At his command Krissy quietened. The tears still fell down her face slowly but she huhed all the same. She stayed on the front of the bike watching as he took her down many different streets and past many houses. She was now in a part of the neighbour hood that she didn't go too often. But they were also far away from the police. As they went down the big hill the force of the wind dried Krissy's wet face. They had gone quite a distance now.
When the boy finally pulled over Krissy collapsed on the grass next to him. Not from exaustion but more from the fact they had finally stopped. The handles of that bicycle werent exactly the most comfortable thing in the world.
When Cadence smiled Krissy did too. His words coming to her just like they owuld from anyother kid. And Krissy, in much the child like way as she usually did things, grinned. "Okies" she said, no longer scared of the boy. She sat up and crossed her legs looking at the little boy. He was pretty good at fighting, maybe she would have to get him to teach her. "I'm Krissy" she said looking at him. "Wheres your house?"

“I’m Cade…short for Caden…short for Cadence.” He said, getting his breath back a little, his legs were still on fire but were slowly numbing. He sat up to and answered, “Out the city, six, seven mintes bike from here. I can take ya dhere, few minutes, when me breaths back.” He watched a group of boys playing Frisbee on a field that took up the good majority of the park for a few minutes before turning back to Krissy and saying, “We can go now. Might need ta stop once more, but…” He heaved himself to his feet and looked around for any immediate dangers then picked his bike up and waited for Krissy to get to her feet.
He looked around again, his legs were still hurting and he was getting weary, he saw no cops or anything that might lead to cops he also looked for any landmarks he recognized to get a more exact position on how far away they were. “We could walk. It only fifteen minte walk.”

Krissy smiled at getting the boys name. He seemed nice enough. Krissy stood up as he said they could go. Krissy knew her daddy would kill her if he found out she was no longer at the park, but she didn't mind, she had met a new friend. "I could ride if yur too tired?" she offered. Though, she hadn't actually ever put someone on the handle bars of a bike before, she wasn't sure how well that would work out. "Or walk" Krissy said with a grin. It did seem the safer choice. Krissy looked down at her arm which was still bleeding a little bit and wiped it on her pants. The blood didn't worry her too much, and her dad was used to her coming home with new cuts n scrapes.

“Walk then,” He said and started down the street, rolling the bike along his side. He was silent as they walked into the outskirts of town, then past the outskirts to the occasional house. Finally they came to run-down looking house, the lawn out-front was dead and weeds were growing up the side of the house, the front window broken and the garage door was up to reveal a mess that looked like a storage house. Caden wheeled his bike into the mess of the garage and grabbed, rope that fell almost to the ground, and pulled it shut while muttering, “Darn Keith.”
He turned and grinned at Krissy and said, “My house.” He picked a key up from under the doormat and unlocked the door before pushing it open. He tossed the key into the dirt near the door and grinned again, “Come in, quiet though, I’m not sure Mother’s up or sleepying.” With that he walked. The door opened right into the living room, which was a mess. The furniture was holey and random objects were strewn about the floor, a dark haired boy who looked fifteen years old or so named Keith was asleep on the couch and a Dale, a slim blond boy a few years older than him, was playing checkers in the corner with a red-headed boy he didn’t recognize but was also older, around Krissy's age.
Caden crept quietly to him mothers half open door and looked in, she was lying on the bed, jazz was softly playing from a radio somewhere, if she was asleep or not he couldn’t tell, better to be on the safe side and assume she was asleep. He walked to the bathroom and climbed up onto the counter to reach the medicine cabinet. He pulled out a box of band-aids, a box of tissues, some wet-naps, and a bottle of iodine and climbed down and, balancing all items at an odd angle in his arms, went back to the living room. “Mothers asleep, want to go out back?” Without waiting for answered he slid open the glass door and walked out back and sat down on the square of pathment right outside the door. The grass in the back was just as dead as that in the front and the weeds were worse, but there was a swing set, several balls, and some chalk.
He sat down, pulled out a tissue and held it to his bleeding lip, his nose was dried but there was still a little blood on his face.

Krissy's eyes looked around the house, it was lot different to hers, it was run down and looked like it could fall apart, where as hers was big and neat. But that didn't worry Krissy either way, she still thought it was a cool house. Krissy looked to the boys that were in the living room. She thought she had seen at least one of them before, but she didn't know for sure.
Krissy followed Cadence through his house and inot his mothers room, the thought of not entering not coming to her as she was little and those sorts of things don't quite occur to you when your young. Krissy then followed him out the back and sat down on the pavement next to him. "I like your house" Krissy said with a smile. It was true. His mother hadn't woken up and yelled at him, or at Krissy, which is what Krissy's mother would have done and it was messy. Krissy liked messy. Her room was the messiest place in her house and her mother was always screaming about it.
Krissy picked up wet-nap and began to wipe her wrist down, the blood was still coming slowly but there was also alot of dry blood down her arm and accross her hand where it had dripped to. Krissy grimaced slightly as she wiped it, it was kinda painful.

He grinned when she said she liked the house, “Its cool, hu? Like a big party, but there’s no cake and its the time, never know who’s gonna be here and you don’t have to pick up ever little thing.”
He watched her as she winced and muttered, “Sorry bout biting…" He took a wet-nap and wiped his face off, soaked a tissue in iodine and held it to his elbow which had gotten scrapped during their scuffle on the ground, it seared for a moment and he scrunched his face up then he removed the soggy tissue and put two band-aids on it, he loved band-aids. He put one across his lip where it had opend, covering half his mouth. He laughed and said in mumbled tones, “Neeb a babk-diad?” He took it off and laughed again.
“Little man, you shouldn’t waist those, they came out of my pay. If you want to use them as tape, go get the dog ones Alex got.” Keith said, he was leaning in the doorframe watching them. His eyes were dark, almost black, but kind, a bruise was visible creeping up his neck from under his shirt collar, and a cut was above his eyes. “And if you’re gonna do it, do it right.” He took a band-aid and put it all they way across Caden’s moth. “Much better.” He rubbed Cadens hair and said, “I’m heading out for a bit, I’ll bring you back some dinner, K little man?” He got up and left.
Cadence glared at him as he messed up his hair but couldn’t talk because of the band-aid so what he said came out muffled sounding something along the lines of, “Fruok moo Kiths.” When the older boy went back inside he peeled the band-aid off carefully and looked back at Krissy and grinned. “Big party.” He said.

Krissy giggled watching the bigger boy put the bandaid accross Caden's mouth. Krissy grinned. "I like parties, an' no matter" she said indicating to her wrist, which she then promptly placed a bandaid onto. She then grabbed some of the iodine and put it on her knee, which had been scraped from them being on the ground. Krissy scrunched up her face in slight pain. That stuff stung majorly.
"So hoo was that?" Krissy asked Cadence curiously, looking at the door through which the older boy had left. Krissy thought he looked really big, and had noticed the bruise, which probably meant he was really rough too. He looked like the type of person that if Krissy ever saw on the street she would run from, but then again, Krissy ran from alot of big people. She didn't like figures of authority that much.
"And I wish I didn' have ta pick stuff up in my house" Krissy said pouting slightly. "My mums always going nuts about mess.." In actual truth her mother was always going off about everything, but she decided not to mention that.

“You come over here sometime. Make big messys.” He offered with a grin. “Everybody welcomes at party.” He looked at the door as well, he could here a motorbike be started out front as Keith left. “That Keith, he comes here a lot. He like my big brother but he only show up two year before. He really likes party’s ‘cuz all he ever do is sleep or eat and make messys. He’s real fun.”
Now he had band-aids over everything and his lip was done bleeding he grabbed one of the pieces of colored chalk that was lying around and drew a smiley face one the sidewalk near him then added a stick body, stick arms, and stick legs. With different color chalk each time he drew a few stick figures before picking up a brown one and drawing a small stick figure and added red hair to it. ‘Kricy’ he wrote above it and drew an arrow then he labeled the other stick figures. Dale, Keih, BoB, A-Lex and Jacon. He laughed and drew ground under each stick figure. Has he finished he grinned at Krissy and asked, “You hungy? We got Jerky, and bread and peanut butter, and cookies.”

Krissy liked that idea. But she could see a problem "I don' think I'll no the way" Krissy said thinking. She didn't have a clue how they had got there. She too now had alot of bandaids on, some covering the right stuff, some just for the fun of it. "He sounds like fun." Krissy said spreaking about Keith.
Krissy watched as Caden drew little stick people all over the ground. "Their cute" she noticed him having drawn her. She grinned. That in itself was cute. But she also noticed one other thing. She picked up some chalk herself and drew another little stick figure. This one she wrote above saying 'Kade' Sure if was spelt wrong but she didn't know.
"Ohhh food" Krissy said grinning. Yes she had forgotten that she had told her dad she would be home for lunch. "Cookies" Krissy's grin widened. She loved cookies.

Caden drew a ‘C’ over the ‘K’ and walked inside. He came back out a few minutes later with a bag of chocolate chip cookies and set them down in-between the two of them before drawing out a cookie and taking a large bite of it. He grinned and wiped some crumbs from his lips.
“I show ya the quickest way when I take you home. It a pretty strait walk to the park.” He said after finishing hi mouthful, then he shoved the rest of the cookie into his mouth and chewed it happily. “What time do you want to go home? We might have a bike you can ride.”

Krissy grinned sheepishly as her changed her spelling. She really couldn't spell well at all so it wasn't surprising that she had gotten his name wrong. Krissy too grabbed one of the cookies and munched on it happily.
Krissy grinned, swallowing the cooking that was in her mouth she said "Oh goody. I know how to get to the park from my house, it isn' very far" Krissy said smiling. "And I dunno. Prolly before its dark, daddy doesn' like me bein' out afta dark" Krissy said shrugging "Dunno why tho'... "

“He’s weird.” Cadence said in between bites of his next handful of cookies. “Dark is fun. Very fun for playing Spy and Guard.” He heard yelling inside and looked up sharply. “Mothers up.” He said. “Sounds like she didn’t have a good nappy, want to go back to da park and play? Need to let her cold down.” He drew another stick figure and labeled it, ‘Moher’ and stood up. “We can take the cookies with us.”

Krissy heard the yelling too and frowned. A slightly scared look crossed her face. Him mummy seemed to yell like her mummy did. "My mummy yells like that too..." Krissy said looking furtively at the door. "Yeah... Lets go back to park" Krissy said wanting to stay away from the yelling woman. "I hope she is colded down by the time you get back" Krissy said looking around. She wasn't sure how they would get to the park from his backyard, she had come through the house afterall. Krissy grinned taking another cookie "Yeah lets go play"

“She will be, if not I’ll wait out front until till Keith gets here and hang with him,” He shrugged and walked around the side of the house and in through the side door. He came out with a bike, a boys bike , a little off in size but big enough for her to ride and his bike and and wheeled them to the front and set Krissy’s on the driveway and got on his. He rode in circles in the street while he waited for her, as he did he said, “Take the highway to West 17th then onto North Gay and down de rode and at the park. So soon as you reach the city it past eight streets, left, past two street, right split and you at the park.”

Krissy followed Cadence round the side of the house. Once she was outside she picked up the bike that Cadence had sat down. She climbedon. She hadn't been on a bike for a while, but it wasn't like she ahd forgotten how to ride one or anything. She rode over to Cadence. "Ain't no way I'm ever gunna remember that many ways." she said looknig at him. "You'll have to show me" She flicked her hair over her shoudler and grinned.
