Charlie finally made it and Drew had to smirk at her entrance. Of course, she got right to the point, as blunt as she usually did. "I was trying for a bit of tact there," Drew pointed out, not wanting to scare anyone off by making it sound like they were forming some sort of vigilante group.
But she was right. Shoving Defense into the other classes was a half-assed way of teaching ths subject and a lame excuse to appease anyone who complained. While he doubted that everyone in the room planned on being Aurors, he was confident that there would come a time when they would all have to defend themselves.
"So... they keep telling us that we're covering the stuff, but the truth is, we aren't," Drew continued, figuring that the time for beating around the bush had passed. "We wanted to focus on the stuff we're missing... the stuff Snow and Brady don't have time to show us."

"No more time for tact here, bud," Charlie said with an ironic smirk, and looked at the room full of people. She listened to what Drew had to say, and nodded her head as she leaned on a desk and crossed her arms. Noticing a first year among their midst, she could only imagine how clueless the girl might have been. Nothing was the same without Raynor's lessons, that's for sure. And when it all came down to it, they had a lot to do, from teaching elementary defense to NEWT level DADA education. "We put this study group together not only to get refreshers goin' on old lessons we probably forgot, but also to get the ball rolling for some of you guys who don't even know how the heck to work your defensive charges." She stood up straight, and fished in her pocket a single roll of parchment. With one tap of the wand, the single leaf multiplied like a deck of cards. "Now in my hand are hard copies of Raynor's curriculum of all seven years." Her smirk was clearer than ever. Without much mention, she passed the pile to the ones up front to pass around the room. Looking back at Drew, she told him, "'Accidently' found them, so I decided to borrow it."

Layla shook her head and giggled at Charlie's introduction. The girl spoke the truth, and she refused to sugar coat it. It was to be respected, at least. Her only concern was for student's who weren't privy to all intended purposes of the study group might misinterpret Charlie's harshness. She was absolutely right, but she also had to start using caution.
She mirrored a smirk similar to Charlie's when she saw a full DADA curriculum passed around. Taking one for herself and handing the rest of the group, she scanned her green eyes along the page, recognizing the things involved with this task. "Well played, Charlie," she said, almost slipping and calling her by her proper name. "Sooo..." she murmured while she rushed the last few lines of the page that involved the 7th years. "How are we going to set all this up?" Seeing her friends take charge like that made Layla want to be involved too. She wasn't sure how useful she'd be, but she'd do what they'd ask.

"I got one up on you," Drew added, smirking at Charlie's revelation. He grabbed at his backpack and pulled out a set of well-used composition books with a wide grin on his face. "I have my sister's notes..." Allegra had been notorious for taking everything down, even if she already knew it. It would be almost as good as having Raynor teach the class herself.
But how to organize it was the bigger question. With a variety of years, they'd need to cover everything at once, or at least break it up with some sort to plan.
"The creatures we can probably cover in no time," Drew said, thinking that realistically, it wasn't like the Deva would attack them with a bunch of Red Caps anyway. "I think we can focus most of our energy on dueling. Start of with the basics and then whoever's ready, we move up."
One of Drew's biggest concerns was being told they couldn't hold their study sesssions. If someone came across them, there was a good chance they could get in trouble. "What do you say about just calling this a Dueling club?" he suggested, wondering what the others thought. "I mean, we would still cover all of the other stuff, but when it comes down to it, we're here to learn how to defend ourselves, right?"

Tianne smiled at Charlie when she entered, but didn't really think that she'd get a response. It didn't matter, of course, but Tianne wasn't even sure if Charlie knew who Tianne was. The young girl was excited for this to be happening, knowing that she was basically going to learn. The fact that she would be doing another class didn't even phase the girl, there was no chance that Tianne was going to turn this opportunity down, as she really needed help with her Defensive magic.
Tianne listened intently into Drew and Charlies comments, randomly nodding her head when she agreed with something. "I think thats good, I mean, is it okay for us to be doing this though. 'Study Group' is a lot more discreet, but i don't think that being discreet really matters?" Tianne said, rocking on her feet, as she did when she was talking to a few people. Wishing that she hadn't had her say, the young girl looked down, hoping that it wasn't laughed at or anything. Maybe she was right... Maybe.

Autumn looked at the clock in the common room and dashed out. She had heard from a little birdie about a special meeting. When she heard the hard details she knew she had to go. While being home schooled Autumn heard that DADA classes at Hogwarts had been cancelled. Her Mother, being the up-to-date women she was, when she heard about the cancellation she was worried and confused as to why they weren't going to be given anymore. She then decided upon herself to teach her daughter everything she knew about defensive spells. Autumn excelled in these classes, taking the everything in. Patronus Charm, Riddikulus, Shield charm, you name it, Autumn can do it.
She kept running to the classroom she heard about until she got there. Dressed in her 'normal; clothes she fixed her appearance before she opened the door. When she walked in she noticed she was quite late. She bit her lip, embarrassed that she had let time go. Quietly she snuck to a seat in the back, red in the face.

"They don't want us learning this stuff right out," Drew said plainly, obviously frustrated by the Ministry's ruling on the matter. He noticed Autumn slip in and take a seat in back and he smiled briefly and offered her a small wave before continuing.
"If we let it out that we're focusing on Defense..." Drew paused, looking around the room and hoping to God he could trust them. If not, then they'd have to go farther underground than this. "If it gets out... if Raynor finds about it... she's probably going to have to shut us down." Drew was pretty confident he could word things so that the Headmistress would know what they were doing, but at the same time be vague enough that they could stgill continue, but if Raynor heard it point blank, she'd have to put a stop to it. The Ministry would make her. He looked around at the small group once more. "Study Sessions. That's all we're doing." Hopefully they'd understand his tone to mean that they were doing much more, but they had to stick with that story.

The corners of the little snake's mouth turned up a little when Drew pulled out his sister's notes, given her reputation, and all the other information flying around the school about Miss Thornton he was surprised even one as big as Drew could carry that many notes and not fall over from the immense weight of three million tons of paper. This study group would give him everything he wanted and more, a way to protect Fyona and his mother, a way to stand and most importantly a way to show drew he could be trusted.
Art didn't blame the ol' wise raven for not trusting him, if their positions were reversed then he wouldn't trust himself but He had severed the ties to Diablo all that remained were some curses and magic techniques that were quite eccentric and odd in nature. Gotta love that kind'o'magic, the curses that are useless until they are the perfect ones for a single job. Still the shadow of the evil would definitely cause problems with Drew trusting him and that was something that would be conquered with time.
The young snake stepped back from Drew until he was close to Charlie his wand was in his hand and held by his right leg. he wanted to get eh lessons started, thats why he was here and he was going to work harder and longer than anyone.
