Em nodded his head, he had always been good at potions, a few mishaps here and there, but he was always pretty decent at the subject. " Yeah, it's always been rather easy. Actually most of the lessons are pretty easy. " It wasn't that hard to get by at Hogwarts. Grante some of the lessons were harder than others, some teachers were more particular about rules than others, but over all it wasn't that hard to do well in classes. As far as Emeric knew, if you showed up and put your time in, you did well.
" Yes. Was being the important word there. " He said with a smirk. Brady wasn't too much of a bad guy in general, but Em did find the story rather intruging. What had caused Brady to attack the man? He felt sure that if he asked the man that he wouldn't answer him, but it didn't keep the Slytherin fourth year's curiousity from wandering about it. ' It seems that all of the teachers here are quite....intresting. ' He grinned slightly, saying, " Everyone has a story to tell. "

She smirked when she heard, "Actually most of the lessons are pretty easy". This statement amused her greatly. Hogwarts? Easy? She'd never heard those two words in a sentance together unless the word 'is not' was inbetween them. "Really? You'd say the classes were at times easy?" She really did wonder what he meant by this.
As they walked down the hallway the pictures that adorned the halls started to talk to them, whispering about them. Tall tried to hear what they were saying but it was all mumurs to her. "The pictures are very amusing. The ones at Beauxbaton talk but not as much as the ones here." All of these little surprises really made tal start to fall in love with Hogwarts.
She scoffed slightly as she thought about the this Professor Brady guy. What he did was pretty insane. Attack someone else? Tal had been very mad before but she'd never attacked someone. The Professor must have not used any of the unforgivables. He would not have been eatching if he used one of those. She glanced over to him, her eyes playful. "Anre there any other teachers with less then stellar pasts?"

' Really? You'd say the classes were at times easy? ' Emeric nodded his head, amused that Tal would find it surprising that lessons were easy at Hogwarts. He gave an offhand shrug, though as he went on. " They can be a challenge of sorts at times, but for those intelligent enough to pay attention, it's rather easy to slide by. " Indeed, Emeric did ' slide by. ' He didn't try so hard as to strain himself, but he did make sure he went to his lessons and paid attention as was necessary of him to do. All in all, it wasn't difficult.
" Hm? " He asked in the form of a questioning humming noise. He didn't realize what Tal was talking to him about, as he had been zoning out a bit until he turned and spotted a portrait of a bored looking portly wizard talking to a rather skinny witch. " Oh, yeah. Bit annoying, really.. " He said as he sent a dirty look at the picture's occupants, smirking slightly.
Em's eyes caught back onto Tal's and he grinned in a devilish way. " S'pose you're going to have to find that out for yaself, eh? "

Tal nodded, her smirk widening. She knew she could slide by in classes as she was a very good student. "Oh, well, That is nice." She nodded lightly, keeping up with Emeric. Her eyes glanced his way for a second then back to the front.
She giggled quietly at she spoke about the portraits. She could see how they got annoying but they also seemed quite useful. "Do they help you if you get lost?" She hoped they did. At Beauxbaton the portraits were quite rude and disrespectful. Not that she respected them much anyway.
They kept walking, Tal not looking at Emeric for more then a few seconds. She couldn't, really. Every time she did she knew he could tell and that embarrassed her greatly. She kept her eyes forward, concentrating on the floor before her and how not to look like a loser.
Her eyes caught his smile, making one break out on her face. "Great, with my luck I'll run into an insane one and he'll use me as his little pin cushion." She stuck out her tongue in jest at Emeric. A slightly childish action, but right now she didn't care.

" Oh, yeah. Some times it depends on the professors to be honest, though. I've heard the muggle studies professor, our head of house, can be a bother, but I doubt you'll be taking that class. " His tone was questioning an also a bit condesending, questioning Tal if she would even bother taking the class. He hadn't, and he was almost positive that she hadn't either. If she had, though, Em wasn't quite sure what he would think about it. It just wouldn't be the Tal he knew.
His eyes scanned back to the portraits, he nodded his head. " Some of them do. I have heard of a couple of portraits that just like to get first years lost when they don't know where they are. " There was no reason for Tal to know that he had been the lost first year. It was irrelevant to the story.
Emeric laughed a genuine laugh at Tal, both at what she said and at what she did. He recovered quickly from it, though, and allowed his smirk to fall back into place as he looked back at Tal. " I would pity you. But I would also have to imprint the image in my brain. Forever. " He jested with a small grin. The image was too much as he had to turn away to not laugh at the idea.

She looked over at Emeric, confused. Did he just say their HoH was also the Muggle Studies professor? Did she hear that right? "You've got to be joking! Our House Head is the muggle studies teacher?" She was confused, no more along the lines of amazed that someone from Slytherin was a Muggle Studies professor. "Well I won't be seeing much of her anytime soon." Yes, the comment was quite snide, but Tal didn't care. Not like she would be taking muggle studies.
Tallulah turned to the closest picture to her and spoke, "You aren't going to get me lost are you?" Inside the picture was a group of young men playing Quidditch. They saw Tallulah and started to fly closer, making wolf whistles and telling her how they'd never get her lost. She smirked at the picture and turned to Emeric. "Guess I'm safe from getting lost." She couldn't help but turn back for a second and give them a wink that set them off in a fighting match of who she winked at. Oh the powers of beauty and how Tallulah used them...
She burst out laughed right after Emeric did. Tallulah dared to watch him as he laughed for a few seconds. He looked younger, but much more handsome when he laughed like this. She stuck out her tongue as he said how he would have to imprint the image in his mind if this happened. 'Well thanks Emeric. How sweet of you."

His smirk changed into a small sneer as he heard Tal's first reaction to what he had told her. He nodded his head, though, confirming it. As they walked along he pointed out a few classrooms. Returning his attention back to the former topic, Em shook his head in a dissaproving manner. " Yes, she is. A bit ironic, if you ask me. " He said, although his tone reflected more of loathing than of irony. Emeric found it hard to have something against people with magical abilites, they were wizards afterall, but muggles? They just weren't like them.
' Guess I'm safe from getting lost. ' Emeric chuckled at the Quidditch players in the portrait. They were reacting like most guys did to Tal, even though they were only people in a portrait. It didn't matter, the reaction was always the same. " Watch, when you're really lost it'll be an old hag who's jealous of your youth and beauty. " A joke as well as a compliment all wrapped up in one. He grinned slightly as she said ' how sweet of you. ' He gave a short bow, saying, " But of course. Afterall, I know you would only do the same to me. "

She nodded curtly, agreeing with him. Tallulah wondered what her parents though. They were mostly likely Slytherins also and to have their daughter teach muggle studies? What a disgrace. "Very ironic. We're two different worlds. They don't mess with us and we don't.....Well we don't get in their way." She didn't want to say "We don't mess with them" because in the past they did. It seemed like the best option not to say it.
" Watch, when you're really lost it'll be an old hag who's jealous of your youth and beauty. "
Tallulah laughed again at his comment. She glanced over at him, her eyes full of seduction. She knew it may have some effect on Emeric. With a sensual smirk she spoke. "Maybe she'll whistle at me too." Yes, she was showing her ego, but what did it matter? She was with Emeric. "But if I ever find myself lost and near the hag I'll just have to hope she is nice and helps me out."
" But of course. Afterall, I know you would only do the same to me. "
Tallulah turned to him yet again, grinning. "You never know. I may just save you from the evil teacher. I can be nice sometimes." She didn't say this with malice or smugness. She said it sweetly and happily. Tallulah bumped shoulders with him. Well, more of her bumping her shoulder with his arm. His 5'10 towered over her 5'3.

Emeric regarded the older Slytherin's comment with interest. What did she mean ' we don't get in their way? ' There had been plenty of times where wizards had gotten in the way of muggles, as well as visa versa. Em thought about it in regards to Professor van Aller. Was she proud to be both the Slytherin head of house as well as the Muggle Studies professor? Surely, he thought, the two would cancel one another out. Slytherins had changed in the past few decades from their origins, but some remained the same. " What do you mean, Tal? " He finally asked after pondering over it by himself long enough.
Em nodded his head, a smile playing at his features. Tal could smile like that all she wanted, he wasn't budging. " Hm, perhaps she would. She might be a nice hag, you never know. " It was a common misconception that all hags were evil. Some were quite nice.
Despite the girl's sweet tone, Emeric was hesitent to buy it. He had seen what she could do to poor spineless lads, and what was stopping her from doing it to anyone else? Not much that he could see. " You? Nice? You must be talking about someone else. " Emeric put on a shocked looked to portray just what he thought on the matter. He laughed, though, when Tal ran into his arm, bumping him lightly. " What was that for? " He asked, peering over at the girl.

Tallulah thought for a second about what she did say. "It's just weird that she was in Slytherin and is now teaching muggle studies." She didn't know what she truly meant by it even. She shrugged, looking up at the boy. "It just confuses me about this women. I'll have to meet her to see what she is like." She hoped he would drop it, not wanting to speak about such matters anymore.
She snorted quietly, crossing her arms as she walked along. "You haven't met my neighbor yet. She is the epitome of mean old hag." Tallulah nodded, looking up at Emeric. "But yes, some can be very helpful and nice."
Speaking of nice, Emeric's reaction to when she said she could be nice made her sneer at him slightly. "Well, I can be nice. Doesn't look like you'll see it anytime soon." She said this in half truth and half jest. She knew she couldn't keep away from the younger Slytherin. He was too much fun to not hang with.
"I don't know. Felt right to bump my arm with yours." She wasn't really good with all of those things friends did with each other. You know? The shoulder bumps and inside jokes. She never saw a use for them until now. "Just felt right."

' I'll have to meet her to see what she is like. ' Em nodded his head slowly, thinking that that was probably best, for the girl to meet their head of house and talk to her on her own terms. He would rather go to his Head of House than be called for, being called for was always worse and probably meant something along the lines of taking points away from their house. Em always thought it ironic when the Head of House took away points from their own house. He didn't bring this up though, as Tal seemed to be over the topic.
" Your neighbor is an old hag? Wow. " He said, finding this also to be ironic in some way. For some reason he had irony on the brain and found something ironic in everything they talked about. Then again, irony was everywhere these days. He shrugged his shoulders, his smirk still holding true on his features. Around Tal it was like it was permanently fixed onto his face. He always had something to smirk about...
' Doesn't look like you'll see it anytime soon. ' At this his smirk faded into a grin. Emeric continued walking forward until they had reached the top of the seventh floor. He had been pointing out a variety of rooms and places of interest, but now the tour was over. " What a pity. Want to head back down? " He asked Tal, nodding his head in the direction of the stairs that would be the fastest route to the Slytherin Common room. He went along with what she was saying, poking light fun. " Oh, right. I know what you're saying. You're not going to punch me next, are you? " He teased her with a smile.

"Your typical old hag. Rich as hell, mean as hell also." She spoke about her neighbor, her voice quite evil. She really didn't like the old bitty. "All of this money and no heirs. Pity." The word pity came out sounding sarcastic, as if she wanted to end it with 'Pity for me.' He knew her weakness for handsome men and money. Handsome men first. Money second.
She looked around at the places he pointed out for her. She knew she would remember most of these rooms. Her eyes went over to a window that overlooked the Forbidden Forest. She walked away from Emeric and over to the window. She leaned over, looking out. Snow hadn't come yet so the ground was still visible. The grass was green yet it was November. She concluded the grass must be charmed to never turn brown.
She turned back, looking at Emeric in the middle of the hall. Her face was expressionless. She didn't want to give away any more then she already had. Tallulah had bared her soul enough for a month. Sighing quietly she glanced back at the forest. She bit her lower lip, not sure what to say to the boy.
" Oh, right. I know what you're saying. You're not going to punch me next, are you? "
Her usual smug smirk flashed back on her face. She didn't move an inch as she looked at him. "If you were only so lucky Emeric." Her voice was playful, eluding to something else..maybe. "Oh I wouldn't punch you. You know me. Punching is too...manly. I like a good hex."

Em couldn't help the half smirk, half amused expression that crossed his face as she continued to go on about her old hag neighbor. " Pity indeed. I bet she leaves all her money to her pet Hippogriff. " The fourth year had heard tales of people, presumably old hags for the most part, had no one to leave their fortune to, so they left it to their pets. It was a waste of good money as far as he could see.
There were more valuable things to be doing with ones money, even after leaving this earth, than giving it to a creature who can't properly enjoy it. He shook his head, wondering why he was poring over wasted money when he had all of the money he needed. He noticed Tal looking out one of the many windows and began to ponder what she saw in the school he had been going to for his entire academic career. " So, do you like it here? " He decided to ask, his tone reflecting his interest on the matter.
Emeric raised his brows in a questioning manner as if to ask Tal, ' and now what does that mean? ' in response to her first statement. ' Punching is too...manly. I like a good hex. ' He knew it was true, not from his own personal experience, but from seeing other suffer from her. " So punching is too manly, but hexing someone is oh so feminine Tal. " He said with a short laugh.

"That will be one happy hippogriff." Tallulah said while lifting herself onto the window sill. She leaned against the wall and not the window itself. One who did that was foolish. Tallulah wasn't that at all.
" So, do you like it here? "
She took her time thinking of her answer. She didn't want to rush this sort of thing. After a minute she finally looked at Emeric. "It's.....different. Much more different then Beauxbaton. But yes, I do like it here. The company is quite enjoyable." She smirked as she looked at him. She wasn't being coy or anything. She really liked his company. "I guess most of my reservations about the place were wrong."
Tallulah nodded, a smile finding her lips. "I won't break a nail if I hex someone. Punching someone I could break a nail!" She said this in a 'you-should-know-this' tone of voice. She was joking with him. "You know me Em." Tal got off the windowsill and walked over to Emeric. "Where to now Tour Guide?"

Em grinned, saying, " Well, yeah. But what on earth would a hipporgriff, or any other non-human like creature, want to do with money? " He gave a shrug, puzzling over it a bit but still finding it a bit humorous of a topic as well. While Tal took her time thinking of a response to his question he made his way over and leaned against the wall opposite of the window, peridoically looking behind her, through the window and out the grounds, and at her as she started to answer.
He nodded at her reply, thinking it was nice that Tal might be able to enjoy herself here, after all it must have been quite different than what she was used to. He smirked slightly at her ' good company ' remark. ' I guess most of my reservations about the place were wrong. ' He put on a look of faux shock and said, " Did I just hear you admit you were wrong? "
She had good points, hexing didn't take physical contact and the results of a hex was more permanent at times than the results of punching, therefor more effective. " Ah, I guess that makes sense. I should have known. " He said with an amused look to Tal. " I dunno, we've pretty much hit all the major places in the castle. Any questions or anything? "
