"I've yet to see any semblance of sanity in anoyone at this school, so I don't think you need to worry about going crazy, dude," Charon pitched in. "And I was too bloody lazy-slash-tired to try to crawl up to my dorm."
He was a little confused. He thought he had heard what Raynor had called the other boy, but what kind of nickname is that for a teacher to use on a student? "Did she just call you 'Mr. T'?" he asked the boy.

"I pity da foo who tries ta nap in da common room," Drew answered, pointing a forceful finger at the other boy. He'd also pity the fool who tried to use that name on him again. He still wasn't sure why Raynor had chosen to use it.

"Yeah, yeah, pity me all you want. I pity da foo who wakes me up," Charon replied, perfectly seriously. He knew it sounded like a challenge, but he didn't care. In a way, he almost welcomed it. At least it would teach these people to let a sleeping person lie.
"And I can see why she called you that. The resemblance is striking. Are you Mr. T's brother?" he said, sarcastically.

"Don't you see it in his height? Or maybe those whiskers he's getting right there." "Tamis" said, grinning as she kept on with open the qudditch magazine. Seeing a nice aerial shot of a Bats player, she sighed. Who knows how long she hadn't touched her broom. She hadn't practiced that day before the switch, and it was only making her stir-crazy. When people have journals, punching bags, and bubble wrap, she had flying as her stress easer.

Drew's hand flew to his jaw, even though he knew she must be kidding. He checked his face religiously every morning for any sign of growth and every morning it remained as hairless as it had been for the last 15 years. He'd never grow his mustache at this rate.

Charon chuckled as he saw the boy's hand check his face. "Sorry, mate, nothing there yet. Though if you want, I might be able to oreder you some of that Rogaine stuff muggles use. You could always try putting it on your jaw," he said.
Though he had never really met Raynor, he wasn't quite sure this was how a professor would normally act. He had rather expected a professor to be someone who conducted him- or herself with dignity at all times, and had impeccable manners, etc. In other words, the perfect thing to hate and try to prank. However, Raynor wasn't anything like that. She was actually almost...cool.

"Ha! Good one," "Raynor" said, and shrugged at Drew. Being a professor meant being taken seriously a lot of the time, she guessed. Which was pretty radical if she could get away with it, too.

"Yeah, I may try that one of these days," Drew answered seriously, giving the ear closest to Charon a good scratch with his middle finger. "So what can we do for you Professor?" he asked the woman, hoping she'd leave his quidditch magazines alone at the very least.

"Dunno," she shrugged, not understanding why she was there as well. There was no other place she could go, really, and it frustrated her. She never had such an intense urge to shout her secret out. Just to be safe, she didn't reveal it to anyone. As Tamis said... they would ship her off to Mungo's if she did spill.
"I can't hang out here with you dud-- students, I mean? Isn't it a free country?" She said as a better counter. She had to defend her right from exploding, especially with a baby on the way.

"Okay..." Drew answered with a small shrug. It wasn't as if raynor never came into the common room. In fact, he actually enjoyed her visits when she wasn't there to bust him.
But this was different. She hadn't come with work or an announcement of any sort. She just sat there. It was kind of unnerving really.
Trying to move past it, he sat in an unoccupied chair, reaching into the end table and pulling out a couple of apples. One he took a bite out of and the other he held out to Raynor. "Want one?" he asked.

Charon saw the apple in the boy's hand and realized that he really hadn't had anything to eat in a while. "I'll take one of those, if she won't," he called.
Turning towards Raynor, he said, "Yeah, it's a free country. For now. Give me twenty years and it might not be so anymore."
He turned back towards the boy to see if an apple was coming his way.

"Raynor" shook her head and scrunched her nose. "No, thanks... Granny Smith's more my thing." Still, she looked from the apple to Charon, inviting him to try to get the apple. Slouching back on the chair, she made the types of grunts adults mostly made. "This chair's nice..."

Drew shrugged off Raynor's decline and tossed the apple to Charon before taking another large chunk out of his own. "I like the one you have in the office," he answered. It was true. he had fallen asleep in that chair waiting for her a few times.

Charon caught the apple thrown to him and took a bite. it was nice and juicy, and had just the right blend of sweet and tart.
"Is it better than the ones in here?" he asked about the chair the boy mentioned. Sleep was not exactly forgotten, but placed aside for the time being. If he didn't nap at all, maybe he'd sleep better that night.

"Yeah... Only problem is it's in her office," Drew answered with a wide grin and a nod over to where Raynor sat. "Unless she ever decides to give it over to us..." he eyed the professor with a hopeful smile on his face.
