Two very hard charms the NEWTs were going to learn today. However, the first charm, which was easier, they were going to learn was Aparecium, which turns invisible ink visible to read. On every desk was a letter that was blank, however, it wasn't. It was a paragraph of a sort, and the NEWTs were going to graded on. The second charm, was the Dillusionment Charm, which hid the truth of a magical nature. Mainly like a invisiblity charm. It was not going to be mastered by any of the NEWTs today, promise that.
He waited at his desk as the NEWTs arrived. It was going to be a good lesson today.

Drew was usually bored in Charms, having already studied almost everything Professor Snow was covering. The Ravenclaw had made it a point from his first year to stay ahead of his year and with the help of his sister's notes, he had done an excellent job in that area. He usually spent most of his classes reviewing his notes, and sitting back while the others tried the spells out under Snow's instruction.
But this particular lesson was something he was still trying to perfect: Disillusionment. He had managed a bit of waviness and in one practice session, actually making the puffskien he had been working with disappear for a second, but that was it. The Ravenclaw was looking forward to the practice and ran down the hall to class, slid into the room on his heels, and took his seat quickly, smiling at the man in front as he got his things out and ready.
"Hallo, Professor!" Drew greeted the man cheerily, setting up his work area with books, notes and quills.

It was her first time back in the class since the beginning of the term. While she'd spoken to Davenport about joining a long time ago she had to track down Snow and request permission to join her fellow classmates in the class she hadn't made the required O.W.L. score for; she had passed, just not well enough. After explaining why she wanted to continue with the class in order to continue further learning in an area she didn't not excel in, the professor was kind enough to allow her to join.
A nervous wreck about the prospects of joining the class, especially after the fiasco of the previous term where he'd tried to make them duel one another and Celina hadn't been present, Felicity entered the class knowing it would be a mix of both sixth and seventh years. Three good things about the class all ready? She knew Connor, Celina, and Drew were all taking the course. And even more? She knew a good number of her year mates and the year ahead of her so it made her feel a little better about joining, even so late. However, if she wasn't comfortable with a charm she had all ready decided she'd not be performing in class, she would wait for Drew to help her with it later if he had the time to.
And in seeing the Head Boy, Felicity walked as quietly as she could and slid into the seat behind him, hoping she wasn't in someone else's seat. "Drew," she said softly, reaching forward to poke him gently in the back. Felicity hadn't told him she'd be joining in the lesson, only that she was thinking of asking permission to continue the class.

Charms, a pleasant class for Tristan. The only thing he didn't understand about the syllabus for today's lesson was the Disillusionment Charm. He knew what Aparecium was by the name of it, but the disillusionment? What was that? By the way it sounded, it sounded like a illusion, and with a dis, sounded like not a illusion. Maybe something you couldn't see? Invisible, maybe? He had thought that invisibility was impossible. Were they going to learn HOW TO become invisible?
By any other means, he walked into the class seeing Drew and Felicity. Felicity? He thought she didn't have the OWL credit. But, he didn't want to bother her and ask her, although he would like to know. He would probably ask her tonight while patrolling. Speaking of patrolling, he had a prefect meeting tonight with the other prefects. They had too many after that fourth-year Hufflepuff incident, although Tristan thought Felicity letting her go was really nice, because he couldn't imagine what other prefects would of done.
Taking a seat, he sighed and looked at his desk.

Anna was actually excited about charms class for a couple of reasons. One was that it was one of her best classes and two, it was her only class with Tristan. As she climbed up the stairs to the fifth floor and hung a left down the corridor, the girl entered the classroom to find Drew, Tristan and Felicity. Wait a minute...Felicity? Wasn't she one of the ones who didn't pass her Charms OWL? At least, that was what Anna had heard and she was never in the past classes except for last year. Thinking better of it to go up and ask her, the girl just walked on and pulled up in front of Tristan.
"Hey." she greeted softly taking the seat next to him. "Watcha staring at your desk so much for?"

Drew jumped at the poke and turned around quickly to see whowas behind him. Surprise didn't begin to describe his feelings at seeing the pretty blonde Gryffindor and he couldn't help but smile at her.
"Hey you!" he drawled, turning around in his seat to face her, a wide grin plastered across his face as he leaned on the back of his chair. "What are you doing here?" he asked in a low voice, figuring she probably didn't want everyone to know she didn't exactly make the OWL to get into the class.

The look on his face was enough to keep her spirits pretty high about the thoughts of being in the class she hadn't really cared much for. While she was in it for a reason, and Drew wasn't the reason, she thought she might be able to handle the class quite nicely, especially being right behind him.
"What? You don't want me here?" she asked, sticking her tongue out at him. She knew that wasn't what he'd meant by asking what she was there for, but she couldn't resit the tease. "I talked to Professor Snow about attending the class and he agreed that it would be all right for me to continue the lessons." Actually she knew she'd shown improvement with Drew's help, but had shown lack during the end of the precious term considering she hadn't wanted to continue after the previous lesson. And taking note of Drew's voice, she had to appreciate that he was willing to be a little quieter about her not supposed to have been there and was willing to be gentler on his tone of asking.

Drew made a face back at her, wishing like mad that he could kiss her in class. She just looked too cute not to kiss, but it really wasn't appropriate there in front of everyone. Maybe he'd get a chance after class...
"That's awesome!" he said, pleased that not only had she gotten the okay to sit in on lessons, but now this gave him one more hour to be with her. Plus... " We'll have to set up some study sessions," he told her, raising an eyebrow at her.

"More?" she asked, rolling her eyes in feigned disgust. Truthfully, she liked the idea of having study lessons with him as she enjoyed the opportunity of having hands-on learning. He gave her special attention so she could take time at her own pace to learn how to properly perform charms, not to mention he made her feel comfortable about making as many mistakes as she often did.
"But Professor Snow was really nice about it," she continued happily. "I went to him a little while ago after thinking a lot about what Davenport said to me about maybe asking if I could attend lessons so I could show that when I look for a job working with creatures I can perform charms well enough, just that I needed a little extra help, maybe."

"We can never have enough study sessions," Drew answered seriously. "Besides, I think we need a whole lot more work on some of those other subjects." He especially thought they needed lots of practice in that one particular subject Felicity had named.
"That's great!" he said happily when she retold the events that led up to her joining the class. He was still confident that she would eventually be able to do the spells without the help if he kept practicing with her, but had a feeling she'd just argue it if he said so.

Ashamed. Very ashamed. As the bell rang, he couldn't believe they were only 4 students inside the classroom. He thought maybe everyone else was under a invisibility cloak. Maybe not. Sighing, he paced around. "Can't believe this. Only 4 of you students are here. Three extra points to the each of you for actually being here," he said chuckling, still can't believing. He coughed to clear his thoart.
"Um, before I say anything else, I like to welcome Miss Felicity Hjort. She took a Owl Recovery exam and passed it. She will be with us for now on," he said smiling big and clapping his hands.
"Now, the lesson. If you read this syllabus, you will be learning Aparecium, it is an ..ehh... ok spell to learn. But, the most you will learn today and few other days is the Disillusionment Charm. Can someone tell me about the Disillusionment Charm?" he asked, actually looking at Mr. Thornton to answer this one. But if anyone else knew this one as well, he would be happy as well.

Sitting near the back, Josh had his head down on his folded arms, looking around the room. His eyes followed the professor's words as he said something about Felicity being in the class now. He recognized the blond girl from other classes and from that day she'd nearly gotten taken out by the suit of armour. A light smile crossed his face, and then he turned his attention back to the professor. Today was going to be a tough lesson apparently, even though Josh was already pretty familiar with most of the charms.

"It's a charm used to hide the true, magical nature of something," Caleb offered when the professor asked for an explanation of the charm, "It's used on Hippogriffs and other winged horses so they go unnoticed by Muggles." Caleb was fairly familiar with the charm and was glad he could contribute to the class. He wasn't sure if he had ever said a word in classes before and it was a little weird; Caleb wasn't ever one to voice his opinion like that.

Lucas knew the charm well. He'd heard of it before, hadn't practiced it, but knew what it was. His hand almost found its way into the air to answer the question asked by the professor, but Caleb, his Hufflepuff friend, had gotten to it first. Lucas realized it had been a while since had seen his friend, but he knew that was his own fault. He hadn't seen anyone lately and that was because the boy had retreated entirely into his own little world. Lucas knew his mother would be so angry at him if she knew how he was acting, but there wasn't anything he could do.
When his mind came back into the real world, Lucas' hand started to write down what Caleb was saying about the charm. If he was going to drag himself to class, Lucas figured he might as well take notes.

Wrinkling her nose at Drew, she really didn't mind studying a lot with him. After all, the more studying she got in with him now, the more she'd be able to do on her own hopefully the next term when he wasn't at Hogwarts. And when he mentioned some of those other sections, she wasn't entirely sure what he meant. Did he mean Herbology? Like when she helped him with that class though she really didn't think he needed the help? Then again, she decided it didn't really matter, after all, studying was studying, no matter the subject matter.
And when Snow started the class, Felicity felt herself want to sink under the desk when Snow explained her presence to the entire room...not that everyone was there. Just where were Celina and Connor? Felicity knew both were in the class, Celina had told her so, and so did Connor tell her that he was in it. So her first day back and neither were there? It kind of made her feel a little off about being there, but at least Drew hadn't skipped out too.
As Snow continued, finally bringing up the lesson, Felicity busied herself with writing down notes. She was there for the class to learn, not to just be there and talk with Drew, she knew that, it just so happened to be a bonus that her boyfriend was in the class. Not to mention a couple of her other friends were there too, Caleb and Lucas.
