"Mmmm..." Drew hummed, feeling the warmth of her kiss on his neck reach all the way down to his toes. He knew that he'd probably be confined to the Hjort living room when it came to seeing Felicity over the summer, and he didn't have a problem with that, but he also hoped that he might be able to take her out at least a few times.
And there was the camping trip. Drew was looking forward to it, excited over the chance to get back in touch with nature where he felt most complete. At the same time, he was scared out of his wits over the idea. Spending a week with Ib Hjort, out in the wilderness, was not a comforting thought.
But mostly, he was looking forward to that week. "We're doing it Muggle style, huh?" he confirmed, figuring that was the most likely scenario. He had a feeling Felicity's dad wouldn't really go for the magical version of camping.

The camping trip was exciting to Felicity as well, she couldn't wait to spend time with everyone she liked. Celina was to go with them as well, though she seemed a little less enthusiastic about it. However, she was looking forward to spending lots of time with her best friends, best mates, whichever one wanted to call it. Spending any amount of time with them was something she looked forward to, and she wanted to spend time with Corey as well, do something with him since it would likely be the last time they could do something before she had to be back to school and he no longer went.
"Yes, completely Muggle, other than mum might do a few things to make it a little easier. She tends to warm water up for quicker than the fire does, and it's nice to wash with," Felicity answered, finally sitting back up again in her chair, hands on his shoulders and rubbing gently once more. "But we'll be swimming, fishing, boating, sitting around the campfire, cooking, playing games, lots of stuff. And if you get sick of me there'll be lots of people to spend time with," she told him with a grin. It was true though, he could spend time with anyone he wanted to, it didn't have to be with her.

"Sick of you... right..." Drew answered back with a grin, making it clear that he doubted that would happen. Of course, he'd be bringing his wand even if they were going 100%v Muggle. It was his right as an of-age Wizard, but it was important to know if he could actually use it. Given that most of Felicity's family was Muggle, he hadn't thought so.
"So there'll be someplace to swim?" Drew asked, finding that bit the most interesting of the list of activities she rattled off. Of course, the best places to camp usually were near some sort of water.

"You might be after a whole week of seeing me almost every minute of the day," Felicity answered him with a big grin, though she doubted she would really get sick of him. Perhaps be frustrated a few times, but definitely not sick of him.
"Yes, there's a lake right there in the area we'll be camping at," Felicity answered with a smile. And they wouldn't be far from the ocean either, but that was something she was keeping to herself for the time being. It was going to be a surprise if she could make it one. Just for him. "It's a really big lake, though I don't know why it's so big. The guy that owns it keeps it really stocked with fish, and we're allowed to fish there. And there's a few docks to jump in from, and fish from."

"I do plan on sleeping," Drew reminded her. "So it's only every minute of like eighteen hours or something every day." Even so, he was pretty sure he could handle it.
"That sounds good," Drew answered, his smile growing wider at the mention of the lake. Swimming, of course, was the best part of the warm weather, but he thought he could handle a little fishing as well. Especially since there was less of a chance of him having a mysterious "accident" than if they were, say, hunting.

"Sleeping?" she asked, feigning disgust. "Who sleeps when they're camping? There's too much to do to be able to sleep. There's moonlight fishing, campfire singing and tale telling, card games to be played, question games, stargazing..." this last one she trailed off on. It was something her parents knew she was infamous for, being outside under the stars when the nights were nice enough to be, and staying up to watch the sun rise. It was the only time she was ever able to stay up late at night and well into the morning without being miserable.
"It does, doesn't it?" Felicity asked him, squeezing his shoulders. Camping was a lot of fun, and she loved being able to spend that time with her family, not to mention her friends and now Drew too.

Drew looked up at her, smiling as she rattled off a new list of activities. They all sounded like things he did on camping trips with his family, but it was the last one that had caought his attention the most.
"You think your dad's going to be okay with it if I want to stay up stargazing with you?" he asked, hoping Mr. Hjort would. Given the choice of sleeping or looking at the stars with his arms around Felicity... well, he could sleep any old time.

"No," Felicity answered truthfully. Her dad wouldn't be all right with anything Drew wanted to do if it involved her. "But I'm not always the only one that does it either," Felicity continued. "Usually someone else stays up looking at the stars for a little bit, and he can't really say anything about it then because if there's someone else he knows nothing will happen, even if you and I know nothing would happen without someone else there, either."
"But he can't really stop us both from looking at them. He may not like it, but he knows it's something I do, and if you happen to do it too, or want to do it too, he can't really say no. It's a part of the experience of camping, being able to see all just how much there is over our heads, looking at the stars and the moon."
Her last memorable conversation with Corey had involved the stars and the moon and just what made them special.

Drew snorted at the idea of something happening. He'd have to be the world's biggest idiot or else have a death wish to try anything with her dad right there.
On the other hand, he could almost guarentee that Mr. Hjort's definition of "something" was different than Drew's. The seventeen year old was pretty sure he wouldn't be allowed to do something as innocent as puting his arms around her, much less kiss her that week. It wasn't a happy thought, but it was a price he was willing to pay if it meant he could spend the week with Felicity.
"Maybe if I went camping more often, I wouldn't suck so badly at astronomy,' he said with a crooked grin. Looking at the stars in the clear night sky was one of the best parts of being out in the middle of nowhere, but Drew still couldn't pick out many constellations.

Raising an eyebrow, though Drew couldn't see it, Felicity wondered why he snorted when she said nothing would happen. Was it because he didn't like the idea, or was it because nothing would happen? Either way, Felicity didn't like it. Nothing was going to happen, not now, not for an extremely long time, if ever. The blonde thought he knew that, was sure he'd known that, but now she didn't much care for him thinking otherwise if that's what it was.
And perhaps, but Felicity went camping quite a bit and she could barely understand Astronomy. Whether it was because of who their Professor was, or it was because of something else, Felicity just didn't really understand. Though, Drew had told her before he hadn't done too well himself in the class, so she didn't ask him to help her study that subject. And she liked learning spell work from him, it was fun, and she felt like she learned quite a bit.
"Drew?" she started, not really wanting to be mad at him about something, especially if it wasn't what she was thinking. "Why did you make that noise? The one when I said nothing was going to happen?"

"Huh?" Drew asked, turning his face upwards to look at her. His mind had drifted to starlit skies and snuggling with his best girl. When she clarified her question, he was a little puzzled. What did his little snort mean?
"I'd be kind of stupid to try anything with your dad right there, wouldn't I?" he answered, wondering what she thought he had meant. Besides, if he really was going to go that route, he would have tried it at school, not on a family camping trip. "I just thought it was kind of funny is all."

Not quite satisfied with his answer, Felicity wasn't really sure. He'd be downright stupid to try anything with or without her dad being there, or any of her family. Even if it was just the two of them he'd be extremely stupid to try something. Maybe she just wasn't hearing his wording correctly, but she was pretty sure she didn't like how it sounded, either way.
And she really didn't like his comment that it was funny. Why was it funny? There wasn't anything funny about it in her opinion, it was a very truthful statement, nothing was going to happen.
"You'd be stupid to try anything no matter who was there," Felicity finally decided to retort back. Sitting back in her chair, she crossed her arms and stared at him. She wasn't mad, not yet, but she didn't like what he'd said either.

So maybe funny wasn't the right word. Whatever it was, he knew he wasn't stupid... the question now was if Felicity thought so.
Once again he sat up and looked at her, this time in confusion. It wasn't her words that bothered him so much as her tone and the fact that she had moved away. The thing was, he did try. He tried plenty of stuff and if she wasn't comfortable with it, she stopped him. It was where a big hunk of trust came into play. She had to trust he'd stop when she stopped him and he had to trust he wouldn't get slapped for his efforts.
So why was she acting all upset with him? Was she sick and tired of him edging along those lines? Did she not trust him to stop when it went too far? Or plain and simple, did she think he was an idiot for even trying in the first place?
So many questions and there was one he thought could clear most of it up. "Are you mad at me?" he asked, still confused by her reaction.

"Not right now," Felicity admitted, but she was going to get there she knew if things were cleared up. Why did he think it was funny? Wouldn't he be an idiot to try anything? Felicity thought he knew where the lines were, thought he understood where they were drawn. No, she didn't mind him testing now and then because he did stop when she told him to. Just like when he first tried kissing on her neck, she pulled away and said she wasn't ready, he was fine with that. And then in Diagon Alley, he touched her bum and she wasn't ready for him to do that either and pulled his hand back, and he seemed all right with that. So why did he think he was going to be trying something without someone else there?
Or maybe she just didn't understand what he was saying. When he said try something, she took it to mean something she really didn't think either of them were ready for, thought they had somewhat discussed that topic back in January and it was the end of that, neither were nearly ready for a direction like that. Unless he meant testing, but if that was the case, why did he say try?
"I'm not mad, but I don't understand. You wouldn't really try something, would you?" she asked confused on what he'd said. To her, trying something was much more than either them wanted, or so she thought.

Well, of course he'd be trying, but he didn't think that was the right answer. And knowing it wasn't the right answer confused him more. She never really had a problem with him trying the limits before. If she didn't like it, she let him know and he stopped. Why was she suddenly upset by it?
He was always careful to take it slow and only try it by a little bit, knowing that going too far and too fast would only spell trouble. So maybe it was those big jumps she was concerned about. But was she so unsure about his character that she had to ask? Did she really trust him that little?
It didn't sound right to him and if it didn't sound right, it probably wasn't. He had figured that much out since March. "Is there room in the chair for me?" he asked, hating the fact that she had pulled herself away when they were obviously both confused. "I need you to explain what you're asking me, because I don't think I understand either."
