Alex sighed and walked in his classroom, he was carrying a crate from his office and he set it down gently on the floor beside his table. He then set down his messenger bag that was filled with tomes about Egypt and then he tapped the board, the chalk moved and started to write: Ancient Egypt
The concepts of the curses and magical traps set up by the egyptians and the developement of the egyptian wizards through the years.
It's mainly just history... Alex nodded as the chalk finished writing, then he crouched down and opened the crate. He looked inside and nodded at the artifacts there, "It's complete" he muttered. Alex then stood up and walked over to his bag and opened it. He then took out all five tomes inside and laid them carefully on the table, These will be useful and it will help with their O.W.L. he thought. Alex then moved to the windows and closed them all, enclosing the room in total darkness. He then lit his wand and took out a few old torches and lit them up, then he floated them up to the brackets on the wall and smiled. He smiled, now this is somehting else. This will be an interesting lesson he thought, Alex then waved his wand and his clothes turned into an old Egyptian wizard's robes. Alex then looked around and tranfigured the tables and chairs into old egyptian chairs and tables, then he sat on his chair and waited for the students to come in. While he waited though, Alex charmed the words on the board to glow so the students can see it.

Woah…slightly dark, and slightly eerie. The words on the board as Jax entered the history of magic classroom, glowed in the darkened room and the desks and tables were really awkward. One foot in front of the other, Jax slowly entered the class looking for the rumors to be true.
Out of all of her classes, History of Magic had been on of the young Raven’s favorites. Why, one may ask, was because of the professor. Atwood was the only professor whom had allowed her to wear her lucky blue baseball cap to class without getting into trouble. As it was even on her head then, backwards as always, Jax looked around hoping that a new professor really hadn’t taken over his position.
Alas, however, Jax found a new prof and her face squinted up. She wanted to wear her hat: was that so much to ask for? Not removing the hat, for she felt as if it went nicely with her uniform, she sat down in the front row of the class right in front of the new teacher.
“Hey, ‘sup?” she asked the guy, a big bright smile on her face as always. “What’s going on with the room?” she asked him bluntly.

Alex smiled as a student entered, he didn't care about the uniform right now. "Nice cap" he commented, smiling slightly. Alex stood up and went over to the students "We're learning about ancient Egypt, so we might as well see what it was back then. While you learn, you experience it too. Nothing that harsh though, just like watching a movie" he said, still smiling.
Alex then walked over to his desk and took one of the tomes, he then bent down to the crate and got out a plain looking egyptian jar. He put the jar on the table and then he set the tome infront of the student, "May I know your name?" he asked. Ravenclaw's seemed to be the one's who are usually first in class, Alex shrugged it off though. He was once a Ravenclaw, but he was usually second to come in.

"Yeah, I know. I can't believe Atwood is gone. He was the coolest teacher, but I've heard that this new guy is making a good effort." Matty talked in a hushed tone with one of the other students from her class as they walked to History of Magic. If anyone knew for sure that Atwood was gone, it would be the 'Puffs. After all, he had been their Head of House for almost a year. The man was by far the most interesting, kind, though wacky Professor Matty had ever had. His lessons were actually fun, and refreshing. "I hope he's alright, poor guy though, he'll have big shoes to fill." the other student replied, as they neared the classroom, noticing the dimmed lights inside.
Matty pushed open the door, and stepped inside. "Uh, okay..." she mumbled, her bright green eyes looking around from the lamps to the glowing letter. This was creepy. The Fifth year took another step in, catching the New Professor's last words. 'just like watching a movie.' Although, that didn't shed much light on the situation. The teenager didn't mind sharing classes with the fourth years, but her opinion of sharing with the third years was different. She found that those classes pushed it a bit, but then again, littler amounts of students made this happen. "Hi Professor," the girl said with a small smile, after he had finished speaking to Jax, a fellow Quidditch Captain. Maybe Matty had underestimated this guy.

Nice cap
Jax smiled brighter, her blue eyes dancing with excitement as she played with her hat to fit it just right on her head. "Thanks! It's my lucky baseball cap." Jax leaned back in her chair and sighed contently. Maybe this guy wouldn't be so bad after all, of course, she hadn't seen him teach so things could change.
"Muggle movie!" Jax said enthusiastically! "Yea, I'm totally down with that." She laughed and nodded her head, hearing whispering in the background. She didn't hear exactly what was said, but she did hear the voices and so when the young Raven turned around and saw whom the voice belonged to, she just rolled her eyes. Now she remembered why she didn't like having classes with the fifth years.
Turning back toward the professor Jax leaned back in her chair again and rocked it back and forth. "Jax Chaput, sir. That's my name." She nodded, hearing the huffle say 'hi' and she rose her eyebrow. Yup...just another one of those types of classes for sure.

Alex smiled as another student came in "Well jax, don't open that yet. Those are not ordinary Tomes, it's really hard to re-wind magical projector tomes" he said. Alex then got another tome and set it infront of the hufflepuff girl that came in, "What's your name? I'm still new and I don't use class lists, just my memory" he said. Alex then walked over to the board and tapped it, now there was additional writing: State your names please... I'm not a professor who makes class lists, it bores me. Alex then went to the table and opened the jar, "A thousand year old magical dust, good for using with fusing art and magic" he said. Alex then took a pinch and tapped it with his wand, the dust became multi colored and when Alex threw it in the air, it left a trail like a rainbow. "Yep, still good" he said, smiling. Alex then sealed the jar and looked at his students, "This is what ancient Egyptian wizards once used to please the pharaoh and the people of Egypt. Some even used these as a kind of trap inside pyramids" he explained, pointing at the glowing rainbow.

The girl took her seat in the middle of the room, although quite a few seats away from Jax. Matty and the Raven hadn't really ever gotten along. It wasn't as if she knew her either, but rather, something had happened between the two last year that made the fifth year make no attempt to get to know the fourth year. It was as simple as that. They didn't harass each other anyway, so there was no harm done. The girl snapped back into the present when she noticed the Professor standing in front of her. 'What's your name? I'm still new and I don't use class lists, just my memory.' Her green eyes studied him for a second, then the tome, before she replied.
"Matty Wentworth. Nice to meet you, Professor...?" she didn't have the chance to finish her sentence, for Matty didn't actually know his name yet. When he returned to his table, and started to do something with a jar, apparently filled with dust, the Huffle's interests picked up. She watched and listened as he opened the jar, and did something with the dust, making it illuminate into rainbow colours. The contrast of the bright colours reflected in the teenagers eyes as she observed what he was doing. Already, the man was beginning to hook the girl.

"My name is Alexander Griffiths, don't call me Griffiths. Alex or Xander will do, and outside of class, don't add the professor" he said, winking at them. Alex then took another pinch of powder and then this time he blew it and different colored butterflies went flying around the room. "Safe to touch, almost real. These are the kinds of magic Egyptians do and this is what I do to entertain my colleagues or my old students or rather apprentices. I'll tell ya, it gets boring just reading and research" he said, shrugging. Alex looked at the two students and smiled, "Hmm...you two seem trustful enough for me to let you try this out, what do you say? Anytime you get bored, come to my office. I'll teach you fun ways to pass the time, history is not all boring, people just try to make it look like that" he added. "Matty, Jax... I'm about to teach you guys history like never before taught by anyone except those who really dare try and make students actually want to learn history" he explained. Alex then bent back down on the crate and pulled out an ordinay looking cup, a small golden pyramid, and a small necklace with an eye pendant. "These may look ordinary, but trust me, it's not." he said, he then took out a handkerchief and picked up the eye pendant after covering it with the handkerchief. "This is a very dangerous and powerful cursed necklace. They say that only the fitting Egyptian wizard was able to wear this and he was the first one to put curses on the pyramids, it looks new huh? it's actually really really old. And I don't think you guys want a new professor yet, so I don't want to melt infront of you because I don't have a will yet and no death wish" he said, looking at the pendant as though examining it again. Alex shook his head after a while and carefully placed the pendant back to the crate, then he burned the handkerchief and tapped the board. The board now said: The eye of Rah - Powerful pendant that was used to bring up the first curses in the ancient pyramids of Egypt by the first and most powerful Egyptian wizard, Tuhkep. Alex looked at the glowing words and then he took out a sketch pad, "This is what Tuhkep looked like" he explained. Alex opened the sketch pad and an old looking Egyptian magician appeared in a progection from the sketch pad. He had sharp egyptian eyes, almost that of a hawk. Very short black hair, almost feather like, his features fit as though he was a hawk turned into a man. "As you can see Tuhkep looked like a hawk, well his transformation was a hawk. All Egyptian wizards back then almost resembled their animagi's. And if you don't know only 2-3 wizards are animagi's back then, only the Pharaoh's magicians ever turned into an animal. Tuhkep was not one of the Pharaoh's magicians though, he is the Pharaoh's right hand, hiugher than all of egypt except Pharaoh himself" he explained as Tuhkep's projection looked at the two students. ((P.S. Any student who will post after this that are not Matty or Jax, have an excuse to be late.))

Peeves was probably, no, defiantly was the worst thing about Hogwarts. Seth and Ryan had managed to take down a few of his attacks last year, but it seemed this year that menacing poltergeist had thought up some new ways to cause havoc among the students. Well, Fifth years on their way to History of magic, anyway. Seth had been walking, okay, running on his way to History, and decided to take a short cut up a stair case he didn't use very often. The Slytherin trotted down the stairs, before arriving on the second floor. He began to walk at a very quick pace along a deserted corridor, seeing a stairwell going down to the first floor at the end. The fifth year began to pick up a run.
He almost down the corridor when he heard the sickening cackle. It was Peeves, back again. The Slytherin automatically flung his hands over his head, and pushed his legs to go faster. But, without doubt, from above came flying objects. Eggs, dung bombs, a couple of small soap bars, and to make it worse, the end of the corridor had been water. Literally. Puddles of gunky matter lined the stairwell, and Seth simply ran through it to get away from Peeves. The boy jumped two steps at a time, hands now puling his backpack so it wouldn't bounce around. The out of no where, BAM, a bag of flour opened, and most of it's insides landed on the boy. Seth ran the rest of the way down to the History of Magic class, preying that for some reason, he wouldn't be late.
The boy ran a hand through his hair, before shaking his body some-what like a dog would do. He was covered in flower. The Slytherin swore under his breath, wondering just how Peeves put together all of these things. Finally, the boy sucked it up, and pushed open the door to find a spooky classroom, and a lesson that had already started. '... is the Pharaoh's right hand, higher than all of Egypt except Pharaoh himself.' was the only thing the boy caught as he closed the door. Seth waited to make sure the man had finished what he was saying, before trying to speak. "Sorry sir. Peeves set up an attack on the Second Floor, and I got caught in it, as you can see," the Slytherin explained. He wondered if any other students would be caught in the same rout as he had been, and smirk at the though. It was actually kind of funny, now that he looked back. The boy dusted off his shoulders, however giving up as the flour stuck to the small egg remains. Seth took a seat next to Matty, shaking his head slightly. "Don't. Even. Laugh." he whispered, noticing her grinning at him. Boy, did he need a shower.

Alex frowned as a slytherin boy came in, he shook his head. "What kind of attack did peeves do?" he asked. Without waiting for an answer Alex waved his wand and cleaned up the boy, "now that someone joined us, my boy please come up here and I'll have you catch up to what we were just talking about" he said. Alex then sighed and then he moved to his sketch pad and opened it to a new page and a Egyptian girl appeared and looked at the three students. "This is Tuhkep's granddaughter, her name is unpronounceable so we better not ponder over it" he said, Alex then picked up the cup and quickly dropped it down on the table again. Alex tapped his hand with his wand and bandages wrapped around his hand, "The cup of torture, hurts like hell when touched. It also makes several large cuts appear on the holders hand, like now. This cup was used by Tuhkep's granddaughter to trick theives and those who needed to be punished" he explained. Alex then tapped the board and more words were added: The cup of torture - Used by Tuhkep's granddaughter to trick thieves and punish those who aught to be punished. Alex then floated the cup back to the crate and left it there, "Remind me not to carry that cup or the eye of Rah again with my bare hands" he said. Then he looked at his students and said "Tuhkep's granddaughter was a squib, but due to her knowledge she was able to make inventions like the cup of torture, she was a wise girl" he pointed at the projection and then looked at his class, waiting to see if they had any questions.

Tianne watched Seth enter the classroom. She wasn't far behind him, but she knew that she wouldn't be able to catch up before he entered the classroom. It was pointless, but Tianne decided to run anyways. The newly made prefect had been helping her house first years make it in one piece to their classes, but she wasn't sure if that would be a good enough excuse for the professor. She didn't know the professor, as she knew many others, but Tianne was hoping that he'd let her off just this once, after all, she was performing her duties.
Arriving just seconds after the boy, who was completely covered in who-knows-what, she smiled at the professor, reading what had been written up on the board. "Oh, uh Professor. i'm sorry I'm late, I was just helping the first years get to their classroom, and even though we finally made it to transfiguration, they really had potions, and all that jazz. I apologise." She said, expecting the professor to get quite cranky at her. She took a seat next to Seth, who was seated next to Matty. Giving the two a smile, she got out her books and gave her full attention to the professor.

Today was bad. no two ways about it, it was an evil day and the bad karma of the day was mauling Art. He had slept in and because of that his entire day was about 10 minutes off schedule. When Art reached the History of Magic room he exhaled and braced himself with a full breath of fresh air. He opened the door his head low his blonde hair obscuring his face his robes weren't pressed nicely because he had pulled them from he bottom of hell his trunk. They didn't smell at all which was lucky for the snake because his trunk was full of all kinds of assorted junk. "I am sorry I am late Professor there is no excuse." He was barely in the door and he had sad it like a man there was indeed no excuse. The question lingering in the air was what kind of problems or detention awaited his statement?

Ryan too was having quite an awful day. Firstly, just knowing that he was going to be paired up with the annoyingly immature third years, as he was a fifth year now, bugged him, just for the fact that he was two years older than the youngens, but they were learning the same thing. He used to like History of Magic, but now that there were so few of them, their classes had to be joined up, and now with a new professor, that Ryan was sure was going to get angry at him for being late, well, he just didn't want to go to this class at all.
The boy slowly made his way down to the first floor, stopping to chat to a few friends on his way. He spotted Peeves screwing with Seth, something that made the boy go into hysterics, but did nothing, it was way too funny. The boy finally entered into the classroom, looking at the Professor and taking a seat next to Tianne, grinning at the boy he had just seen get terrorised. Turning his attention to the front, he spoke aloud, "Sorry Professor. I know I'm late. The thing was, I was watching someone get terrorised, and actually forgot what class I had." He was trying not to be rude, but the boy didn't know what else to say. Surely lying was considered ruder than telling the truth, however bad it must be.

Alex looked at the prefect and the other snake, the prefect had a good excuse and the slytherin had none. From the looks of the slytherin though, you'd think he crawled out of a tomb. "Take your seat you two and young man, right your clothes. Your other professors might think you crawled out of a tomb or something" he said, smiling at them.
Alex then picked up the miniature golden pyramid, he then opened it and out came a still new looking Egyptian coins. "Time container, means that this pyramid can make anything old that you put here back to it's new self. Observe" he said, Alex took an old book from his table and put it in the pyramid and closed it. A small light came and Alex withrew the book, it was now looking as though it was newly made. "Now, you understand the concept of this. Please copy these notes on the board" he said, Alex tapped the board and a small detail about the pyramid appeared below the other two descriptions.
Time Pyramid - used to make the old into the new... you'll get it.
"That's the end of your note writing, now the only thing left to do is let your late classmates catch up. Matty, please tell them what we did. I'm just going to put the cup of torture and the eye of Rah back to my office" he said, nodding at Matty. Alex wrapped the two items in a cloth and walked out of the classroom and towards his office.

Abby, normally a peaceful and respectful girl, was swearing her face off as she tore down the corridor of the first floor, knowing she was late and powerless to stop it. She hurtled the corner, stopping the profanities as she neared the classroom so no one would hear her. Finally, the girl came to a complete stop and entered the room as casually as she could, trying to avoid eye contact with the professor as she mumbled an apology. "Sorry, Professor," she apologized quickly, feeling her face flush. Her eyes noticed someone in front of her who had been late too, and she smiled slightly. Abby quickly took a seat on the other side of Ryan and kept her head down.
"Hi," she whispered to him, taking her pens and notebook out of her bag.
