Drew got a little embarassed when she answered. With how many times as he went down to the lake, he didn't always bother bringing his trunks with him, yet once he got close to the water, it wasn't very easy to stay out. Most of the time, he just stripped down to his boxers and jumped in. Felicity had seen his underdrawers before, but that had been an accident and he wasn't sure how stripping down now would go over.
"I didn't bring my suit," he told her sheepishly. It didn't mean he was going in, but it didn't mean he was staying out either. Even if he stayed on the shore with her, he could wade or skip pebbles. He just wanted to spend time with her.

"Since when has that stopped you?" she asked him teasingly. While he'd not gone in the water a couple of times while around her, it wasn't often he opted not to jump in at least for a minute or two. But she didn't mind that he usually went in, she liked it, because it gave her time to watch him, to observe him, to take in everything about him from a slight distance. It gave her a different perspective not being right next to him and watching him, and she wanted every perspective she could possibly get.
Climbing down another branch, Felicity realized she was missing something she had still wanted to carry with her. The camera she'd stuffed in a bag was still in the Gryffindor common room, and she started kicking herself for leaving it behind. The reason for the camera was because she wanted to take as many pictures of Drew as possible, but if she left that thing in the tower, she'd never get the pictures she wanted.

"Only once that I can think of," Drew answered, a little embarassed by the memory of that day. She had planned a nice afternoon in the Room of Requirement and he had been in some sort of crazy bad mood. In the end he had passed over the sand, the water, and the hammock. He still wasn't sure what that had been about other than possibly some temporary mental illness.
"But I was kind of planning on just going in my boxers," he continued carefully. He really had no problem dropping trou in mixed company, but it was a little different doing it in front of Felicity. Just the thought of it made him nervous.
Drew climbed down a bit farther and looked over at her to make sure she was okay. He knew she could climb up and down trees perfectly fine by herself (that one upside down time had been a total fluke) but he still really liked to help her.

The same memory crossed her mind, but she wasn't about to let it get to her. They had figured things out since then, everything was all right now, and right now was what mattered. While she knew the past mattered as well, when it was something petty like their day last spring, it didn't seem to matter quite as much. It was just an argument, one of many they'd had, but things were better now. Since that day she'd tried the spell again, not very successfully, they had kissed and made up many times, they had taken advantage of the hammock the room had given her, and she was pretty sure they were happy; at least, she knew she was and had no doubt he was as well.
When he explained his plan to her, the blonde giggled, unable to stop herself. Yes, she had seen his boxers before, that day in the Leaky Cauldron, but since then it'd been rare, if at all, that she'd ever caught glimpse of them. Drew seemed to be careful about keeping his pants up where they belonged, and she liked that about him.
"All right," she told him. It didn't bother her really, while he was the first boy outside of her family who'd shown his boxers to her, she didn't mind. Felicity heard the conscientiousness in his voice, but she decided not to say something about it. If he was all right with stripping down to go swimming, it didn't bother her, well, at least not at the moment, she was sure that once he did it her face would be more than just a little red.
Keeping up a steady pace and watchful gaze between where she was going and him, her eyes caught onto his traveling gaze and she smiled in return. It made her feel special when he watched her like he was doing, it gave her a comfort.
"Help me?" Holding her hand out to him, she hoped he'd take it and help her down, though she didn't plan on getting out of the tree without jumping at him.

He wasn't exactly sure what she meant by her answer, but was too embarassed to get any clarification. It occured to him that he was probably the only 18 year old male in the world who was nervous about having his girlfriend see him in his underwear. If there wasn't that, there would never have been an issue that day in the Room of Requirement.
He'd cross that bridge when he got to it. For the moment, his focus was on getting out of the tree and helping Felicity down as well. She held out her hand and he happily took it, supporting her as she stepped down closer to him. It wasn't easy taking the next step down while keeping his hold on her, but he managed, smiling up at her as he waited cfor her to follow.

When he didn't say any more on the subject of swimming in his boxers, Felicity didn't say anymore on the subject. While he didn't seem to mind swimming in his, she wasn't about to swim in hers, at least, not in front of him or any other boy. While she had stripped down a few times before to go swimming, she'd also been warned and cautioned by her parents about doing so, in any circumstances, and she didn't mind playing in the water fully dressed either.
Waiting for him to take the next branch down, Felicity gripped his hand before following. It was difficult to climb through a tree alone, holding onto another was more difficult, but the blonde wasn't willing to let go either. The decision to hold on though, led to something more. As she went to step down her foot loosened its grip on the branch beneath it, causing her to begin to fall forward...

Her hold on his hand tightened and he gripped back as she stepped down after him. With every step, he couldn't help but feel like he was holding onto something precious and he watched her carefully as she made her decent.
He felt her totter and at first wasn't exactly sure if she was playing or not. Instinctively he clutched her hand tighter, his other hand gripping onto the trunk as best he could to keep them both from falling. When he realized that she was actually falling, he was at a loss, wanting to catch her in his arms, but knowing they'd both tumble out of the tree if he didn't hold on.

No, not good. In every thought possible, very bad. The blonde could feel her body swaying forward, though she felt like she wasn't actually experiencing the fall herself. It was almost like watching it from a distance, but still feeling the movement inside, though reality hadn't set in that it was actually happening.
Foot slid, just enough to set her off balance and she immediately felt Drew's clutch tighten even more. It was real.
Flailing her other arm out in front of her, knowing that wasn't the best of options in case she hurt her hand or wrist, but not in the mind set to fully grasp that decision. A short yelp issued from inside her, bubbling up her throat as she felt the slight breeze fly by her face, through her hair, stopping only once she had fell into the branch below. Thankfully their tree was full of branches that were close enough by one another.
Once her foot made contact with the lower branch, slipped enough that she fell just enough so her knee came down hard, Felicity whimpered momentarily. At least she hadn't fallen completely through all the branches and landed on the ground.

Drew clutched desperately onto Felicity's hand, fearful that she would suffer the same fate Hiro did when he fell out of his own tree during their second year. Her feet left the tree and as he felt her full weight, his own hold on the tree slipped. He heard her scream as he flailed about, trying to catch hold of another branch before they both ended up at the foot of the tree with cracked heads. His face and then his stomach caught hold of a limb before his hand did and as the Ravenclaw tried to find his breath and clear his vision again, all he could hear was Felicity's soft cries.
"You okay?" he asked, knowing she probably wasn't, but needing to hear her voice. His hand was still clutching hers... a lot of good that had done.

Focused on what was happening to her, she didn't realize Drew had gone through his own fiasco, all because of her. Instead, the shooting pain up her thigh, down her shin, centering at her knee had all of her attention. Not once had she ever fallen through a tree before, so why now? All right, so yes, she had slipped now and then, but nothing had ever hurt as badly.
Hearing Drew's voice, she immediately shook her head in answer, vocals occupied in feeling sorry about her knee. No, she wasn't all right, she hurt.
"No..." she managed, trying to pull herself up, using Drew's hand for support. It wasn't broken, she knew that, but it really did hurt and she wouldn't be surprised to find a large, nasty bruise in the morning. Trying to straighten her leg out, she sank right back down to a hazardous sitting position, clutching at her knee with her free hand.

Drew carefully lowered himself down to where she was, sitting as close to her as he could get without pushing her out of the spot she had managed to perch on. He had gotten scratched up pretty nicely and he'd probably end up with a few of his own bruises, but at least his head was in one piece... and despite her soft negative, he was thankful hers was as well.
She was favoring her leg and Drew frowned at her, concerned about her injury. "Did you bang it? How bad is it?" he asked, knowing he couldn't fix it, but hoping she could at least get out of the tree.

Shaking her head in response it was another moment before Felicity answered. The brown eyes closed, not yet taking in the condition of Drew's face. She hurt, she hadn't banged her knee, she landed on it and on the tree. Not willing to let go of Drew's hand, the blonde kept a grip there and tenderly rubbed her sore leg with her other hand. Swallowing hard, wanting to stop the slight shake she felt from the rush of what just happened and the pain that followed, she decided to finally vocalize an answer.
"No, I didn't bang it. I landed on my knee when I landed." It hurt and the throbbing trailing its way through her what was a perfectly good leg required attention, at least some ice. "I don't know," she mumbled to answer his second question, but the look of discomfort didn't last long on her face when the light brown eyes showed themselves and caught sight of the condition Drew was in.
"What happened?" she nearly shouted as her hand pulled from his so she could touch his face.

He was way more concerned about her knee than any injury he had sustained. He felt the sting on his face and the dull throb across his gut, but he figured he wasn't as bad off as she was. When Felicity reached for his face he flinched slightly, but allowed her fingers to reach him. Her touch was gentle and didn't hurt anywhere near as much as he had anticipated.
"I'm okay. Let's get you out of this tree, all right?" he asked, figuring he could get an ice pack going once they were on the ground. He highly doubted she'd be leaping out of the tree at him this time.

When he twitched, just before she touched him, the blonde made sure to keep her touch to his face soft, not wanting to hurt him in the least. The fact his face had a few scratches bothered her because she knew it was all her fault. When he tried brushing it off, Felicity shook her head, not ready to move yet, her knee still hurt and she wanted to look him over first.
"I'm sorry, Drew," she apologized, trying to focus on him and not the pain in her leg. "I didn't mean--my foot, it just--and then I fell--" she didn't know what else to say. She'd slipped, and then fell, and now... well, now she didn't want him to be hurt although he looked like he was.

Drew wasn't sure why she was apologizing when it had been him who had lost his hold on the tree. If he had been more careful, he would have been able to prevent it. If he had managed to keep a tight grip on the tree, she wouldn't have fallen so badly and hurt herself.
"It wasn't your fault," he said smiling at her. He really hated it when she appologized when she hadn't done anything. Accidents happened and people slipped, but what he had done had been negligence and carelessness. He knew it was his fault she had hurt herself. "I thought I had a better hold on you and the tree."
