((Shaw!!! You haven't posted at all, so we wrote out our thoughts and being that we are all in school and barely on during the day at the same time...we dcided to post this. Please edit where you find you need to, and give us what you think on the scene. ;D ))
Torture Scene??
Celina is brought in front of Shaw, roughly by Apollo. At this time, I have already been brought in front of Shaw by Sienna, and the interrogation in front of the student body has already begun and I have had my possessions that I have been carrying on me the entire time during the invasion stripped of me. Those being the following; a quartz cut squirrel, Drew gave it to me on our first date in the room of requirement, a golden locket with Sammy’s picture, given to me by Lucas for Christmas, and a walnut carved bear given to her by Drew the day he asked her to be his girlfriend.
As Celina is brought forward though all speaking stops and Shaw slightly concentrating and fiddling (for lack of a better word) with the items that he has in his hand. And then the real lesson begins to be taught.
Shaw asks Celina what was to happen that night between the two girls. Vague but still alluding to the knowledge that he possessed that the girls were both up to no “good”. Celina, not making eye contact, looks towards the ground and claims to not know what he is speaking of. She avoids even looking at Felicity for fear that she’d give something away too quickly.
“Pity,” a word spoken after her answer? Shaw takes the quartz squirrel and destroys it. I flinch at the destruction, but would keep my defiant stance, for as much as the squirrel means…it means the less out of the items in Shaw’s hand. He then asks Celina again, more specific this time probably about what he knows….Yet again however, Celina avoids eye contact, however, by then her eyes have welled with few tears of fear and from the fact that the squirrel was destroyed. She yet still denies any knowledge of anything happening that night.
By then, Celina starts to fidget more and look around the Great Hall for her brother. She sees him not, mixing up the faceless members of the organization, fearing that Shaw had in fact done something with him, therefore, the reason for him not saving her and Felicity. (Celina has no reason not to believe that her brother would not also help me!)
Shaw then opens the locket, says something to the extent of “how quaint” and tears the picture of the squirrel out….the undecided decision is between giving the solid gold plated locket to either Sienna or destroying it….either way, I will never have it in my possession again. This devastates me to no extent because of how special it was to me. Tears start to well, but because of fury rather than fear or anything. Staring directly at Shaw, fists clench, as I try not to allow the feelings of my insides collapsing inside themselves to affect my outside appearance. I’m too stubborn to give in.
Finally, the last question Shaw asks of Celina. She is made to look directly at him…probably by force, thanks to Apollo. Looking directly into his eyes, tears fall from hers and her body shakes in terror at what is to come next due to memories from her childhood. He, rather than asking her, tells her that he knows something, and Felicity does nothing. Tears also flow down her face as well, but she is unable to say anything, knowing that she has no power over this situation either….and in fear that if she does say anything Celina could be harmed. Shaw closes in on Celina, obviously realizing the intimidation that he has over her, and demands from her the information he requires.
Celina not seeing anyone coming to her rescue, caves. Her answer is tearful, pleading almost, and full…however, as full as it was….it was barely understandable through her sobs. The blubbering of the Ravenclaw infuriates Shaw???
Shaw turns his attention back on the tearful Gryffindor because the answer given by Celina was unclear, and confronts her with the knowledge that Alfonz has given him, not mentioning that Alfonz gave it to him…and demands her to confirm what was said. I wouldn’t say or gesture anything….all would be done would be tears flowing from my eyes.
Shaw brings out the bear and shows it to me, realizing that the items actually mean something more than just pure trinkets…I start to break and start to quietly, plead with the man with barely audible whispers and a shake or two of my head. This is when he takes his time and destroys the bear, afterwards placing the bits and pieces or whatever is left of it, in his pocket so that they are never to be in my possession again.
He turns back to Celina, walking up to her slightly and he gestures for Apollo to let her free. Celina’s head, being now within her own control again, looks towards the floor, eyes closed tightly as tears of fear run down the side of her face. Shaw bends in to her ear, and without anyone else hearing whispers something to the extent of, “I’ll kill him if you don’t tell me” Yet again, referencing the facts of how the Jedynaks believe that blood is thicker than water…and Celina’s great fear of losing her brother and protector….the only one who ever truly understood her. With that she whispers clearly through her sobs everything….
The lesson however is not learned and Shaw makes her speak it more loudly so that everyone can hear her defiance, and as she does she collapses to the ground…for she has just given up her best friend to someone that she fears almost more than her father….for her father would never kill or threaten Alfonz’s life.
Shock and horror crosses the faces of many, but none that would stick out more to Celina than mine. Crossed with the horror is astonishment…I couldn’t believe what the whisper was…not to mention the more pronounced confession that the entire Great Hall would soon hear. The resonating echoes ring will ring in my ears and will do so in the next months to come….my friend….my best friend and practically Sister….had just given me away. Told them that it was my plan to escape the oppression we were facing. Celina was collapsed on the ground, and even with how much I want to look away….I can’t. It’s too awful to look away from…betrayer.
Shaw turns to me and maybe says something….but ultimately the scene ends with a public display of what happens to people who don’t follow the ways to purity….Celina’s echoing cries and begging of Shaw are only slightly heard by me….for my own screams are to much in my own head to listen to the mumbled sounds of what happens after.
