Devin Brady sat in the chair of a desk in the back of a beautiful classroom. It was set with interesting objects of various magical genres, interesting art pieces, and dark arts detectors. On a small chalkboard in the front a piece of chalk floated on its own, causing the word... Welcome ... to appear. In front of the chalkboard was a long table filled with large round buttons, all of various colors. This was for the lesson of the day. The lesson was that all the students would change buttons into beetles, when they all arrived that was. Until then Brady sat neatly dressed with a light blue dress shirt sleeves rolled up, navy sweater vest, brown slacks, and a dark gold tie. Patiently he waited his quill scratching quietly across parchment, as he planned his other lessons. It was worse than paperwork after an incident with the Ministry. Exhausting in the least. |

The girl walked alone towards the Transfigurations classroom. It had taken a while to stop looking at the things in the castle in an odd way. She had to stop looking at the other students like they had something up their sleeves. It had all been very strange and frightening, those days following her return to Hogwarts after winter break. It had been a relief after she had managed to escape with Shari and Scorpius too. Now going to class things finally felt....normal. As normal as things could possibly get anyway. Reaching the door Fyona put her hand on the knob, turned it, and walked quietly -almost hesitantly- into the room. She gasped. The room was not the same boring Transfiguration room that she was used to. Instead there was an array of strange magical objects all around her. Fyona had to stop herself front touching all of them, and looked towards the front of the room where her professor sat waiting for the others.
Glancing at the chalk board, and then at the buttons on the table Fyona took her seat in the middle of the room. The new professor was the new guy who was at the feast, and she was quite interested in knowing what he was all about. "Hello professor," she said trying to be as cheerful as she possibly could.

Well this sucked big time. Not only was he one of the first students in the room, but it was clear they were combining class with the stupid second years. His own stupid class hated him so it was certain that the addition of more kids would make things worse.
To top things off, the girl in the room was a Slytherin, the same stupid house as Mean Girl. Maybe if he snuck in adn took a seat while she was talking to the professor, they'd both leave him alone.

This was a class Brenton was afraid of. He'd been bragging about what a big shot he was with a wand, and really, he could hardly make a pillow wobble with a wand. He wasn't going to let anyone else know that though, even if it meant telling a bigger lie than ever. Well, he wasn't actually lying, Brent always told the truth, just not as some people would see it. It wasn't hard hiding in classes before, all he had to do was sit in the back and pretend he was working really hard, but now, when there were more students, would it be harder to hide or easier?
Brenton certainly hoped for the former. Once again, he followed the kid with big ears to the class. How he kept managing to get stuck behind him, he didn't know, and didn't really care either. The kid had big ears, he saw they didn't match his face. But he still didn't know if he was royalty or from loserdom, and he had to figure that out. What if he was a great prince from another land and Brent just wrote him off? Mrs. Fortune wouldn't ever fogive him for that.
But, seeing someone from his house, recognizing her robes and not really the face, he elbowed the boy a little to get out his way. She looked like a lady, not a commoner.
"'Ello," he gave both her and the professor the greeting, ignoring what happened to the big-eared boy.

As New boy elbowed past him, Jeremy fell on his backside. If he had been uncertain before, he was very sure now. New Boy was the mean sort, more interested in shoving and hurting than anything else.
But as New Boy took a seat near the older girl, he was a little intrigued. A Mean-Kissy Boy. he didn't realize that type even exsisted.
Doing his best to avoid being hit again Jeremy scrambled to his feet and slunk to a seat in the back, away from New Boy and Older Girl. So much for getting to class unnoticed.

Elizabeth was just in time to see Jeremy get knocked over by the Slytherin. She wasn't so sure why it upset her. Maybe because it was her job to do the pushing. It was rude of Brenton to think he could take over. So, of course, as the girl walked past the Slytherin, she aimed a good kick at his shin and lazily made her way to the back of the room. As she sat, she offered a very small smile in Jeremy's direction.
"That felt rather good," she commented, leaning back in her chair. It had been a long while since the girl had been able to kick anyone. What with her siblings hundreds of miles away, the girl found herself longing to stretch her punching muscles. That little Slytherin looked like he might be the perfect punching bag, too.

A yelp or surprise and pain came from Brenton as well as tears springing to the boy's eyes as he felt the swift foot meet his shin. That wasn't nice at all and only further proved to him she was nothing worth talking to. A commoner and nothing special. Leaning over in his chair, Brent vigorously rubbed at the spot that was sure to bruise and stay that way for a few days. He didn't know what he did to deserve it, but she'd have what was coming to her soon, he was sure.
Of course, he wasn't a tattle and wouldn't say anything. He would just be sure not to mix with such common blood is all, he needed to stick with royalty, that was that.

Fat Girl was glaring at him and Jeremy wasn't sure why. She was probably plotting something terrible to do to him. After all, she had just kicked New Boy for no reason what so ever. If she could do that, Merlin only knew what she would have in store for he who had been in classes with her for a whole semester now.
Jeremy kept his head low, but made sure he could still see Fat Girl. If she made any sudden moves for his lower half, he'd kick her back and good.

It wasn't every class that Hannah had decided not sit next to Jeremy in. Only some, she couldn't get into trouble in every class, right? This class was going to be an exception. Avoiding the people in the front, for some reason she just didn't feel like introducing herself to new people when one, the girl and the boy there looked like a Slytherin and she didn't much care for Slytherins. Hannah didn't trust them at all.
Walking her way to the back, Hannah noticed that Hufflepuff girl there and she didn't much care to say hello to her, either, she looked like trouble and Hannah was trying to avoid trouble. Plus, it was better to stick with people you knew. Though, it was better for Hannah to stick by herself, but she didn't want to make Jeremy feel like she was avoiding him in every class they had together.
Plopping herself down next to Jeremy, she poked Jeremy in the side playfully and offered him a smile.

"Stop it, Hannah," Jeremy complained out of habit before remembering that his New Year's resolution was to stop saying that to her. Not that he cared to be poked on a regular basis, but for some reason he really didn't mind it so much when it was Hannah doing the poking.
He smiled back at her which looked more like a sickly smirk, but it was the best he could do at the moment. He wasn't particularly looking forward to this class.

Elizabeth shook her head. She gives a smile to someone, and what do they do? They try to hide, that's what. Elizabeth wasn't sure if she should find it funny, or be concerned. Though she did pick on Jeremy a bit, it never was as much as he deserved. It certainly wasn't as bad as what she did to some of the other students. But today she had done the complete opposite and tried to offer a cheerful greeting (something that was very difficult since her smile muscles hardly ever got a work out) and all she gets in return is a funny look. Maybe she had something on her face?
Wondering what in the world Jeremy's problem could be, Elizabeth hardly noticed Hannah entering. Once the girl sat down, though, Elizabeth gave the girl a cold glare. If she was in here, that meant Jeremy would be paying attention to her and any attempt to get the boy's attention would be fruitless. Though, maybe he didn't really LIKE to have anyone try and get his attention.

There it was. One of the reason why she decided she shouldn't be sitting next to Jeremy this term in classes. "What I'd do this time?" Hannah asked to Jeremy, just feeling slightly miffed that he had to say it. It was annoying, but at the same time, it was normal, but it wasn't like she had done anything. Just poked him.
Hannah should've sat by herself. The girl knew it was better if she just sat somewhere by herself where she couldn't cause any trouble. Even better would be if she'd just skipped this class all together and go learn it in the library or something. Hmm, skipping class. Maybe the next class she had, she would skip that one. That way, she could keep herself out of trouble.

"You poked me!" Jeremy answered, not sure how she had already forgotten that her finger and jabbed his midsection. No, he hadn't really minded it all that much, but since she asked what she had done, he felt he should answer her.
Fat Girl was still watching him and Jeremy glared back at her, sinking down lower into his seat. If he could help it at all, he'd be leaving class and going to the next by a ssecret route that she didn't know. Problem was, he didn't know many secret routes.

What'd I do this time?.....You poked me! Elizabeth imagined herself mocking the two in babyish voices, but couldn't seem to get her voice together to actually do it. Those two together really could be annoying. Especially Hannah. Elizabeth really wanted to give her a swift kick to the behind.
"Note to self: Don't poke Taylor," Elizabeth muttered, a bit louder than she intended. Mental note really weren't meant to be spoken in any sort of voice. Especially not one loud enough for her nearest neighbors to hear.

Arty was gonna be late, or so he thought as he sprinted down the halls grateful for his quidditch conditioning that allowed him to run for long distances even jump over the rails of the stairs to cut precious seconds. The sad part was the clock was wrong, he was going to be on time if just a hair early, that was the price of looking a the clock in the Slytherin rooms, Peeves had this nasty habit of messing with them. He bolted through the door into the room his breathing a bit rapid and his heart pounding hoping Brady would forgive him for his lateness. “Sorry Professor, I lost track of time.” He muttered between breaths as he found Fyona and took a seat near her. If only the professor would have mercy on him.
