Even though the dragon pox outbreak had just happened, word had spread very fast and when it reached Banks he hurried to the Hospital Wing despite the fact that he did not like the place. He was not afraid of catching the dragon pox either since he had had it when he was a child. He never thought he would be happy to have had it before.
Entering the wing, he glanced around and soon enough his gaze fell on Tamis. He frowned, remembering how irritating the illness was. Approaching the three, he could only imagine the reaction Tam would have when she saw him..seeing her like this.

"I'm telling you," Selena argued, she had a reputation for making people stay without their will. She wouldn't force any treatment on them, but if they were a danger to others no way would they go. "You may not leave. You're contagious. I will not be afraid to keep you here by force."

"Ooooh..." Charlie commented from the background Professor Raynor got a one stern scold from Ms. Johnson. Then made another 'oooooh' sound, but the second time around she found the right spot to scratch.
"Hi..." Charlie greeted in between satisfactory scratches when she saw the other adult come in , ".... Proffy... G...."

"Madam, I was a healer once myself. I understand that I am contagious, but I can contain that an area much more accommodating to my schedule. I'm the Deputy. I can't be lolling around a Hospital Wing for Merlin knows how long."
Her tone was stiff and getting more and more agitated (one of the many side-effects after all), but there was a stubbornness about her. She was not used to being talked back to and it prickled her already high levels of irritation.
When Charlie spoke up, the Professor finally remembered her, and her gaze went to her and was tempted to tell her not to scratch as she would only make it worse, but that was for the Healer to do. She didn't want to get on more of the woman's bad side. But, when her words registered, Tamis whirled around to find just that. Banks.
"I don't need to hospitalized," she proposed to him, sounding very much like a child grumpy from not being about to play outside because it was raining.

The Professor nodded to the girl, "Miss Jones." he greeted. Tamis had spun around quickly when she realized that he was present. Banks could not help but smile a bit at her statement. He glanced at the poor nurse who was desperatly trying to keep the illness contained which seemed like it would not be if Tamis did not cooperate.
"Could I just have a word with her for a moment?" he questioned the nurse. He hardly waited, however, for a response before taking Tamis's hand gently and leading her a little ways away from the nurse and student.
"Tam, you know better than anyone else how contagious this is. If the nurse says you should stay in here, don't you think you should..." he said, in an undertone, but his voice was soft to her.

Despite all of her protests that she was simply dandy and in spiffy health, a sudden wave of drowsiness befell her as she was quite abruptly lead away from student and nurse by her husband. It was all she could do to keep her eyes open, but then it passed as soon as it had come and she was left with a rising anger again.
A light sweat was breaking out across her forehead too, and the room suddenly felt warmer to her than it should, but she simply told herself that it was a warm day outside and was thus hot in the room despite the open windows letting in the refreshing afternoon's breeze.
"I know its contagious!" It was almost a shout. Tamis never lost her cool, especially not to Banks, and for her a simply heated tone was equivalent to a tantrum by another. It was not at all fair to him. For he was simply speaking common sense and reason. "I can contain it... I can't afford to be closed up in here. What about the school!? Fiona sure isn't --- "
Her jaw slammed shut and she fumed, remembering once again that Charlie was in the room. She did not want rumors spreading about the Headmistress simply off her suspicions. She was still in enough reasonable thinking to understand that.

Banks knew all the symtoms very well and was very familar with what would come next with the illness. Seeing the sweat form on her forehead and her irritated tone. Taking her other hand as well, Banks looked her straight in the eyes.
"Tamis, for once, think about yourself. This is not a normal sickness. You do not need to be stressed out about the school, it will only make things worse. I'll do anything you need me to do. But we have to do what is best for you." he told her.

He wasn't siding with her. He was her husband and was suppose to be on her side. Why was he placing himself against her? She was right. She knew she was right. Tamis could not leave the school alone and defenseless for Merlin knows how many weeks, worrying over her own needs. It. Was. Not. Going. To. Happen.
She snatched her hands away from him. She didn't want her hands held. The temperature in the room was getting worse. It should not be this warm in the fall, it was almost winter.
"I don't know whats best for myself? Is that what you're saying? And I suppose you do, then?" Her face was flush red now, but from the rising fever or anger was hard to say. "I was able to make decisions for myself fine before I meet you, and now a few vows and you know better than I do about how I should run my life?"
Those last few bits of reason slipped away under the rain of side-effects.

Banks could see her face growing more and more red. Listening to her words, his face also grew pink. "No-" he spoke, trying to get a word in after the first two accusations, but she continued speaking and his face grew a deeper red. He shoved his hands in his pockets as his brows furrowed. He clinched his jaw and glanced around the room before looking her over again.
Banks was not sure how to respond. He knew that her comments were said due to the side-effects of the illness, but it still hurt..and made him think.
"No, I think you are perfectly able to run your life. I am wanting only the best for you." he shrugged, not able to look at her directly at the moment.

"Yes. I am. And if you want whats best for me you will understand that!" She did yell that time.
Banks was very red in the face himself and looked on the verge of exploding as well. If his jaw firmed anymore, he was sure to break every tooth in it. And when Tam had serenity, Banks had complete angelic calm. If he was losing it, this would not end well at all.
But Tamis was in no predicament to see that.
"You're not Tait, so stop trying to be!"
Tamis wanted to recall that one, even in her current condition, she knew the effect of that one. She fell silent, breathing very, very hard. The room spun slightly from all the shouting, but she ignored it. She wanted to bath in ice cold water to get her skin to cool down.

Banks looked at her, his brows still furrowed as she yelled. But at her next comment, his eyes narrowed on her. At that he almost forgot she was ill and could not understand how she could say that. His hands formed loose fists in his pockets.
"What is that supposed to mean!?" he said, his voice growing a little louder now.

Everyone else in the room was now forgotten. This was an argument for a couple to have late at night, deep in their own private world, where no intruders could look on. That was not the case. Not only were people present, but a student was too.
But they were gone. All that there was a spinning room from a mix of fever and getting herself over excited and Banks. Who had very nearly yelled at her. Nearly yelled at her as if she had done him wrong. If she regretted her words a moment ago, she lived by them now.
She swayed slightly and itched fiercely at her neck, but kept her feet.
"You know what I mean! You look like him and have no right to! The Christmas ploy! And this! Just give it up!"

Banks had noticed her swaying and was about to say something to at least get her to sit down, but she spoke again and he forgot his previous thoughts instantly.
Was he not good enough? Is that what she really thought, he was trying to be like Tait? He had only met the man or ghost once for no more than five minutes. The only thing that he saw the same in both of them was their love for the woman.
Banks opened his mouth once, twice, three times but immediatly shut it. He couldn't think straight.
"You really think that? You think I am trying to be Tait..or be better than him?! You..I don't.." he trailed off not able to complete his sentence. His hands came up to his head as he gripped his hair lightly, not able to look at her.

"I... I...", she was struggling to get her own words out now. She couldn't even get passed the one measly letter. Tamis did not mean it, not in her right mind she couldn't. But in all the confusion she was beginning to even second guess her own self.
She was beginning to itch horribly and sweat was now coating her face from what threatened to be a very dangerous fever. Like the Chicken Pox, the Dragon Pox was much easier to get at a younger age, lucky for Charlie, as you got older, the symptoms tended to... intensify.
The fever and drama winding together finally took its toll and her legs buckled from beneath her. She should have sat down.

As Banks waited for her reply, he could see her condition growing worse and his face trasformed from anger to worry. Suddenly she collasped and all the anger disappeared.
"Tamis!" he yelped as he knelt down to her and picked her up. Heading the a nearby bed, he constantly looked down at her. "Tam, say something. Can you hear me?" he was not sure what caused the fall. But he had to make sure she was at least able to understand him.
