"Thanks," Drew answered with a wide smile and feeling the heat climb up his neck. He always thought they were pretty good for each other as well, even if they did have their share of arguments. He supposed everyone had a fight or two and the important thing was knowing how to get through them.
"Sammy, yeah," Drew continued when Guy asked about the squirrel. "I still don't know how she managed to tame the little guy, but yeah, he's still around, probably making a mess in the common room."

Guy, having been single for quite some time now, was a bit envious of the former Ravenclaw's relationship. Going on two years was incredible for people so young. And it wasn't that Guy wanted Felicity in that way, she was a friend was all, - it was simply that Drew had found love and Guy was still on the outs. His smile remained in place and he felt a bit guilty for thinking what he was, but he couldn't much help it. " Yeah, for sure. D'you see much of her lately? " He wasn't sure how a relationship would work with one person out of school and the other still at the castle.
" First time I met the little bugger I was skateboarding... right fine fellow he is. " He grinned, remembering the scene.

"Naw, it's kind of hard with her there and me here," Drew answered. "I saw her off at the train and then I'm going to try and get up there when they get a Hogsmeade weekend, but other than that, there's really not a whole lot of opportunity, y'know?" He was still making plans to see her on Halloween, and of course they wrote each other at least once a day, but it just wasn't the same.
Drew laughed at Guy's recollection of Sammy. The Ravenclaw wasn't sure if the squirrel was the same one Felicity had tried to catch when she got stuck in the tree, but she was possitive, so he took her word for it. "He's a character all right," Drew answered. He still wasn't convinced the squirrel liked him much.

Guy nodded his head, not really being able to relate to the situation but knowing it would probably suck anyway. " Yeah, man. Well... look on the bright side. She's a seventh year, so that means next year you and her will be back together again. " It could have been worse, Felicity could be a sixth year and have to wait two years instead of one. It was a bummer, but he was pretty sure that the couple would get through it.
The former Gryffindor also remember knocking Felicity over on their first meeting, but he purposefully neglected to mention it to Drew, thinking that he wouldn't appreciate hearing about Guy causing his girl to fall over. " Hey man feel like stopping for some food at the pub? I'm starving. " He had just eaten an hour or so ago but hunger crept up easily on the young man.

Drewnodded back, but wasn't sure Felicity being a seventh year was all that bright of a side. Once she left Hogwarts, sure they'd technically be free to see each other when ever they wanted. The problem was, that if she got accepted into the research facility she was going for, she'd be in Kenya for at least two years while he was finishing up with the Academy in London. So much for being together again. Even with airplanes, the flight was more than just a couple of hours each way. He was already planning to dip big time into his trust fund to cover the costs.
"Hey, yeah. That sounds good," Drew answered. He was always up for grabbing a bite to eat.

So maybe Guy wasn't starving, but it had been a while since his last meal and eating was always good. The lanky young man could use some more food anyway... He wasn't too skinny, but he wouldn't mind gaining a bit more weight all the same.
" Cool. To the Leaky Cauldron, then... It's been a while since I've been there for anything to eat. Sometimes after work I stop in for a drink, but never food. " Guy started walking in the direction of the pub, still rambling on about nothing in particular. " Aren't you from California or something? My mom lives there... nice place. "

Drew was more than happy to head over to the cauldron. Guy may have eaten there in a while, but Drew had taken to hanging out at the pub, meeting up with friends, grabbing a quick bite by himself, or just toying with a butterbeer and thinking about the first time he met Felicity.
The Ravenclaw was always hungry and he eagerly made his way towards the pub with Guy. When Guy asked where he was from, Drew couldn't help but wonder how much of his American accent was still lingering around. Everyone in Britain claimed he talked funny, but so did everyone back home.
"Yeah, just outside of Los Angeles," Drew explained. Saying he lived in LA was easier than trying to explain exactly where Malibu Hills was. "Whereabouts does your mom live?"

Guy began running through a list of things that might sound good from the Leaky Cauldron. Burgers, fries, any kind of soup or stew, and... well anything else that had. He wasn't in a snacking mood, more of a ' eat a meal ' kind of mood. And maybe a bottle or two of butterbeer to top it off. It sounded pretty good to him, and he was cool with the company, too.
Guy still visited his mom and step dad in California every once in a while, but it was pretty expensive and not really worth the trip nowadays. He hadn't seen his west coast family in a while now. " Well she used to live in Bakersfield, but then she moved to Sacramento about two years ago. Her, my step dad, and my younger brother live there still. It's been a while since I've been there, though. " It was always interesting to hang out and hear of other people who came from the states and still had family there.
" I lived in Bakersfield for a while, though. " He shrugged his shoulders, stating the fact simply. Having gone to a primarily French school he had picked up a French way of speaking when he said certain words. His American accent still lingered occasionally but then again it all kind of mingled together every once in a while.

Drew already knew what he wanted: a good meat pie and a couple of butterbeers to wash it down. He was usually hungry so just ordering a snack wasn't much of an option. He'd start with the pie and then take it from there.
Drew nodded as Guy spoke of his family. Bakersfield, and even Sacramento, was a far cry from the hills overlooking the coast, having more cows than Starbucks, but Drew still felt the connection to his home state. Valley, Desert, or Coast, it was still the place he felt was home.
"So, how long were you there?" Drew asked, knowing that the communities Guy spoke of weren't the most luxurious, but were full of hard working, honest people. Anyone with an ounce of respect had to appreciate that.

Guy had always preferred the UK to California. Granted he had only lived there for the first six years of his life, so the memories weren't all there, but he still always thought of the UK as more of a home than the places he had lived in the states.
" Until I was about... six. My parents had me when they were pretty young, so it was never really a stable household. When I was six and a half or so my dad got an offer to work in an art gallery in London, and he took it, taking me and the rest of us kids along for the ride... " He shrugged his shoulders, thinking of that whole fiasco. It was mostly bad memories, but it did bring about good things as well.
" So why, if I might ask, did you end up going to school halfway across the world when you lived in California? "

Drew nodded as Guy spoke of his family though the Ravenclaw had been told a number of times that he didn't have a clue about less than stable homes. His folks were still together and he had enjoyed a pretty decent childhood. Even so, he thought he could somewhat understand if only through his thankfulness for his own situation.
"Well, Hogwarts is the best, isn't it?" he answered back with a shrug and a smile. Of course, there were some excellent schools in the States, but none as old and prestigious as Hogwarts. "My sister actually begged my folks to come to school here and because my grandmother went through Hogwarts, they decided to give it a try. I just got shipped along as well." He had hated it at the time, but eventually thought it was all for the best. He wouldn't have met Felicity otherwise.
"Did you have a choice? Here or the States?" Drew asked, figuring with a parent on each continent, he would have. On top of that, there were some other good schools in Europe and Drew knew that a few kids had been given options in the matter of their schooling.
