Still holding back her chuckles, Arianna stepped into the common room and took one look around. She had something she needed to get out and the only person who could answer that question wasn't in the room. Ah, well, there was one way to get him in there. If he was in Ravenclaw at all, that is. "Andrew Thornton!" Arianna hollared out, giving a small smile to those she had disrupted. She swaggered over to the foot of the stairs leading to the boy's dorms and yelled once more. "Andrew Thornton, if you're up there, you better get down here you silly monkey of an uncle's brother!" ((Totally open ))

Layla jumped a little as she stepped through the entrance and was greeted by Ari yelling out Drew's name. She looked around and saw that no one else was in there, but Drew's presence was demanded at the moment.
"Is that one of those things that you say his whole name because he's in trouble?"

Arianna turned to Layla, a wide grin on her lips. She lifted a finger to her mouth in a motion asking that the girl be as quiet as possible then turned back towards the stairs.
"Nah," she replied just loud enough for Layla to hear. "I say his whole name to get his butt down here as quick as possible."

Ari's grin was contagious. Drew being in trouble would have been entertaining, but this seemed to have potential as well. She was being shushed and being whispered to. Oh, this might be getting really good.
She lowered her voice before grabbing a lone sofa chair and turning it for an optimal view. "I'm guessing it's important?"

The clomping of Drew's feet could be heard running down the stairs and moments later the fifth year appeared, leaning on the cross beam over the stairway. "I'm a what?" he asked, wrinkling his nose at the odd name.

Arianna was about to answer Layla that her news was more entertaining than interesting, but was distracted by the very thing she was hoping to hear; large feet clambering down the stairs.
"A silly brother of a monkey's...." Arianna shook her head, knowing she'd completely messed it up. "I dunno. Something like that. I heard something today and I want to know if it's true."

Drew was still confused by the odd name but decended the final steps into the common room. What had even made her think of calling him that was a total guess on his part. "What? That I'm a silly brother of a monkey's uncle?"

Layla raised an eyebrow in interest. Something she heard, huh? She sat back and watched them as they determined who was Drew's uncle and hoped that the news was important enough for them to forget that she was in the room.

"Something like that," Arianna replied, shrugging. Now that she had Drew down here, she relaxed and wandered over to the couch, picking up a magazine as she went. "You know these first years. Can't keep their rumours straight. I caught a couple of them fighting over whether Drew Thornton was a great magical leapord or a uncle-eating monkey. Or....something like that. Tell me it's not true?"
With her last question, she lifted her head to the boy with what started as a pleading look, then fell away to a quiet chuckle. It was clear the girl was having a hard time trying not to break into gales of laughter.

The odd looks towards Ari continued as he tried to figure out what she was even talking about. "What? Did you like, OD on Fizzing Wizzbees or something?" he asked. He looked over at Layla, wondering if she knew what Ari was talking about.

Michelle walked into the common room. It was nice to relax after a long day of classes. She noticed there were several older Ravens there and she decided to join their conversation. Slowly she walked over and took a seat on a nearby couch.
You know these first years. Can't keep their rumours straight. I caught a couple of them fighting over whether Drew Thornton was a great magical leapord or a uncle-eating monkey.
Michelle smiled. She had heard the same rumor...different version but nearly the same.
What? Did you like, OD on Fizzing Wizzbees or something?
Taking in a deep breath she decided now was her chance to 'butt in'. "No, she's right. I heard that you were human by day but some type of purple flying hippo by night that played pranks on all of us umm... 'firsties'."
She laughed, not really to be able to hold it in. The idea was so rediculous. She couldn't believe that some had actually believed it.

"Well, yeah..." Drew answered the Little Bird seriously. "That one I can see. Maybe not the purple part, but the rest of it, sure. But the others..." He turned back to Ari and frowned. "Come on. Those are just plain silly."

Michelle furrowed her brows, "So, does that mean you really are a flying hippo?"
She knew it had to be a rediculous notion, but with the way he had answered....
I've heard of an animagus before...but a hippo? And a flying one at that! Why on earth would someone pick something like that?

"Only at night..." Drew told her as if this were a common occurence. His serious face suddenly melted into a wide smile. "Okay, okay. You got me. I'm just messing with you. It's not every night..."

Michelle blushed and giggled. "Oh...okay. Not every night then. At least I got my facts straight."
She couldn't believe she fell for that one. How pathetic was she?
