Xander sat on his chair, thinking. His chair wasn't behind his desk this time though, it was near a window and a crate was infront of it. His injured leg was propped up on it and he was looking out the window, looking but not really seeing anything. He was also holding something in his injured left hand while his right hand was rubbing it, a glass frame that no one would really understand the importance of. He was thinking and waiting for someone, not in a good way though.
Xander was waiting for Andrew thornton, he had detention to do still. He couldn't believe it that he forgot about that, he only remembered it with an incident when he caught the headboy doing something that wasn't really normal for a headboy to do, doing pranks. He sighed and closed his eyes for a brief moment before opening them again, "Students love to hate me" he muttered.

{OR ME } Drew was of mixed feelings about this particular meeting. No one liked having detentions, but when it came down to it, the Ravenclaw had asked... no, demanded this. On the other hand, it was kind of a bummer that Griffiths had caught him in the middle of a serious experiment on gravity and thus remembered Drew's request. His backpack full of books slung over one shoulder, the seventh year reached the fifth floor at exactly the perscribed time and was knocking on the door before the clock finished stricking the hour. Just because he hated the guy didn't mean he needed to forget his manners.

Xander looked at the door as he heard a knock, he took out his wand and used it to open his wand. "Hello, Mr. Thornton. Please, sit down" he said, flicking his wand and conjuring a chair near his. He had no real use today so he was relying on his wand a lot more than before. He knew he probably looked a bit useless to his students, but it was the only thing to go. He was injured and having him limp around often will probably stop his leg healing.

Drew gave a long sigh as he pushed through the door, really wishing he was anywhere else than in this particular office. The last time he had been there, it hadn't been under the best of circumstances. Not like this was going to be a picnic, but it would probably be better than the fist fight that had inssued during his last visit.
Drew looked at the offered chair but had no intention of sitting anywhere near the man. The Ravenclaw was there to work off his punishment, not to chit-chat with the Historian. "No, thank you. I'm fine standing for now. I'm here. What did you want me to do?" he asked as he let his back pack slip off his shoulder and into his hand, but he made no move towards the window where Griffiths sat.

Xander looked at Thornton and removed the frame from his injured arm and also adjusted the sling, he pocketed the frame and pointed at the chair. "I want you to sit down and listen to me" he said, looking at Andrew. He wasn't going to be courteous right now, he was a bit bothered with thinking and his injuries. He then took out his wand again and summoned a few stacks of books over to him and levitated them to the crate beside his injured leg, "I'm not really capable of doing much today, so your detention will be helping me." he said.
Xander then grabbed one of the books on top of one of the stacks there and started flipping through it, looking at Andrew and waiting for him to move. He didn't have all day, because these books can take more than an hour to be done with.

Drew hadn't had a detention yet that hadn't been helping a professor in some way. The teachers usually saved the most undesirable jobs for students caught out of line: Davenport's flobberworm milkings, Tapia's cauldron cleanings, even the filing he had done for Raynor had all been doing a job they prefered not to do. The Head Boy had assumed that this would be no different.
A number of smart-ass remarks entered Drew's head and he couldn't help smirking just a little. It probably wouldn't help matters to voice them so Drew kept the comments to himself for the time being. He still didn't see why he needed to sit down, nor did he care to listen to the man, but decided against questioning the man. Drew knew he wouldn't get a reasonable explaination anyway, so what was the point in wasting his breath?
He stepped over to the chair and sat without a word, placing his backpack on his very large shoes and waiting silently for directions.

Xander didn't look at Andrew, until he was sure that the boy was seated on the chair. He then turned to Andrew and said "You'll be helping me sort these projection tomes out, that's what you will do for today. Tomorrow's detention will be different, all you need to do it open the book and see what history it is about. Linger all you want on the projections, I don't really care. I just need help sorting them out, I'll be having my own stacks to sort out as well." he then flicked his wand towards the stacks of parchment on his desk and levitated them to his lap.
He then picked up the one ontop and silently read it, some of the parchments here were the notes he used in his lessons and his students notes. "When your done sorting that pile, there is another smaller pile beside my chair, that pile just contains about 3 to 6 books so it should be fairly easy. Anyway, onto work. I'll just rewind them myself later" he said, not wanting to feel useless right now.

Griffiths and his stupid projections tomes. Drew had avoided the man's class like the plague, but from what he had heard, the so-called professor had his students watch the dang things instead of actually teaching anything. And just what the heck was wrong with reading a book?
As usual, Drew found the man's directions vague. If Griffiths didn't like to be questioned, he really needed to specify the details. "Exactly how do you want me to sort them?" he asked, obviously puzzled, but trying his best not to sound snippy. "Chronologically, alphabetically by topic, by researcher, by relevence to the class that will be using it, by size, by state of repair or disrepair...?"
"And where do you want them once they're sorted?" Drew asked, thinking it was pointless to sort things without putting them in a specific place. Someone would just have to sort them all over again. "Do you want them marked in any sort of way as I'm sorting through them?" Another good way to make sure they wouldn't need to be sorted through again. Drew wasn't even going to bother asking why they weren't marked to begin with if they were that important.

Xander looked at Andrew before saying, "Mark them by country, those who you see that need any repair, leave them here ontop of the crate, the put the one's you've sorted out to those shelves" he pointed out the shelves where there were alredy a few books placed. There were also tags there indicating where a certain country was. "If there is a book that you see is really old, place it beside the stack of the one's needing repair. If you have anymore questions, I'm just sitting here." he finished, looking back down on the notes and sorting through them by country and by student houses.
He flicked his wand and conjured four boxes, one for ravenclaw, gryffindor, slytherin and hufflepuff. He then summoned one more box for his lesson notes, then he started piling them. The boxes were fairly filling, though it was because most of his students have more than one page to their notes.

Drew thought it was odd for a Historian to mark things by country, figuring that would be something a geographer or an anthropologist might do, but the Ravenclaw didn't question out loud. Drew decided he had spoken enough and really didn't feel the need to say anything else.
He lowered himself onto the floor, finding it easier to work when he could spread out a bit, and pulled a stack of tomes towards him. He opened the firsgt one, saw enough of it to realize it was Egyptian in nature and closed it back up, marking it as such and placing it to the side. He had no plans to linger over the projections more than was absolutely necessary. Anything to get the job done quickly so he could leave.

Xander looked down at Andrew as he sat down on the ground, he looked at him for a few more seconds before turning back to the notes he was sorting. He dropped a small stack that was all Celina Jedynak's on the Ravenclaw box and search for more stray notes on Ravenclaw, then he levitated the blue box to a corner beside the shelves and then turned back to the notes.
He looked around and put down the last of the Gryffindor notes, which was Chris Nagle's notes, and levitated the red box beside the blue one. He then proceeded to look through the remaining notes and put them in the boxes.

Greek, Roman, Chinese, Australian... Drew silently labeled and sorted through the tomes one by one, putting aside the ones that seemed in need of repair. He didn't bother viewing any of them for long, though he couldn't help but take his time through the Mayan and Aztec information. He put them into two separate piles but it wasn't until he got to a tome on the Italian Renaissance that he had another question for the man. "Uh... did you want it by country, or civilization?" he asked, knowing that the man had said country, but now realizing that he already had two different Mexican civilizations, two for Italy, and three separate dynasties for China. Granted, the Chinese magic didn't change much from one era to another, but Ancient Rome was way different from what was going on in the 1400s.

Xander Froze half way from reading Matty's notes, and he looked at Andrew. He heard the boy ask and he replied, "you can do whatever order you want with them, Andrew. But the pile must be by country, I understand that you must have seen the different civilizations there. It is a bit confusing, but do as you see is right." He looked back on the notes and started reading it again, casting brief glances at Andrew from time to time.
Eventually, after he finished reading Matty's notes, he summoned back the Ravenclaw box. He then searched for Tianne's notes and then he levitated his bag next to him, he pulled out his books there and opened them. "Clever girl" he muttered, looking into the books that he wrote and the notes that Tianne had.

"Okay..." Drew answered, figuring this would probably be the time to organize things by some sort of timeline. Again, the Ravenclaw figured that if griffiths didn't like it, Drew could just re-do it next time. Big whoop.
He had a few decent stacks going already and decided to put what he had sorted onto the shelves. And that brought up another question. "Do you want me to do this all without magic?" he asked, thinking that the sorting was obviously supposed to be done by hand, but he wasn't sure about the shelving. Not that he really cared one way or another, but doing the shelving by magic meant he wouldn't have to keep getting up, walking back and forth, and breaking his back to carry the dang tomes.

Xander turned to Andrew again and said "Do it by magic, I know it can get tiring by going back and forth from here to the shelves. If you ever get tired or just need a break, there's a pitcher of pumpkin juice and two goblets beside it on my table, feel free to drink. I'm not cruel at detentions." he then turned back to his notes and shifted a little making him wince, he looked down at his leg and saw blood already seeping through the bandages. He sighed and placed the notes down, then he looked at Andrew.
"I hope you don't mind, but I need to change my bandages. Just don't look if you don't want to see what I'm doing" he said, turning back to his leg and slowly taking off the bandages. Then he stared at his leg and cringed, before closing his eyes for a brief moment and opening them again. He cleaned the wound by conjuring a wet cloth and then wrapped it in new bandages, Xander vanished the cloth and blood soaked bandages, then turned to his arm. It was almost soaked also, so he cleaned and re-dressed it as well. Then he grabbed his notes and started sorting them one handed again.
