of ^ her. :-\
Oh and NO MORE PEOPLE JOIN...PLEASE!)

{Nic's not drunk, not even tipsy. He's quite sobered.}
Nic hadn't heard anything Lianna said. As much as he liked Drew, and Lianna (though truthfully Nic didn't know the girl that well or at all, Nic didn't want his slightly drunk girlfriend to be the center of attention to an adult witch. Ari being an adult in the wizarding world by now she was allowed to drink, but that didn't mean he wanted other adults to comment on it or even see it. Nic actually pulled Ari slightly behind him in a protective motion and glared at the adult.
"It's da Yule Ball, ain't everyone havin a party?" Nic didn't see why this woman was signalin dem out. Then again Nic was suspicious of adults he didn't know and tended to be quite rude to them. Hence his slytherin nature I suppose. Nic looked to Drew, then Lianna, and finally to Ari for some explaination as to who this woman. Nic mentally snapped his fingers. He didn't like her tone. The tone she used when asking that question was almost like the tone adults used when they caught children doing something they shouldn't and as Nic knew they were all in the clear. Then why did he feel as though he should hide something.

Arianna rolled her eyes in annoyance. She really wanted to see what this Festival of Yule was all about. She'd really never been to any sort of celebration in London before. The closest she'd gotten were those dances they had at school that usually ended up being stupid or more of a hassle than it was really worth. At least this time she wouldn't have a dozen stupid kids to worry about. Except the ones blocking their way out.
Arianna had been about to barrel her way through and out to the courtyard when yet another person entered. Or at least tried to. She had to peer around Nic to see who it was, but didn't have a clue, really. Arianna wanted to say something to the woman, but, amazingly, was able to keep her tongue this time.

Drew gently herded Lianna away from the threshold and just eyed the woman suspiciously. "Excuse us," he told her, neither answering the witch's question nor her smile. Nic's response was more than Drew would have given but at the same time it sufficed: polite enough but still giving no information.
The good news, for Lianna at least, was the woman was coming in which meant the best way to avoid her would be to go out.
