"If you don't find your actual wand in the near future I'd recommend a little trip to Diagon to get a new one," she said in a way of advice. The few times that she had used other wands than her own things hadn't gone as half as good as she knew they could. Your wand gave better results than any other random one. "You may need to perform something extremely difficult and not be able to cause it's not your wand. Not recommendable at all."
Why did she suddenly feel like if she was an adult giving a mildly important lesson to a kid? She sure hoped Drew wasn't getting the same vibe from her, for that was definitely not her intention in this case.

Unfortunately he was. It was pretty much the same thing his parents had said when they found out... and his Great Aunt... and his sister. He rolled his eyes and slumped his shoulders, tired of the lecture. "I'm not an idiot. It's not like I jsut picked the first wand on the shelf," he told her. Yet, he knw she was trying to be helpful. "We have a really good wand shop back home. If it doesnt' turn up by Christmas, I'm getting one over the hols."
That in and of itself had been a fight, his parents wanting him to go immediately. But Drew was still sure his wand would turn up.

"I'm not saying you are," she quickly stated hoping to not have offended the boy. For the bare reason that he was Allegra's younger brother and being in Ravenclaw positioned in a rather high pointed in her ladder of respect. What way of showing respect to someone was it to imply saying they were an idiot? Well in Penelope's eyes, it certainly wasn't a good way.
"Well, I surely hope you find it before that," she said along with a smile still trying to amend the fact that she had lectured the young Ravenclaw. "I know that once you get attached to your wand, well, replacements just aren't the same."

"Yeah, well, I'm still hoping it turns up," Drew answered. "I figure someone's going to find it one of these days and trace it back to me, right? Until then, it's just kind of frustrating not having it."

"At least you're staying positive about it all. I'd driven myself bonkers by now and probably killed a couple of people in the process too," she said as she leaned against the wall. If she was going to keep on talking with Drew she might as well get comfortable, right? "Figuratively speaking, of course." ((I'm seriously running out of things to say here. If you find a fitting way to change the subject, do please, be my guest ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) ))

"Yeah, I suppose so," he answered with a grin. As Penelope made herself comfortable, Drew gave a small sigh. Apparently his missing wand story had worked too well. His original plans would have to wait for another day. And a random thought hit him. He had been having a pretty decent conversation with this girl and he didn't even remember her name. "You know I'm Allegra's little brother right?" he asked, narrowing his eyes at her. He had never liked refering to himself as that, but it had become habit. And now, when he wasn't littler, it still stuck. {I'm trying! ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) }

((Good ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) ...annnnd I'm terribly sorry for taking so much to reply. I completely forgot about this thread ![:-[](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/embarrassed.png) )) Penelope nodded, "Yeap. Drew, right?" That question wasn't really necessary for she was 99% certain this was his name. Though somehow she always felt it was better to check, just in case. "Do you know who I am?" It wasn't until then that it crossed the seventh year slytherin's head that this particular boy might not know her name. It wasn't easy to always keep in mind that she had disappeared for practically two years and not everybody knew her.

Drew gave a small smile back. He knew her best as one of the girls whose wands they had stolen, but he also knew her pretty well as the girl Kellen had busted for snogging. He remembered that specifically because he had just started dating Alhana and it had worried him.
"You're in my sister's class. Penelope, right?" he finally answered, doubting she'd want to hear why he remembered her so well.

"That would be me," she stated nodding once more and smiling this time.
It was good to know that some knew her name, especially if she knew this someone's name. The reasons for why Drew could have possibly remembered it didn't really matter to the girl. She figured he'd know it since she was Allegra's friend and had been known to be Kellen's girlfriend.
"Ten points for you for having a good memory," she added joking and smiling even wider.

"Yeah, a lot of good it does me, coming from you," Drew snorted. He didn't have any points to offer, but he did have a couple of apples. He pulled them out of his pocket and held one out to Penelope. "It's the best I can do," he told her apologetically.
