His two laps completed, Drew landed again at the opposite end of the pitch from the Ministry woman. His head was feeling a little clearer and maybe he could talk to Lily without getting so mad. Now if only she would cooperate.

Lily was getting out of the air now. She flew back down to where Drew had been. This didn't really help though, as once the dam had been broken, it seemed unable to stop, no matter how much Lily willed it too. She got off her broom and placed it on the ground, leaning on her knees for support. She felt numb all over, shaky and chilled.
"Promise," Lily repeated quietly. Here was Cleo's word, something she could trust. And the voices they were going to stop and leave her alone, forever. She wiped the tears out of her eyes and gave a small smile.
Cleo kissed the younger girl's forehead, "I cannot promise it will be easy, but we will beat this, sweetie. Absolutely."
“Well then,” Kurt answered. “We had better show her how it’s done.” He moved in closer. “What do you say to that, Lily?”
"I'm NOT lying! And I WON'T just give it up!" Drew shouted back, looking up at her. "I'm trying to help you, but I can't if you don't let me!"
Lily looked up at Drew, hearing him. "You're not the one lying," she told him quietly, tears threatening in her eyes. "I'm sorry, Drew. I'm so sorry for everything." She tried to hold back the tears, but she knew that wasn't a battle she could fight for long.
"It was awful, so awful," Lily repeated. "Don't make me go back, don't make me go back."
"I'm not letting you go back," Drew told her. "But... you have to promise not to run away again."
Lily looked up at Drew this time. "I promise," she said. "I don't want to ever go through that again. It was like it was hell, or worse than hell. I couldn't take it again."
"She's a muggle," Lily said quietly. "When I asked her to come, she said she refused to go to a hospital for freaks."
"Ah," Cleo nodded. "What is her illness?"
"I don't know," Lily said. "She won't tell me, which means its particularly bad, because she's a doctor, so she knows medical stuff. She would have told me if she thought there was any chance at all."
Lily wanted to scream. Just make it all stop. Please. What were these things? They're my . . . they're my . . . my . . . memories.

Drew frowned as Lily touched down next to him. Yes, he had calmed down, but he was still mad at her. He was about to tell her so when he got a good look at her face. He wasn't sure, but he couldn't ever remember seeing her so pale.
"Are you okay?" he asked tentatively. Something was wrong. He realized that now.

Lily shook her head no weakly and sat down on the ground. "So many memories," she muttered weakly. "So overwhelming." They were flooding back to her at an incredible rate. "Well, you're the only insomniac I know.... I think. " He muttered to her.
"Exactly," Lily said. Her hand was gripped on her wand as she spun around. "I may be little and I may be a girl, but I've since learned how to fight back at least somewhat. So I'm warning you, don't mess with me. You may end up sorry you did so later."

"Are you playing the Amnesia game again?" Drew asked, but his tone was more worrisome than angry. The look on her face told him this was no game. He was pretty sure you couldn't fake that.

"It . . . was never . . . a game . . ." Lily had to strain herself to say that. She was mad, but her energies was focused elsewhere, despite her counter attempts to focus it away from the memories.
Lily nodded and turned around to get her trunk. "Well if that's all . . ." She had an idea in her head. She walked slowly over to him, and standing on her tip-toes, she kissed him.
"Are we what?" Lily asked quietly, still looking at the flower. "Are we still together? Yes, yes I think we are. At least for now I'm following my heart, even though my head is giving me an awfully hard time about it."
"So now I'm not just a stupid, goof-off, trouble-maker? I'm a conceited stupid, goof-off, trouble-maker? Great, thanks Lily! Sure am glad we're friends!" he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Is that right? I see Nico has already rubbed off on you. That did sound like incorect grammar Miss Tasando. Ha! I can see through you. You've always been clingy. I bet your so called friends were glad you were gone."
"Well then I suppose I used it right," Lily said with a happy smile. She went up on tip toes and kissed his other cheek. "There," she said. "Now your other cheek doesn't have to feel jealous. I would never want that." She laughed.
((These just keep getting longer - you don't have to read all her memories if you don't want to))

"Maybe... maybe we should get you to the nurse..." Drew told her. She wasn't looking too well and while he had never been a big fan of the Hospital wing, he sure as heck didn't know what to do.

"I'm fine," Lily said. "Just give me a moment." The memories had stopped coming back so fast, as they were almost all there. She closed her eyes. This was definately the most bizarre situtation she had ever experienced. She waited a few more moments before she opened her eyes again. "It stopped," she whispered quietly, more to herself than to Drew. She needed to write this down. Crap, I destroyed my journals. She remembered that now. She stood up, a little too eagerly after all the bombardment on her brain and she was shaky on her feet. A little color had come back, but not too much.

Drew looked at her nervously, wondering if those awful voices had started coming back to her. They made him mad because he felt she wasn't fighting them hard enough, but they also scared him.

"I'm fine," Lily said. "Really I am. It's just a bit overwhelming to have nearly 16 years of memories coming back to you all at once." She blinked. She was still a bit shaky. She felt like a calf on new legs. "I don't think I should be doing anymore flying today though. Whatever happened up there," she gestured to the sky. "Must have caused something to go on in here." She tapped her brain. "I know you didn't believe me, but what I'm telling you is the truth."

"You keep saying that like I'm suddenly supposed to turn into a sucker or something," Drew told her, though the words didnt'have the bite they might have had just a few minutes ago. He gave her a wide-eyed look. "Oh sure Lily... I believe you."

Lily laughed, color slowly returning to her face. "I know I'm not exactly the most believable person, but come on, you could cut a girl some slack, Vito," she teased. "We had some really good times," she said with a smile. "It's easy to forget those sometimes. Do you remember the jello story?" That had been a bizarre occasion. She doubted she could retell the story without modifications, but she remembered telling it to him. He was pretending to be a kindergartener.

Drew shook his head, not sure exactly what she was talking about. He vaguely remembered having some sort of conversation about Jello with her, but couldn't remeber what it had been about or why they had had it.
"Maybe I have amnesia too," he asid seriously.

"I doubt it Drew," Lily said. "It's not catching and you're not the type to perform crazy memory spells on yourself. I guess this goes to Lily's bad decision book that has to be like 500 pages long by now. At least though, something must of went wrong, thankfully. I'm not sure if I could have lived with myself like that forever. There were a lot of questions I had that no one could answer. Well you probably could have, but you wouldn't have."

"You're confusing me," Drew told her as he shook his head, but this was nothing new. There were times when Lily would say so much he had no clue what she was talking about. This time he was trying to wrap his mind around one question. Was she or wasn't she still playing the game?
