Emma laughed a bit as he agreed with her. Jay was different from other kids that she had ever spoken to, he acted more like an adult than a student. At least what she had gotten to know of him in the past eight minutes or so. He seemed nice though and that was what counted as for right now. Plus, he let her share the little spot that blocked the rain from soaking the both of them.
"So what is it about the rain that makes you want to sit in it all day?" Emma asked curiously. "Is it the calming, sleepy affect it gives? The fact no one, except me so far, has come around to chat with you? Or maybe the view is why you have picked this spot? Even though you can't see much past five meters..."
As she introduced her different theories, she made little hand gestures to go along with them. Talking with her hands was a habit of hers. It helped her express what she was saying and she had gotten to where she barely even noticed she was doing it anymore. Her guesses were all logical. Of course, she didn't expect him to give her a straight answer. Why would he? That would break character.

Jay thought about hot to make this move. The truth was that he liked the wall of isolation and peace the the rain provided better than the literal stone walls of the castle. The fact that Emma just happened to stumble upon him here was unusual on a day like this. Unusual, but not unpleasant. It helped him to make more friends, and maybe help out someone who could use more herself. And the game was fun.
Back to the game, he tried to think of a way to be mysterious and succinct without lying. None would come to him, which meant it was time to cheat. Well, it wasn't really cheating so much as bending the rules, which was part of the objective of the game. Whether his opponent would bend with the rules would determine his next move. If she did, he would have the game back on his turf. He would be asking the questions then. If she chose to be more rigid, he knew how to deal with that too.
"The question is, why are you sitting here?" Jay was grinning now, that grin that he grinned when he was having fun with someone. It was a fairly new grin, but it felt good.

"Because it seemed like a good spot." Emma answered instantly.
She withheld the laugh that wanted to follow and kept a very serious look on her face. The most basic answer she could think of sufficed. Especially since he didn't answer her question. That kind of annoyed her. What exactly was he hiding that he couldn't answer a basic question? She was a bit suspicious of him and didn't know what to think. He had told her his name at least which seemed like it might be the only answer out of him that she might get.
This Jay character was intriguing though and she didn't find herself wanting to get up and carry on with her puddle-jumping just yet. He had the potential to be entertaining, which was always a plus in her book. Emma decided to switch it up and move to making observations, "Hogwarts is a very interesting school. I don't think I've ever heard of a school with such crazy happenings that goes on within it's walls. Like the moving staircases, goodness I have not yet conquered them I'm afraid."
