So that was it. Should he let her escape now the next time he would see here was on a Tuesday at twelve thirty. He'd be there early most likely because no one would notice that he had left the office. Maybe that's why Rollo was acting the way he was because for the first time in a long time he was noticed. Out of the blue as it was he was being paid attention to and it felt good. Any other time though he knew that it would be awkward and he wouldn't be able to find the words as he had today. What words had he found though? Why the girl bothered with him was beyond him seeing as he really couldn't have been that intriguing conversation wise. Shaking his head at himself Rollo let the thoughts go because he knew all it would lead to was somehow him ruining the experience for himself. Inhaling deeply as she suggested that they meet there he nodded his head in agreement. She would find out about him then and all his flaws. The scars, how messed up he was, and the drinking and smoking were all turn offs for most people and they would most likely scare Luce away. So the contact and how she touched him were things that Rollo knew he should just enjoy for the moment. As the doors slid open at the sixth floor Rollo followed her out as she spoke and he shook his head in a bit of amusement at the fact of him being late or that leaving her was somehow preferable to going there. It wasn't far now anyway and he would at least savor the last minute he had with her.
"It's not a problem, they don't really take much notice to me and no one ever comes in my office. Most of my assignments just get slid underneath the door and when I'm referred to in conversation it's as "that kid with the scars who just came here from werewolf support" so I'm sure I can spare another minute or two to make sure you get where you're going."
Rollo realized and knew full well he had said far too much at that moment. Sighing at his own helplessness he walked Luce down the hallway to the test center. It wasn't a far walk nor was it a difficult one but he wouldn't dare pass up the extra time with her. Rollo knew he was getting in deep and need to get out before he was beyond rescue. He didn't want to rescue himself though and he knew it. Silently he removed his arm from hers as they arrived at the test center. Awkwardly moving his arm in a sweeping motion he pointed to the department and scratched the back of his head. Breaking contact with the gorgeous girl caused him to hesitate at that moment before he spoke. Rollo though gathered himself and shot her another sheepish smile.
"So this is it then. I'll see you 12:30 on Tuesday then. Good luck with your test and what not."
Rollo turned on his heel now and walked back towards the elevator. All that had just occurred rushed through his head and a mix of happiness and sadness filled him. It wasn't so much that he hadn't enjoyed the time spent but that it was over. That Luce hadn't asked him to just ditch work and spend the day with her. Stuff like that though, as Rollo full well knew, only happened in movies and to boys who actually had social skills. Rollo replayed it all though as he stood waiting for the elevator. Bumping into her, the three cigarettes that he had smoked, the way her hair kept on falling and how she had stopped it finally with the pin, and most of all how she had touched him. How she had wrapped her arm around his. Rollo knew that nothing else no matter how it was done even by her would compare in his life to those moments while their flesh touched. To him it would most likely be more intimate then sex or anything else that was supposed to be higher on the scale of things people did with the ones they loved. Sighing Rollo looked down and realized he probably wouldn't sleep until Tuesday and would most likely spend this time painting. For the longest time he had been with out inspiration and now he had someone who was acting as a muse. Rollo knew now that most of his day would be spent sketching her face and body for whatever he would paint that night. Sighing he heard the elevator ding and inhaled. Now he would have to go work and hopefully Rollo would manage to make it to Tuesday alive with all body parts intact.
