"Oh," Arianna frowned slightly. Sitting back up, she pulled the kitten into her arms again. "What if she'd used a spell to make the shrink slowly? Or killed them off?"
Rolling her eyes slightly, Arianna set Juniper back on the floor. He was being really squirmy today and didn't want to stay in one place for too long. Of course, she didn't blame him. Whenever she'd been sick or too down to do much, Arianna always felt she had to make up for lost time when she was well again. Perhaps Juniper was doing the same.

"I don't know," Drew answered with a shrug. It had been a while ago and he just remembered the plants had caused a huge debate in the Thornton house. His mom had finally demanded they hire a Muggle gardener to pull the dang things out.
And why they were discussing shrubbery was beyond him.
With the cat safe from his toes, he decided this was his chance to leave. "Well... I'll see you around," he told her with a small smile. "Have fun with the kitten."

"Okay," Arianna tried to sound as cheerful as possible, though she didn't want Drew to leave. He'd said everything was fine, though and she didn't want to bug him any further. Of course, the last time he had said things were fine, they would up not being fine. At least he wasn't snapping at her for silly things. Maybe that's why she felt it was okay to let him go.
"You sure you don't want your apple?" she asked before he could get far.

"Yeah, I'm good," Drew answered, trying his best to assure her. He knew something was bugging her and even had a pretty good idea as to what it was, but didn't say anything. he had decided to stop his worrying over these girls and he was determined to stick with it.

"Alright," Arianna shrugged as though it was no big deal. She wouldn't look at him, though. It would be useless for him to see how worried she really had been and still was so she kept her head down, pretending to find interest in the ribbon she'd pulled from her pocket and now held out for Juniper to play with. "I'll see you at dinner, then."

"Maybe..." Drew answeredback with another shrug, not wanting to make any sort of commitment. Of course, chances were that he would show up for dinner... he just didn't want her counting on it.

Arianna raised an eyebrow, but said nothing further. It was more than likely she would see him, but to hear a maybe from him was...unsettling, to say the least. There were many many things going through Arianna's mind at the moment and she couldn't figure out any of it. All she knew was that Lily had said or done something very serious this morning. Something that Arianna was sure had changed things drastically and she had been pulled into it by the mere fact that she had tried to help. At least, that was all she could figure.

"So I'll see you around," Drew said again, staying just as casual about it as he had before. "And tell Juniper to be good for you, okay?" He offered her a smile before heading back out the door.

"Whatever," Arianna muttered under her breath. She let out a sigh, trying hard not to let it bother her that Drew seemed to be so...distant with her. Fortunately, she had Juniper around to keep her distracted. The little ball of fur was just what she needed today and she was soon laughing at his antics, finding it easy to forget Drew and everything that had happened today. For a little while at least.

Drew paused for just a moment as he heard her mutterings. With a sigh, he started up again, leaving the room. Despite his best efforts, she had still gotten to him. He'd have to try harder next time. It was for the best.
