As usually, the nuisance of desks and tables had been removed from the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom; their irritating and useless presence vanquished. Nothing at all remained in their place, making the stark floor stand out horribly with the Portraits portraying great aurors and wizards known for having placed themselves against the Dark Arts that covered the walls, all of whom were talking idly to each other in their frames.
The Professor stood in the middle of the room, arms lightly crossed and eyes fixed on the door as she awaited the arrival of her Fourth Year class. They had a lot of catching up to do as they had missed a large chunk of lessons on the Patronus due to the outbreak of Dragon Pox.
She could still feel the singes that blasted cold had left on the insides of her nose.
((Almost verbatim from the previous lesson, I know, but its basically the lesson we were going to do anyhow. ))

It was a case of deja vu for Drew as he entered the classroom feeling as if he'd been through this scene not once, but at lleast twice before. The only difference this time around compared to the last was he was in a much better mood.
"Coporeal Patro-nus! Coporeal Patro-nus!" he sang, doing a little dance to accompany himself as he entered the room. He gave a wide grin to Professor Raynor before tossing his back pack against the wall and finishing his dance.

Hiro had been walking with Drew as he danced his way towards the DADA classroom, Hiro was probably the only one in the class unaffected by the dragon pox outbreak.
"This class should really be studying defense against the dragon pox." Hiro joked as the boys entered the room.

"We've gotten the immuni-ty! We've gotten the immuni-ty!" Drew answered back, changing his song up a bit. He was just glad he'd never have to sneeze fire balls again. It definitely wasn't as much fun as it sounded.

"I'll say," Charlie chipped in as she entered right after Hiro's comment. She carried a few bumps, scars, and scabs, but it compared nothing to the hellish weeks when she had the Dragon Pox. She didn't mind the marks on her arms and legs, they were kind of like battle scars.
"I don't ever wanna try to eat birds again," she muttered, but not sitting down. She was a little cautious of what she did. If this was deja-vu, then she wouldn't want to relive the beginning effects of the Dragon Pox.

Violet walked in and noticed Drew's happy mood. It was not in the least bit of a surprise to Violet. She was just glad to see him in a good mood.
She made it to her seat and waited. This time she would be on her best behavior. Or at least she was going to work harder at it.
To Violet, she was just glad to be back in class and not anywhere near fire. After what happened in the girls room it was enough to shake some sense in her.

Nic slunk into class. He had read the curriculum and had no clue what a patronus was. Unfortunately since he was a transfer he didn't even get a taste from last class. Nic heard Drew sing and wished for once that he was here as a first year. Maybe than he could feel smart in a subject.

Walking into the classroom Cali smiled. She wasn't late and she didn't manage to get lost on her way to the DADA classroom.
She looked around and noticing no desks or chairs she assumed the lesson would be a practical. Hearing a boy singing something about a Patronus she thought she already knew what the lesson would be about.

Cameron walked into class, noticing all her classmates. "Hi everyone! Hi professor!"Cameron said cheerfully. Feeling happy, Cameron sat down next to Callista and sighed. Hopefully this was going to be an interesting lesson, usually like it always is. I wonder what we're going to be doing today..Cameron thought. She looked around the room.

Alhana Starbreeze strided in through the doorway with a sheepish grin on her face. She didn't know how she managed it, but she had somehow acquired vibrant green and navy blue hair in the time it took her to get from one class to another. Even though Zsa-Zsa was all the way in Hungary, she had the suspicous feeling that her Nover had something to do with this. She wasn't sure what it was yet, but she would find out. She made a mental note to go through all of her belongings before dinner.

Gaze divided between the door and the attendance roll in her hands, the Professor was mildly surprised to see almost perfect attendance. Perhaps getting over the Dragon Pox had given the class an extra spur of enthusiasm to attend the lesson. Better for all of them, most certainly. Her gaze lingered on Alhana for a moment, however, the navy and green coloring clashed horridly with her complexion.
"Welcome back Fourth Years, I hope everyone has made spectacular recoveries. If you haven't, then as Mr. Thornton was chanting, we are all now immune to it. Just try not to set any of my portraits on fire, I dare say they won't like it."
That gained her a number or rueful looks from the occupants of the walls. She rubbed her hands together, "now, quite quickly, I want someone to tell me what a Patronus is and how it is conjured. We have a lot of catching up to do."

"It's a silvery-white misty thing conjured by using the Patronus Charm," Drew answered, speaking quickly. "It's used against Dementors and Lethifolds and usually starts off kind of shapeless, but when it's cast correctly, it takes on an animal shape. When it does that it's called a Corporeal Patronus. The spell is "expecto patronum"."

"It drives them away. Teh dementors or lethifolds, right? Kinda like good vs evil." Nic wasn't sure. He was trying to remember what he had read. He scratched his head and looked around for confirmation.

"Yeah, you need to have a really strong good feeling to conjure one properly or it won't work right," Drew continued, feeling a little antsy in his seat. He honestly didn't expect to have the chance to actually conjure one in class, but couldn't help but wonder how good it would turn out with Alhana sitting right there next to him.

"Correct Mr. Thornton, ten points to Ravenclaw for a very efficient response and aiding Mr. Torque," she awarded. "A Patronus is a creation of pure positive energy, which is why a dementor will shed from it, as they are creatures that feed off of negativity. We do not exactly know why a patronus repels Lethifolds, I do not believe further study has been pressed upon it. As they are formed off of positivity a very happy thought usually aids in its conjuring, as Mr. Thornton said."
She paused, to make sure everything had been covered and then added, "the shape of your Patronus, while yes, usually an animal also holds some significance to you as well, conscious of subconscious. For example, an anamagi's patronus will usually be their anamagi form.
"A Corporeal Patronus is a full-fledged patronus that is well defined and consistent and form. To show you what one looks like..." the Professor took out her own wand and then, after a slight pause, uttered "EXPECTO PATRONUM."
A silvery dog shot out of the the end of the Professor's wand with great resemblance to a breed known as the Golden Retriever. It trotted the perimeter of the classroom for a few laps and then evaporated into silvery mist.
"There you have it. Well, get started. As a reminder, the incantation is Expecto Patronum; ex-PEK-toh pa-TROH-num."
