Nathan watched in awe as Allegra took the ball and ran up to the basket, ending with a nice lay-up.
"I don't think you guys can touch this,"
The groundskeeper laughed out loud at her comment, rolling his eyes. The ball dribbled away from Allegra after sher took her shot and Nathan jogged over to pick it up. He took it and went as far from the net as he could be but still stay on the concrete. Bouncing the ball twice, Nathan lined himself up and then released the ball, watching it sail through the air and into the basket. "Easy three-pointer," Nathan boasted playfully. If she was going to get cocky, he could be even worse.

Cooper's eye followed the older girl as she did a lay-up and then boasted about how great she was. His eyes were wide because he'd never seen a girl that was good at basketball before. He turned to his dad who was just shooting a three-pointer and he walked over to him. Tugging on his shirt to make him look down, Cooper tilted his head back to see his dad. "Daddy, can I be on her team?" he asked hopefully, wanting to play with Allegra and beat the other two.

"Well, you'll have to ask her, Cooper," Nathan answered, squatting down next to him son and smiling at him, "Go on. Go ask if you can be a team." His eyes looked over to Drew who was standing there, watching his sister as well. If that was how to the teams were, he wondered how Drew was going to play it. Nathan knew he would let them get past him, but he wasn't sure if Drew would. As Cooper ran off to catch up with Allegra, Nathan made his way to Drew. "Do you mind being my teammate?" he asked with a playful grin.

Allegra thought that the two taller males playing together would have a slight advantage in the game, but it was hard to resist the little cutie in the cape.
"You're on my team?" she cried out gleefully as the little boy ran up to her and she put a hand out to him for a high five. "Only I don't know if it's fair for you to use your super powers against them. We don't want them crying when we beat them."

"Sounds good to me," Drew answered with a smirk, thinking it was a fine match up. The Ravenclaw would obviously go easy on the little guy, but there was no way he'd give his sister the same privledges. Cooper was still a kid and it wouldn't be very fair of him to take advantage of his own hieght and experience with the game. Allegra, on the other hand, was a pretty decent player and it just wouldn't be very brotherly of him to just give her the baskets.

"Too bad!" Cooper hollered happily, slapping his hand against Allegra's for the high five, "I don't even need my super powers to beat Daddy." He grinned a big grin at his dad before taking off after the ball that no one had gone after. He picked the ball up and dribbled it up to the hoop, tossing it over his shoulder and into the basket. Cooper jumped and yelled gleefully as he scored a basket, looking back at the others.
"First to 15!" suggested Cooper, as was the rules for all the times he played with Daddy, "You guys can start with 5 points 'cause you stink so bad." He held his nose and waved in his hand in front of his face jokingly.

Allegra raised an eyebrow at her little teammate, surprised at his cheekiness. She couldn't help but giggle at his smack-talking, but wondered if it was really a good idea to give the two young men the advantage of five points. She knew her brother would never play at full force against the little boy, but the Thorntons had grown up very competitive and she was pretty sure Drew would play just hard enough to keep the score close.
"Hold on there, Super Cooper! You might be able to beat Daddy, but he's got Drew on his side," Allegra said, and despite her thinking she couldn't help but add her own jab. "Better make it ten."
