He didn’t worry. Actually, Connor had no other thoughts in his mind that Celina meant anything else than what she said. Above all, it twisted her heart even more. She’d told him so much within the past few months of school, and unloaded on him… and yet he still was there for her, and in Celina’s mind that made him worth everything. Opening her eyes just to see him jump in, she smiled to herself and wiped her face, believing that the water was on her face. No matter how sick she felt from guilt, it was better this way…
“It’s great though isn’t it?” Celina said, her face bright and excited, though the small bags under her eyes just illuminated how tired and worn she really was. She giggled and just bathed, not only in the water, but also in the warmth the boy’s smile gave off. But now that they were in the water… what did they do? Celina didn’t even swim hardly at Hogwarts, and didn’t even get in the pool at Drew’s party… so… what could they do, especially with only two people?
“Ok, so…” Celina started, only proving how reluctant and unsure about any of the moves she was making. “I don’t… I mean…” Celina stumbled over her words, only flashing to her memories of her stumbling over her words with her father. He’d only get mad at her further and he was always so disappointed in her. Celina shut her eyes tightly and her arms went from floating on the surface of the water to wrapping tightly around herself…. She started to sink into the water… into herself… not realizing that she was starting to submerge herself…
All the while hearing in her head… Pssst! Remember, Celina… if you ever do anything right for our name… our kind remember. Pssst!

Connor sunk down slowly into the water, letting his hair become wet, and then finally his entire head. He jumped back up, splashing the water off of himself the best he could. " If cold is great, then yes, very great as a matter of fact. " He chided with a small grin as he moved a bit closer to the girl, using his hands to splash her with a light wave of water. He glanced around them, wondering if anyone would care that it was almost dark and they had decided to go swimming in the pond. He couldn't see why anyone wouldn't approve, it wasn't a very big or deep or dangerous looking pond.
" You mean...? " He said in question form as he waited for Celina to go on, a small smile on his face. He turned away for a moment to check and see if their clothes were still there, and as he looked back, he could barely see Celina's figure under the water.
Guessing she wanted to play a game of sorts, Connor dove under the water. As he finally came close enough to the girl he reached for her hand, pulling her up as he did so. Once he re-emerged, he grinned and said, " I think you forgot how to float, love. "

Celina didn't know what she meant. Actually, the Raven girl wasn't sure of anything at that moment, except that she wanted to feel some kind of excitement. She wanted to make sure she was still her own person, but at the same time she did, Celina wondered if who she even was portraying at the moment was even her. It was another thing she thought as she sat under the water, her lungs screaming for the air she was denying from them. Who was she? Did it matter at this point?
As soon as she felt something touch her hand, Celina opened her eyes and didn't fight as Connor pulled her up above the surface of the water. She gasped for air just a bit and coughed as her lungs rushed to inhale the sweet sensation of what air could provide them. Among her coughing Celina laughed, her eyes squeezing shut tightly as she did so. Though she knew she should have been more concerned with the fact that her lungs had needed air, she wasn't. Opening her eyes again, she brought her hands up to her face to wipe away the excess water and her hair that continued to fall out of the bun and around her face.
"So it seems..." Celina said laughing, and still coughing just a bit. After the bout of coughing was finally through Celina let go of Connor's hand only to grab onto his arm and squeeze affectionately. His arm was alot harder than that of Alfonz's arm, but she figured that Alfonz hadn't kept his figure or shape as well since he'd gotten the job at Hogwarts. Maybe when she'd see him again, they'd have to talk about that. Celina giggled to herself... thinking about how awkward that conversation would ultimately be. Looking up at Connor, Celina smiled and sighed. "You'd never forget something as simple as floating, would you?" she teased.

Connor gave her some room to gather herself once again so she could breathe as it was rather necessary and he did prefer to keep her around. His expression grew to reflect his concern as she coughed, sputtering slightly. She seemed to be alright though in a few seconds, so Connor lessened his grip on her hand just slightly. He splashed down lightly on the water with his free hand, his other one becoming tangled with Celina's as she gripped his arm. He pulled her a little bit closer out of instinct, smiling as he did so. There was still distance and water between them, but Connor swore he could feel the heat from her body close to his own.
He attempted to calm his nerves and the feeling of something jumping in his stomach, failed miserably, and stopped the attempt altogether. He chuckled softly at her comment, giving a joking smirk before he replied. " Me personally? Maybe not. But there are moments when everyone forgets themselves, I think. "
He paused a few seconds, wondering if he should say what he was really thinking. A few more seconds went by and he decided that he might as well. " I.. uh. " He cleared his throat before starting over. " I'm really glad you're here. " He had already said it, but he didn't think he had stressed just how much he truly meant it.

Pushing against the water, the midsection of her body felt pressed in a bit as Connor pulled her more into him, but still left distance between the two of them. Celina smiled, making a playful noise as she did so. Her stomach was doing all sorts of things at that moment, but she couldn't think to ask herself if it was fear or nerves from the situation or the consequences that were to ultimately come. Again, she tried not to care, for she had two weeks to clutter her mind and to bury any thoughts of Connor or their time together. Slowly, Celina put a hand on Connor's bare arm and loosened her grip on him as she looked up into his eyes to catch his emotion with his words. "If I ever forget myself..." Celina paused, holding back a gulp as to how true that statement could really be if her father ever were to find out anything. "...I hope I never forget today."
Her cheeks flushed red, and she looked away really wanting to ask help from the Slytherin, and yet knowing that there was nothing he could really do. What happened in her family, stayed in the family. Blood was thicker than any water... even if the water at that moment was the only thing entertaining the two that stood together then. There was silence, and as Celina just stood there, she felt herself move closer to Connor, closing what little distance was between them, and she rested her head against his arm. Closing her eyes, she heard Connor's voice again telling her that he was really glad that she was there with him.
"I'm glad to. I wanted to see you before..." Celina's words faded off. Before what? Her father actually found a suitor for her? She'd told Connor before that her father believed in that sort of thing, but neither one of them actually believed he'd marry her off. And even then, there was no one who'd even take her... so really, before what? "...before school started back up." Her eyes lifted to Connor's and she smiled sheepishly. "After all," she paused again, shrugging her pale shoulders. "...with NEWTs and stuff... it's going to be one heck of a year."

Connor, unaware of the constant tug-of-war going on in Celina's mind, merely smiled at her, feeling completely surreal about the current moment. He hummed softly, almost subconsciously, as he heard her respond to his comment. ' "...I hope I never forget today. ' His lips tugged upwards into a somewhat shy smile, and he could still feel the heat rising in his face. He looked down to his arm where Celina's hand rested lightly. He didn't know what to say, so he let the silence filter in through them. After a few seconds, though, he felt Celina step in closer. Connor felt nervous at the sudden closeness, but he slipped his arms around Celina, holding her near to him.
Connor wanted to kiss her, the moment was there and he felt it, but he freaked out at the last second from his nerves. He leaned down, kissing her forehead lightly, scolding himself for chickening out, but glad to be making some sort of movement.
With the subject of school brought up, Connor nodded his head slightly, wondering what lay in store for the year to come. As if last year hadn't been dramatic enough, there had to be seventh year to top it off somehow. He did recognize that not all of last year had been bad, but then again the majority of major events for Connor hadn't been pleasant ones. He was almost dreading going back to Hogwarts because the sooner they arrived back - the sooner they would have to leave, graduate, and move on.
" I'm not so sure I want to back. " There were pros and cons on both sides, that was for sure. He loved summer vacation, but without random events such as these, summer was a bore at times. " And NEWTs. I don't even want to talk about it. " He teased gently with a small smile, shaking his wet hair out of his eyes as he did so.
