"Wow. That's pretty intense." Vi said, impressed. "I don't really cut myself up too bad, or at least I don't really show it too much. I skateboard, and that brings about some pretty fun accidents." The things that happened at her home skatepark were always fun, and either ended in an amazing victory or an amazing wipe-out. Most of them were wipe-outs. "My best friends are mostly boys, so I get down and dirty most of the time." She said with a smile. "So how did you get that?" She wondered what kind of crazy shenanigans the girl got into. Injuries always came with funny stories, stories that you look back on and laugh at before realizing how dangerous that situation really was.

Delilah eyes brightened, interested instantly. More muggle words. "What's a skate board?" She asked a little too eagerly. She flushed a little bit, hoping that she didn't sound like a moron yet. Delilah nodded, listening to the rest of what Violetta had to say, "My friends vary in gender, I'd probably go crazy if they were all female... We're quite catty..." She said, laughing a bit. It was crazy just how sensitive and moody girls really could get.
She looked back down at her arm, and shrugged once again, "Well I was at home once, and had been waving my wand around. I was really mad at one of my cousins Abby," D was really getting into this now, "and when thinking about how to... well, let's say hurt her, my wand shot off, and hit our chandelier, which then fell around me. I got a pretty big piece wedged into my arm. I'm sort of accident prone..." Delilah finally finished her story. Did she ramble? Ugh... she really hoped not.

"Omigosh! That's crazy!" She was trying to picture this nice girl raging against her cousin, then the chandelier falling in true Phantom of the Opera style. It was a scary thought, especially the fact that Vi had seen Phantom of the Opera. It was mostly because her mother loved that movie and watched it every spare moment, which wasn't often. Vi was witness to the big chandelier scene at least 3 times a week. Weird.
"A skate board is...well..." How did Vi describe something that she loved so much? It was...it was... "I guess I could describe it best as a piece of thin oval wood with a set of four wheels on the bottom, like a car, and you stand on top of it and ride it. You can even do some really cool tricks." Vi supposed that it was an okay definition. Being a great speaker was never Vi's speciality.

Delilah laughed brightly at Vi's reaction. She pulled her arm back close to her, glad her fellow house mate was impressed and slightly shocked, and not grossed out or anything like that. When she proceeded to tell Delilah what a skateboard was, the confussion that was written ascross the older girl's face was undeniable. Delilah had no idea what a car was either. Delilah had a good imagination though, and could picture it in her head. "Can you do cool tricks?" She asked, never really using the word 'cool' before, it sounded odd coming out of her mouth. "Cuz I'd love to see them if you can." She said, a bit of a challenge in her voice, but also great interest. They were getting to know each other quite smoothly, and Delilah was enjoying the company.

"Yeah, they're pretty insane." Delilah seemed genuinely interested, and Vi felt like she was opening a whole new world up to her. "I can do a ton of stuff on the vert, although my street is tons better, and..." She stopped and realized that to Delilah it probably meant nothing. At least...not yet. "Someday when you're free I'll have to teach you to ride one. It's not too hard." Vi was sort of hesitant to say this because she couldn't honestly remember a time when she wasn't riding one. It was just second nature now, something like walking to her. "I think you could do it. If you can survive a burn, you'll survive a skateboard. Actually, a daredevil like yourself would definitely love it."

Delilah was politely nodding her head as Vi tried to tell her what she could all do on a skateboard. She hadn't the slightest clue what she was trying to describe, but that didn't bother her too much, seeing as Vi continued on, inviting her to try one day. "That'd be righteous." She said. Now that word, was more in her vocabulary, and sounded good. Delilah laughed lightly, "I assume this whole thing would require some balance...?" Delilah asked, hoping she sounded a bit intelligent, she wanted to at least know a bit about what she was getting herself into.

Vi laughed a little. "Yeah, you definitely need balance or you'll basically end up killing yourself. I wish we had the Internet here...I could totally show you some insane tricks by like, Tony Hawk, Bob Burnquist, Rodney Mullen...all the greats." She was feeling a little electronic withdrawal. She used to live off of texts and the Internet, but now she felt like she was shunned, shut off from the rest of the planet.
"Skateboarding's not that difficult. You just have to practice a lot." She spoke from experience, thinking that she would be able to do major tricks on her second day. That plan ended up giving her a broken elbow and a shattered wrist. Ouch. "I try to practice in between classes and stuff. I'm so tempted to just go through the hallways, but then I'd have to grind down the railings and someone would end up getting totally angry." It really sounded like fun, but Vi wasn't willing to break that many rules her first year. Maybe next year...

Delilah laughed after Vi, "Ok, awesome, cuz I definetly have that, with all the Quidditch I've done and such." She said, wondering if that counted towards anything, but it was worth saying now, because if it wasn't worth anything... Then perhaps she'd have second thoughts about this thing called skateboard. Internet... er... Delilah thought maybe that had something to do with computes from the muggle world. She didn't ask about it though, she figured she didn't want to make a fool of herself, just in case she was wrong.
Delilah nodded. Like any sport, one had to practice, it only made sense. She also knew that in order to master something, you couldn't give up. Then again, that didn't always stop her from doing so. Delilah didn't have a lot of perseverance. She believed that either you had the talent and skill, or you didn't, and that you needed to decided which category you fall into before you look like a moron. Delilah laughed, "Well, if you ever need a look out, I could be there, then I could watch you once in a while and such." She offered with a smile.
