Layla winced with Drew as Ari touched the broken arm. She felt quite useless and an guilty just standing there. Layla cracked her knuckles, watching Ari look over him. She wasn't sure what to do and didn't know if Ari knew either. All she knew was that Drew's arm was at a funky angle and he looked like he was in pain.
"I'll get it for you," she blurted out, wanting to be helpful. "Where is it?"

"You can't," Drew answered, sounding a little more pathetic than he cared to. It had become second nature to turn the booby traps off when he entered the Boys dorm, and then on again back when he left. The whole room was rigged to blow if anything bigger than a house elf entered. If Layla went up there, she'd be covered head to toe in blue paint and silly string before she got two paces beyond the doorway.

"Why not?" She wondered if they could get something else to numb the pain, or if Ari could cast something. "Maybe I can get some water and freeze it?" She was starting to get a bit nervous and wringing her hands together. Her next suggestion was going to be that they find Allegra or Kellen, but she was hoping that they'd suggest it first.

"We can't get up there because of the traps," Arianna answered. She bother to explain why the traps were there, being too preoccupied with trying to figure out what to do.
"Okay, Layla," she turned to the younger girl, "I need you to get me some towels. Two of them should be fine. One of them needs to be soaked and the other one dry. I think I can work with them for now."

Layla had been backing up slowly once Ari had already been giving her directions and quickly turned when she was done and sprinted towards the Girls' Bathroom without a word. She went to a small storage closet at the very end and took out two of the baby blue towels the elves always had stocked. She used quickly walked out of the bathroom and headed back to the common room, using one of her handy spells she'd used against Cris in the courtyard to drench one of them. By the time she got back, she had what Ari had asked for.
She held up both towels, displaying them to Ari. "Is this ok?"

"Is this going to fix it?" Drew asked, not sure a couple of wet towels would do the trick. He trusted Ari of course, but he also had a lot of experience with broken body parts. This just didn't sound right to him.

"No," Arianna replied honestly. She wished she could fix it for him, but with her inexperience, the girl didn't dare touch Drew's injury anymore than she had to. "But we do need to keep the swelling down and if we give it a little support it won't hurt so bad."
As she spoke, Arianna lay the towels on the floor. The wet one she placed a freezing charm on before wrapping it inside the dry towel. She now had a nifty make-shift ice pack.
"Can you lift your arm for me?" the girl asked, turning back to Drew.

"You want me to lift it?" Drew asked as if she had asked him to hoist up an elephant. His arm hurt enough just letting it lie there. He wasn't sure he wanted to move it any at this point.

"Maybe not," Arianna frowned. She didn't want to hurt Drew, but it really sucked when someone trusted you with something like this and you didn't have the proper knowledge to take care of it.
"Then we'll just do this..." Arianna carefully lay the towels across Drew's arm. "We're going to have to get you to someone who can fix this, though."

Drew whined slightly in response, showing his displeasure of that idea. Kellen, of course, would be the least likely of options to get him in trouble, but also the least likely to be able to do anything. Raynor would be most likely to dole out some sort of punishment and while Mrs. Johnson wouldn't bust him per say, going through her would enevitably mean that Raynor would find out.
Not good...

Layla closed her eyes and shook her head. They were probably gonna get in trouble now. But it was better than someone unqualified trying to fix Drew's arm. She stepped closer and kneeled next to Ari. "Should we just take him straight to the Hospital Wing?"

Arianna turned to Drew with a questioning look. She knew it would be best if they took him down there, but there was no way she could force him to go. Even with Layla's help, that would be a lot of body to pack down six flights of stairs.
"I don't know of anyone else who could fix it properly," she answered. Well, she did know one person, but didn't know if that person would be so eager to see the three of them marching into her office to show off a broken arm.

"Yeah..." Drew answered, the defeat evident in his voice. Sure, the quality of service had improved in the Hospital Wing since his first year, but that didnt' mean he liked going there any better.

Layla looked at Drew's arm and fel that feeling in her tummy when she wished they could turn everything back and just opted to thowing the magical deck of cards at each other. She couldn't even remember when the padding had been considered a great idea. Now she just felt really childish. Either way, Drew was injured and in pain and she and Ari were going to help him. She felt only better when she decided that right now that's the only thing she should be worried about.
She leaned in a bit closer. "Drew, do you think you can get up?"

"Yeah... if you guys help me," he said, sounding more pathetic than he really wanted to. With the football stuff still on though, he was a bit top heavy and with a busted arm, he didn't think he'd be able to get the proper leverage to get up on his own.
