Jax remained where she stood. Her knees locked and all she could do was peer around the corner at her professor and captain. She'd only move if Ari did, and frankly with the potion in her hand at the ready, Jax had finally decided that she'd throw it at the first chance she'd get. But when would that be? It wasn't looking as if anyone was moving to fast, and frankly if she made herself known even more, or walked into the light she may be caught more than just by her noises. Yes, she had made a mistake, but she'd make up for them. She just wasn't sure how yet.
Again her professor told the man who still remained in the shadows to follow him to be escorted out of the castle. If he was a criminal, did that make Marcos his accomplice? Had they set this whole thing up just in case students or aurors were to find out what what they were doing? Clever, but now what? Did they really expect the students to leave? Fat chance. Jax wasn't about to leave, not with her favorite professor and the captain of her quidditch team still in front of some man that Jax couldn't see, and barely could hear. But then, what was so familiar about the voice of the man that she heard from the shadows. A few words was all she had caught throughout the night, but there was something to the voice. Being at Hogwarts for three years, you'd think that Jax would know who was lurking in front of her, but she did not. After all, Herbology never was her favorite class. She let out a silent breath to breath in another. She wasn't going to move, not until they made their moves first.
After all, if Professor Marcos, the shadow man, and Ari all left, there still might be a chance for Jax to complete the bet. It was a long shot, but she would prove herself yet.

Quite frankly the seventh year looked like she might take a shot at him herself, not that it would surprise him really, she had every reason to in her own mind. Oh yes he knew of her gamblings with death from across the pond, had nothing to do with them, but he knew of them and that was all that was really required.
As the vampire ordered the students to bed, he knew one thing and doubted another. He knew that Arianna would not move, and he doubted whomever was to his rear would move either. The latte,r of course most likely didn't realize just how powerful the man's senses were, the former, well, she was just plain stubborn and foolish. However he'd oathed no aggression, and for once it was an oath he pledged to keep.
"Senor," a pause. "If you would please follow me. And I will warn you now not to attempt to betray me. I have little patience and it has already been sorely tried tonight."
The voice was enough to chill the air, however the vampire was lucky Robert was not a man of the literals, not to mention a good sport. Otherwise his word choice might well have gotten him killed, either that or, well, at least unconcious. Robert was many things, and a murderer was not among them as of yet. It was merely one of many charges he hoped to be able to avert.
"I'll keep that in mind." Robert countered as he turned only half-back on the couragous Ravenclaw and toward the darkness where still no one had moved. They had every right to be...suspicous, but to remain before him was foolish, and if this actually had been planned it would've been a quite decent equivilent of suicidal to boot.
Marcos was indeed an interesting man, a man who deserved his respect not out of fear, but admiration. No doubt the man had overcome many obstacles, and it was obvious that within overcoming them he had changed not what he was as a vampire, but who he was in his vampire-ic mind. He would be a tough one to negotiate with, but if he could keep him Neutral, his only real threat would be dealt with...
Perfect.

Apparently the man had no words for her. It was a relief, but somehow irritated the girl even more. She couldn't quite put her finger on why she felt just so. Perhaps she expected him to give an apology or some sort of explanation. Or maybe he simply wished her to know that he knew who she was. Perhaps a warning bell should have gone off for her, but instead of worry, Arianna felt completely annoyed. The only thing keeping her level-headed at the moment were the thoughts swirling in her brain. She would trust Marcos to escort the man out, perhaps even to bite Shaws head off should he try anything. But if the vampire failed, perchance, she would find a way to get Shaw herself.
Raising an eyebrow at the professor, Arianna relented. She would have expected to have a talk with the man after tonight, but it worried her none. Detention would be welcome if she knew Shaw was nowhere near her.
"I'd like to escort the other student to his...or her common room," she spoke plainly, confidently. Some strange new energy enveloped the girl and it could be seen in her stature, heard in her voice. Arianna didn't know who this other student hiding in the shadows could be, but it felt imperative to assist them, even if they weren't in any immediate danger.
It seemed that Arianna would now have to trust her camera to be safe in the news room for tonight. She certainly wouldn't be getting a chance to get to it tonight.

Juan was losing his patience. No matter what he did, the students continued to endanger themselves. They were just too stubborn and too filled with that teenage sense of invincibility. They may know very well how much danger they could be in, but there would always be that sense of unreality, that it wouldn't happen to them. Not to mention, teenagers seemed to have a bad habit of not entirely thinking their actions through before performing them. Thankfully, the second student did not seem overly eager to reveal themselves and Arianna had agreed to return to her dorm.
Hm... this might work out alright after all. Arianna wanted to escort the other student back. This would eliminate both problems, allowing Juan to get Shaw out of the building and away from the rest of the students as soon as possible.
"Very well," Marcos assented, "But it is in your best interests to be gone from here before my patience is worn any thinner tonight. As I stated before, I will deal with you later."
The professor walked towards the shadowy man and gave him a slight nod, a signal to start moving in Arianna's direction. Juan did not want him to discover the other student's identity and as long as he placed himself between Shaw and the girl, nothing bad was likely to happen. This was the best bet and the easiest way to get out, considering no one else had moved yet.
"Let's go Shaw," Juan said coldly, making no attempt to hide his disaste this time, "I want you out of here now."
Perhaps Marcos was being too liberal with the man. Juan knew he was dangerous, but so far he had taken no action. This may have given the astronomy professor an inflated sense of saftey, that the man would take no action at all. But, whatever the case, Marcos was less guarded and a little less careful of tripping up and offending the man. This could prove to be a mistake, but everybody makes mistakes; it's only human.

And so that was it? Or was it. Jax's Captain would soon be coming over to her to "escort" her back to the house and the man in the shadows, whom now Jax had a name to, Shaw, would be lead out of the building. Story over, done with, no harm done to anyone on a fine, but deathly night. Boring, but simple all in the same. Was it really over that soon? That easily? And why did the name Shaw ring a bell? Looking back on her memories, Jax could only remember one name that could have resembled that of a 'Shaw' and that was an old Herbology teacher that...well, she never really paid all that much attention in Herbology in her three years of being at Hogwarts. And wasn't his name 'Sham' or 'Shark'? Damn, she told herself that after this night, she really had to start paying more attention to people, professors, and small details that could be imperitive later. Frustrated she looked back at the two visible people and waited for the one in the shadows to move. Looking back at the potion in her hand, and toward the older ravenclaw that was soon to be coming towards her she smiled mischeviously. Maybe, just maybe, the night wasn't as over as she thought.

And so one opted to bail the other, a both interesting and ironic consolation considering the circumstances of the current dilemma. With the duo of students apparently about to be dispersed it appeared he'd get his one-to-one after all, even though it appeared Marcos was far from being in a conversing mood. No matter, it wouldn't be the first time he'd pushed his luck within these walls and it certainly wouldn't be the last so as long as he drew breath. It was the same as muggle schools, anyone would tell that no matter how much you said you'd never come back you always did...though usually one's reasons for returning were positive as opposed to his own.
As the vampire motioned him toward the seventh year's direction, Robert nodded however he did not move. He would not do so as long as the girl was still in his path. She held bitterness, anger, and regardless of her current composure he would refuse to go near her. He did not fear her, no, he feared her wand, and her emotions. Composure was the easiest thing in the world to fake, and right now she had a calm demeanor, but determined tone and Robert knew nothing of what exactly the purpose of that determination was.
"You may want what you will meg venn, however I am the one who is putting his neck across the block. I have not drawn my wand since, nor will I do so henceforth, of that you have my word on what little honor that still remains able to be staked upon my name. However, I wish Miss Shriver's word to the same, as she is the only thing currently impeding my path." Again he was being bold, but logically so as well. There was nothing keeping the seventh year from simply killing him in this corridor and quite frankly while Marcos had little of death to truly worry about, Robert was mortal and like every other mortal man he feared it. Perhaps not immensely but he feared death before realization.
(Meg venn == Norwegian: "my friend")

Arianna moved back to give the men a wide berth. She didn't want to be even this close to Shaw, nor any closer, but she would have to deal with it until they had passed and then she grab the other student and hurry her to the common room. She was surprised, though, when Shaw didn't move. If she didn't know better, Arianna would have thought he was afraid of her! Imagine...a full grown wizard with real world experience being unnerved by the hidden wand of still-a-student Arianna. She wouldn't let the thought settle and give her over confidence, though. The girl couldn't even unsettle a first year, let alone anyone older than her and it would be foolish to think she could.
"You have my word," Arianna spoke with some difficulty. That had to be the hardest statement she had made all night. Actually, the whole last ten minutes or so were right up there at the top of her list of the most difficult, longest, terrifying, horrible ten minutes she could remember. She desperately wanted to pound the guy; to see him get pounded, but she couldn't for various reasons. She might be touted as a hero if she did get rid of him, but would it be worth the trouble she might receive?

Juan waited several anxious moments before the Ravenclaw finally responded, giving her word not to draw her wand against the man. The vampire let out a sigh of relief, an entirely human gesture, but definately one that the situation warranted. Tension had been building and with the simple exchange of promises from those involved, it had been relieved. It was not, however, over yet. Marcos still had to get Shaw out of the building and away from the students. Time was ticking steadily and they had, thus far, been unable to move out of this stalemate. With every minute that passed, the chances of being discovered and the situation blowing up increased.
"Does this satisfy you?" Marcos asked Shaw, "She has given her word, which should be quite enough for you, considering we are trusting yours."
Trusting? A realization struck the professor with a shock like an anvil to the head. Although the man was a known Deva member and had betrayed the school and its students, Marcos was not questioning his word. The feeling he was getting from the man did not seem to suggest a betrayal and Juan was surprised by this realization. The students, on the other hand, were a different matter entirely. They were tense and though they may not have been planning anything, it would be an easy matter to set them off. What was the world coming to? Here he was trusting a criminal and questioning his own students.
"Why did I ever take this job...?" he thought to himself.

The gesture of wide birth would have been found flattering to any member of royalty, a compliment of courtesy perhaps? While Robert was not personally satisfied, sacrifices and compromises would have to continue to be made on his part for anything to come out correctly. "A word, is a word herr Marcos, I have no other choice but to trust." Robert replied as he began to move on his own accord. While Marcos was questioning himself, Robert was questioning his next move. There weren't many options open to him at this point except to logically comply, or of course start brazenly casting spells around. It seemed he was at quite an impass indeed.
The tension for Robert would nag at his mind until he was free of both ths man and the castle. After all, it was Robert who was here unannounced and most certainly without hospitable welcome. Marcos was an intriguing man without question, any vampire who could retain the slightest of human emotion and actually live compatibly was more than a rarity to the times....
And a threat to his plans.
Robert could say nothing to the man until they were on their own, this felt more like a poor recreation of the Green Mile than it did a logical escape from a battlefield theatre. But no matter which method it took, he had to escape these halls. If that meant enlisting and trusting the aid of an apparant neutral, so be it.
(Awful, sorry all)

Funny, Arianna thought, that Shaw worried about her word. Funny that he worried about trusting her. Yes, she could do some damage here, but with the trouble already felt she was in, she didn't think she would need anymore. Whatever she might be able to do, Shaw could do more. There was no question about it, he had experience while Arianna only had knowledge. Even at that, it was still silly he was nervous about her. He, after all, was the one who had broken the trust of many, not she. He had been living the lie, not the girl standing glaring at him.
Stepping back even further into the shadows, Arianna struggled not to pull her wand. She still kept it at the ready, expecting some sort of action from the former professor. It didn't seem out of the question that he would do so despite saying otherwise. If he didn't get out of here soon, though, Arianna couldn't guarantee she would be able to keep herself under control much longer.

A standoff? Was her capt'n kidding? As Ari stepped further back into the shadows than before, Jax lost sight of her. Only person she could see was her Vampire professor and the emerging shadow of the well-known fugative. Jax still couldn't believe that Hogwarts could be infiltrated like that, but even worse, her thirteen year old mind couldn't comprehend why Ari was not doing as she had suggested to do in the first place.
Still the cardboard potion in her hand, Jax almost wondered if throwing it at the emerging shadow would do anyting, then again she'd probably miss so she thought better of it. Jax almost wished now that she had a secret whistle or something that Ari could tell it was her by. If she could, maybe she would have actually gone over.
Jax scratched an itch on her arm instinctively and her windbreaker made a very irritating sound. The sound wasn't loud enough to echo, but it was loud enough. She stopped suddenly realizing that that wasn't the best thing she could have done. Holding still and holding her breath, she wondered even if it was worth even hiding anymore since they knew she was over there. Though, her body made no other movements, and she told herself that she was not emerging so anyone could see her face. If anything, she still had a clear get away path. And if she had to, she'd use it.
