Another small laugh escaped Drew and he couldn't help thinking that coming off like a jerk was almost inevitable... not just for Artie. Just about any guy asking a girl out usually ended up looking like an idiot.
"Why are you asking me?" Drew asked honestly. He had only been on one first date in his whole life. "You just ask her is all..."
Again, he knew there was more, but wasn't sure how to explain it. Actually, now that he thought about it, Allegra had given him some pretty good advice on the matter. "My sister kind of helped me out on my first date. I figured she knew what she was talking about, being a girl and all."

"But Drew I really really really like her and i don't want to seem stupid asking her to come wth me." Art said to the older boy he jsut wanted to know what to say becasue right now he was but mere inexperiacne and ignorance, that warm feeling was so new and so great. " I don't have a sisiter or girl to ask... I would have asked CJ but she's been acting way weird lately. and I wil not ask Professor raynor about this so I figured I'd go to you." he reasoned laughing slightly at the idea of asking Raynor.

"I don't know what you want me to tell you," Drew answered. "You just ask her and hope she says yes. But the thing is, you can't look too confident or else she thinks you're cocky. And if you look too unsure, she'll think you're a wimp.... You just kind of have to be yourself."

"How do I know if I'm saying something stupid though?" he asked the older boy. Come on Drew just tell me the trick please? He thought to himself sure that there was a trick to asking a good lookin' girl to dance with you; essentially a secret garrenteed to insure he got a 'yes.' He pushed back a lock of his blonde hair out of his eyes and a smile was on his face, just thinking of Fyona made him happy, well more than happy, that warmth blossomed in his chest and it felt so nice.

It was the question asked by every guy who had ever asked a girl out. You stood before them like a bumbling idiot and opened your mouth wishing you had something clever to say, but of course, you never did. How do I know if I'm saying something stupid? Drew shrugged, giving the kid a sympathetic look.
"You don't."

Art groaned there had to be something Drew wasn't telling him some secret, some way to insure her acquiescing to his request. He liked her she was so pretty, she had Chase beaten in every way. 'Seriously Drew tell me the secret... Please?" He asked trying to get the answer he wanted so badly. His blue eyes centered on the older boy as if Art's staring at Drew would forse him to divulge the secret to Fyona's heart.

Dang, the kid was annoying even when he wasn't being mean and rude. What in the world made Art think that he was the expert on the subject of girls? It was obvious that the little Slytherin would not be happy until Drew gave up secrets so Drew did the only thing he could think of.
He lied.
"Okay, I'll tell you... See, girls are really beings from a different planet and you have to placate them with presents or else they'll take you back to their mothership and probe you where you really do NOT want to be probed. They are quick to anger so your best bet is to always tell them what they want to hear. If they ask if you are listening, you answer yes. If they ask if they look fat, you say no. Deviate from these and they will rip your face off and feed it to their little purse poodles."

Art groaned he knew better than that, true enough Girls were a different species but every guy knew that right? He knew they weren't aliens and he knew he wouldn't be... probed. "Yea right... thanks Drew." He said rolling his eyes, he was looking for the way to a girls heart but all Drew had mentioned was gifts. The only time his dad gave his mum gifts were on her birthday (They were form Art and Frank) Valentine's day, and the elusive anniversary. but hey... now that you mentioned it Art did remember every time his mom got bad at his dad he came home with flowers and told her he was sorry... maybe you did need to buy their hearts... maybe...

"You think I'm kidding?" Drew asked, seeing the Slytherin's expression. Aside from a few alien exagerations, he had pretty much told Artie the spot on truth. Presents worked wonders with girls.
And the correct answer to looking fat was always that they absolutely did not.

Art thought for a few moments after Drew asked if he thought he was kidding, he refelcted back to what his father and mother said sometimes and he realized Drew was right... at least partially right. Women couldn't be aliens but some of the stuff Drew said made sense. " I doubt the Alien part...." He said trailing off "...but I guess you are right about the other stuff." he finished after a few seconds of pause.
