"Sounds great for death eaters, but not so hot for the test subjects," Drew pointed out. The whole point of the excuse game was to try and find a good reason for giving the 'treats' to other students. They couldn't really have the candies attacking and blowing up firsties.
That might get messy...

"Test subjects?" Hiro was too caught up in his own idea to remember the whole reason they were talking about this stuff anyway. "Oh right."

"Aw...." Charlie was stuck in her own cloud that she forgot that these were for the young and impressionable, not the experienced and dangerous. "But if we lower the intensity or something... C'mon, they can't be that weak," she coughed up a laugh with the last comment.

"Well we don't have to dumb them down too much." Hiro commented. "I mean those ones that blew up in our mouths didn't take our heads or anything. Just enough to beat them off until we can get a strike in." It seemed as though the excuses were less important than fighting dark wizards.

"But then this all begs the question as to how we're supposed to make a death eater take a snack-break in the middle of a duel," Drew pointed out. "I mean, you can't really tell them Pardon me, but yopu know, it IS tea time and I'm ready for a snack. Care to join me? ... That would be like stopping a quidditch game for a cookie and lemonade break."

"I'm thinking more of a last resort offense." Hiro wanted to clarify. "If you are caught without your wand you can hurl a few these attacking candies at your enemy to distract and confuse."

"Chuck a Canary Creme at them and run during the confussion..." Drew said with a small chuckle. "It doesn't have a lot of class, but still, I like it."

"Against dark wizards I'm sure you'd still be worried about class." Hiro said sarcasticly. "Life and death situations and Drew still worries about what people will think of his overall smoothness."

"Hey! I have a reputation to keep up!" Drew answered back, grinning at the two of them. "The chuck and run method seems more suitable for Monty Python than it does 007, Robin Hood, or Mad Eye Moody."

"You're the one who suggested running away." Hiro pointed out with a smile. "I said you could use it as a distraction. I'm sure that in life and death situations Robin Hood probably threw some dirt in the eyes of his enemies to give him time to come up with a plan or re-arm himself."

"Yeah," Charlie was on Hiro's side. But she kept it neutral because she was never great with debates. "You see, you chuck it quick and long, and they won't notice. I don't think that we're waiting for them to eat it, just throw it on them."

"So if we're not trying to get them to eat it and we aren't running away, exactly what is this distraction for?" Drew asked. "I mean, wouldn't it be more cost effective to try the old 'Hey buddy, your shoe is untied' gambit?"

"No like..." Hiro tried to think of a good analogy. "Flares! Like dark powder but only affecting the target."

"Ah!" Charlie snapped her fingers and pointed at Hiro. "Good one, Hiro! You've got a good head on ya," she nodded and smiled before looking back at Drew. "Merlin, Drew. So resistant to our ingenius plan. Besides, who falls for the untied shoes bit?"

"I'm just being the devil's advocate here," Drew answered, putting his hands up in innocence. "Besides, what good is a plan unless you think of all of the things that could go wrong? You plan ahead so you don't have to worry about them anymore, right?"
