"But what if she doesn't want to tell?" she asked, her eyes becoming more worried. Or what if she misheard? While she knew she hadn't, it didn't mean her mum actually had something, it might just mean she was discussing a possibility of something with her doctor. It didn't sound likely, but it was possible, wasn't it?
And even just approaching her mum about it seemed too confrontational to the blonde, as though she were calling her mum a liar about it. Of course, she'd never asked before, so there was nothing to lie about, but it didn't seem right.
Leaning her head against Drew's arm, she sighed gently, trying to focus on Snowflake instead. At least she knew for certain the puppy was healthy.

"If she doesn't want to talk about it, then she won't," Drew answered, and while it was possible, he couldn't see Mrs. Hjort lying about it just to continue the secret. "If she knows you're concerned, she's got to at least explain a little bit though, doesn't she?"
He was mostly concerned that Felicity would be confrontational if she talked to her mom. He really didn't care for it when she accused him of lying or when she told him he was wrong when he knew he wasn't. He just hoped that when she did speak to her mom, that Mrs. Hjort would understand it was out of concern and not out of anger.
He really wasn't sure what to do. He could suggest she talk to her mom, but he couldn't make Mrs. Hjort talk about it... and he really couldn't fix whatever was wrong with Mrs. Hjort. He leaned in on her, resting his head on hers and held her tighter. He knew he could at least do that.
