Derrick stared at his wand and couldn't help but feel a little bit warm inside thinking of what it would be doing then. It excited him simply because this would be the first time this school year that he was going to be able to use it for something new. Something that he didn't know or done before and for that he just couldn't wait. Turning his attention to the desk he removed his book and everything else he needed from the bag and placed it neatly in front of him. Just as he was about to go leafing through his book he heard the Professor speak to him and looked up. The question she asked was an easy one of course he knew his own name so it was hard not to answer as quickly as he did in his soft voice.
"Derrick Breckenridge mam."
Looking back down at his book he began to look over everything he had already read. It was all review but could that hurt at all after all you could never know too much. Well that's what Derrick hoped. Sighing to himself he waited for the professor to say something else or start the class. Either one would be greatly appreciated for him the sooner he got to use his wand the better.

Shuffling into the classroom, Dustan glanced around, only to be disappointed. Why did it look like he was the oldest student in the class? Where was everyone he was used to seeing? None of the faces were in the slightest familiar, and they were all really young looking. Not that he looked that old himself, but he knew he was older. Even being slightly short for his age, absolutely no growth of hair on his chin, he looked a bit older, though the baby fat on his face still stayed put no matter how many face exercises he tried.
Sliding into a seat not far from the small group of students, he "humphed" as the boy wondered where his beloved friends were. Probably smarter than he was by skipping out once they saw they were the only older students. Or what if by luck he wasn't even there at the right time, there'd been a mistake made on his schedule? No, his luck wasn't that good...
At least one good thing came of the class, his Head of House was teaching it.

Jeremy wasn't sure about this game that the professor was suggesting. Not only was he an avoider of most games, but he wasn't sure what it had to do with waving wands and saying spells. In the end, he supposed it didn't matter much since she seemed to be giving the game only to the Slytherin girls. Jeremy couldn't help but wonder if he had made the right decision turning the game playing down, but then again, she had offered him a totally different, and much harder sounding, game. He figured that whatever the professor had in store, he'd just have to deal with it.
A few more kids came in, one Jeremy recognized and another, bigger kid, he didn't. The young Ravenclaw slunk lower into his seat, hoping the big guy wasn't one of those kids who liked to pound on smaller ones.
