‘ Connor...where's Celina? ‘
The Slytherin stopped in his tracks as Felicity asked him this. He turned around, almost expecting Celina to have followed him from the first floor to the seventh. He knew she wouldn’t have followed him, though. She was Celina Jedynak, she had gotten upset by sleeping in and accidentally missing a class last year, there was no way that she was going to skip out on class – even if all of her friends left. But Connor still held a small glimmer of hope that she had followed him.
“ I… she…? “ He trialed off, not wanting to turn back around and look the Gryffindor in the face now but doing so all the same. It would be his fault if something happened to Celina. It was his fault for leaving, he should have stayed. He wanted to turn right around and go down the six floors to the History of Magic classroom. He wanted to get Celina out of there, but what he wanted to do and what he really did were two different things entirely. He stood, rooted to the spot, knowing that even if he tried to talk to Celina now wasn’t the time. She was still in a class and she wouldn’t leave it just to talk to him. It would just be useless, and him walking down to the classroom wouldn’t do any good, in fact it would probably get him and Celina into trouble, more trouble for him than he was willing to get into at that point.
He cleared his throat slightly before answering, “ She’s still back there. “
What a way to be welcomed into a new group of friends, leaving someone behind alone to face a deranged History of Magic teacher.

" – we should just teach the lesson because it was obvious..." Felicity trailed off.
"Said he'd do it for us if we didn't do it ourselves... but it sounded more like a threat than an offer," Drew continued.
David’s head turned quickly from Professor Tapia to the two students before him. He was honored, in a way, that Drew and his friends had come to him with a problem; he wanted more than anything else to be the kind of teacher his mentor, Ulrich, had been to him. The two were obviously upset, and he knew that they were taking a big chance in confiding in an adult at all – who would want to believe scorned students over a professor? David didn’t get the feeling that they were merely trying to get revenge on Professor Griffiths, though, he got the feeling that they just wanted to be believed, and to be told that what the professor had done would not go by without notice.
“That changes the matter completely,” he said seriously. As much as he liked Alex, and as much as it might damage their new friendship, he couldn’t allow a teacher to threaten a student. He noticed then that Professor Tapia was speaking to him:
"I, uh, I found a couple of bottles laying around in my classroom, but I don't know quite what's written on them. Taking all precautions and whatnot, I don't want to open them without knowing what's in them." Smiling kindly, the portly woman stepped inside, glancing back and forth at the Eagle and the Lion. "Unless I'm... Am I interrupting something and should perhaps come back at a later time?"
David raised his eyebrows in surprise. “Bottles with strange symbols? Sounds to be right up my alley, Professor.” He said with a small smile. He was sorely tempted to ask her to step in to the matter with the students in front of him, but they had come to him specifically and he didn’t know if they wanted to take this full out. Perhaps they had just wanted some advice. He didn’t want to betray their confidences in him. Before he could say anything else, a Slytherin student entered:
" 'Scuse me, Professors. " He said with a short nod to Professor Tapia and Professor Pierce. He walked into the classroom as he said this and made his way over to Felicity and Drew.
Another student? It looked to David as if he was in this mess with the other two, and now the number was up to three. That settled it in his mind. He looked back to Professor Tapia, standing from his desk to survey the number of people in the small office. “Actually, Professor, I think you may be able to help us with a situation that’s arisen.” He said seriously, glancing down at Felicity and Drew and giving them an apologetic look. He felt as if he’d ratted them out, but at the same time he knew that it needed to be done.

"Wait, Celina's still there?" Drew asked, notsure if he should be worried for his friend's safety or pissed that she had stayed instead of backing them up and walking out as well. Then again, it was Celina. Drew wasn't sure she'd stand up to an authority figure like that.
The knowledge that she was left behind bothered him, but he had thought Connor would make watch out for her. It was some comfort to know that Alfonz would kill anyone who hurt the Ravengirl, but that still didn't alieve Drew's guilt about bolting without her.
The good news was it sounded like Professor Pierce believed them. Maybe it wasn't too late to get Celina out of there.

Right up his alley indeed if he was the correct Professor the woman was looking for and she was damn sure he was. Seventh floor, right where the office always used to be located, the castle hadn't changed so much she couldn't remember where a few rooms were here and there about the stone walls. And before the man had a chance to answer beyond the bottles with symbols being in his line of work, another of her top students practically pushed on by them to enter the room without so much of a wait for the man to let him answer.
Raising her eyebrows, Desideria looked down at the boy, not really ever having noticed who he associated with. Though, with her sixth year class being so small this year, it was no real surprise he didn't have much of a choice on who to choose to sit with. Four students, one table.
Looking back to the man as he continued to speak, Desideria wondered just what type of situation had arisen. Two boys, one girl. If Mr. Manning had not entered, Desideria would have been left with few choices of what type of situation it could've been, but with Mr. Manning involved.
"Very well," she answered, stepping further in. "What may I 'elp with?"

Watching Connor turn, Felicity's eyes once more traced back to where the Potions Professor stood nearly in the doorway, expecting the Ravenclaw's friendly, but shy face to peak around the corner and let her know she was there. Maybe Connor had dragged her out of the room, away from the obviously, short-tempered man and along the way to the Professor's office (though Felicity momentarily wondered how Connor had known where she and Drew would be) Celina had gotten caught up somewhere and told him to go along and she'd catch right up.
Shifting in her seat, the blonde's neck stretched a bit, trying to look around the potions professor to see her best friend. Where was she?
And then the snake turned back to her and Felicity knew but couldn't believe it. He'd just left her there. Did he think she'd really take off on her own, that she'd be all right in that room with that man that Drew had just confided threw a book across the room? No, he couldn't have. There was no way he was dumb enough to leave the Eagle behind.
Or she hoped there was no way until he confirmed Celina was still back in that room, with that man.
"You...you..." Felicity tried spitting out what she needed to say, only to fumble over her words as Drew asked what she was trying to. But even Drew didn't sound as panicked as she was feeling. Maybe they didn't know Celina very well? Maybe Celina hadn't confided in them that she wouldn't miss a class, amongst a number of other things.
"YOU LEFT HER THERE?!?" Felicity accused, questioning the boy's actions. Disbelief swept over her face as she tried to fathom how in the world he thought she'd be all right, or that she'd leave on her own. "YOU JUST LEFT HER?!"
Yes, Felicity had left, but the man was all ready changing his lesson into a lecture, and she'd left before he threw a book. Felicity figured her friend would be fine with Connor and Drew there, but Drew had left, and then Connor...and he didn't take her with him?
"Wait..." Felicity said, suddenly very calmly, maybe, possibly... "Did anyone else enter after Drew left?" Maybe Celina wasn't alone.

Why did everything have to happen in History of Magic? His snapping at Celina, leaving her behind. Both situations involved Celina and made Connor look bad. Why he was worrying about appearances at that exact moment, he couldn't really know. He shoved these thoughts further back in his mind and turned his attention to the matter at hand. ' You...you... ' His eyes shied away from the Gryffindor's, he didn't want to see how she was feeling at the moment.
But it appeared that she would be informing him whether he liked it or not. Her screaming was rather alarming, and for a second Connor thought she might jump out of her seat and smack him around. He knew she wouldn't, but really... women were scary when they yelled, and Felicity was no exception to the rule. " She can take care of her herself, you know. She's not some little child that needs attending to. " He muttered back softly. Did he know if what he said was true? No, not at all. But he felt the need to defend himself from the girl's accusations. He knew he hadn't thought it through, he realized it. Why did she have to give him crap for something he already felt bad for?
As she opened her mouth again, Connor expected to hear more screaming directed at him, so he was shocked to hear her voice very calm as she went on. He shook his head at her question, but then answered, " Not that I know of. " his own voice was a little stronger as he spoke now.

"Very well," she answered, stepping further in. "What may I 'elp with?"
David picked his wand up from the desk, flicking it quickly to clear some of the clutter from the floor and creating more space for the many people that had gathered in his office. It wasn't that he was embarrassed about the state of his space, he was just the type of person to always make sure guests were comfortable. Technically, they were all his guests.
He stepped around his desk and past the students so he was standing next to Professor Tapia, crossing his arms not defensively, but in contemplation. "Apparently," he started, pausing to try and grasp the right words. "There was a problem in the History of Magic class. From what these students have told me, Professor Griffiths threatened a student." He said the last part reluctantly. He believed Drew and the other students, but he was remiss at what it implied of Alex. He would not, however, let that interfere with what needed to be done.
"YOU LEFT HER THERE?!? YOU JUST LEFT HER?!"
David jumped at Felicity's outburst, turning with wide eyes to face her. He hadn't heard the girl speak much since he'd met her, so it was a shock to hear her yelling.
"Left who where?" he asked in confusion, looking from the students to Professor Tapia as if she somehow knew what they were talking about.

No, Celina wasn't a child that needed attending to, but she couldn't very well take care of herself in a number of situations. She and Celina had had this particular discussion before, the professor was male and an authoritative figure. Celina wouldn't go against that, not without some pushing and prodding. How could Connor think Celina could do it on her own? It wasn't that simple, really it wasn't. There were so many things it involved and Celina wouldn't be able to handle herself unless the situation really got out of hand. But she'd been left there, all alone.
Distress filled her eyes as she lookedat Connor, did he not actually realize that Celina was left alone with a madman? And that she wouldn't just get up and leave on her own accord? And that she wouldn't go against an authoritative figure unless there was something really wrong with the situation? What if he was still there yelling? Or what if he was throwing things around? Celina wouldn't leave. She'd still sit there and wait for the lesson...
The reappearance of the professor by his desk and his voice startled the lioness and she jumped nearly out of her chair, but the disappointment of him not knowing of another student in the classroom bothered her. He just left her.
"Celina's alone in the classroom still."

"He threatened all of us," Drew clarified, twisting around to look over his shoulder at the the professors and eventually getting to his feet. Being there with Felicity and Connor, having Professor Pierce belive them, made him a little more confident about filling Tapia in on the situation. Still, it didn't fix the fact that Celina was still in there, alone with that man. Sure, she was a big girl, but Drew still wasn't confident that she could take care of herself as Connor seemed to believe.
"Celina's still there," Drew said firmly, echoing Felicity's statement. He was frustrated with himself for leaving her behind, but had thought she'd be okay if Connor was there. "The guy was really angry when we left. We have to get her out of there."

Neverminding the hushed discussion between the students, or at least trying to, Desideria paid closer attention to the Professor to find out what was going on that he needed her opinion on the matter. She was a new teacher, not even a year into teaching, and she was being brought into something? How fun. And a professor threatening a student of all things? Much fun indeed.
It was quite obvious that Griffiths was the History of Magic Professor, by the way this man introduced him, but Desideria hadn't ever met the man. About the only other Professors she had met and shared a few words with were Annemarie and Morey, neither of which she really spent much time with. Her office was in the dungeons, right where her experiments took place, she had no reason to travel out of there except during meals and it wasn't often she could be found then either. Sometimes to the library, but still not often.
But for a case of threats, wasn't going to Tamis the best of routes? Or what of Fauna? Though, she supposed dealing with the students to begin with was a good idea, but why hadn't they gone to one of the higher ups in the school? Perhaps all were unavailable to their knowledge?
However, before the portly woman had a chance to think more about what the Professor told her, Miss Hjort began screaming at Mr. Manning. What in the world had the boy done? Something about leaving someone somewhere, a pet perhaps?
And then it made sense.
Miss Hjort and Miss Jedynak, an almost inseparable pair, much like the conjoined twins in her first year class, a shudder went down her spine. Miss Jedynak did seem to be missing, but surely the young miss knew enough to leave if someone was being threatening? Though, if Desideria remembered hearing correctly, it was Jedynak that apparently turned her friend over in January. Most of the news was hush-hush as it seemed the Gryffindor hadn't wanted anyone to know about what happened, but she'd been warned far beforehand of teaching the class to keep an eye on the two students.
"Miss Jedynak's in the 'Istory of Magic class still? And with the Professor who threatened a student? Did he threaten Jedyank?" If so, then why had the left her there?

Connor looked briefly to the two Professors still standing next to the door way. Why had Drew and Felicity decided to come here? It was so far away from the History of Magic classroom. Connor didn’t even know the one new professor… Mr. Pierce was his name. He was, however, familiar with Professor Tapia as she was both the Hufflepuff head of house as well as the potions teacher. She was an excellent one at that, really knew what she was talking about. He watched the discussion between the two adults for a second or two before his eyes turned back to his classmates.
’ Celina's alone in the classroom still. ‘ Connor nodded his head lightly. He felt a small headache coming on and thought maybe it wasn’t a good idea to follow Drew and Felicity up here. He all but ignored Drew’s statement, feeling a little sick in the stomach as the mentioned going down and getting her. It didn’t sound like a good idea, even if they had some professors come with them. The man hadn’t said anything at all to Celina, only to them three.
He looked back up to Professor Tapia as she spoke again. ‘ Did he threaten Jedyank? ‘ He shook his head, stating, “ She was the only one he didn’t mention anything to about opposing him. “ He wanted to add in how the man had just thrown him into the group against him. Connor hadn’t said a word against the man to make him think that he would opposing him, and yet he had been slumped into the group. Go figure it was the head boy and Gryffindor prefect that started the trouble. Connor was angry, and he knew he wouldn’t be thinking such things about Celina’s friends if he weren’t so upset. The idea of leaving still was there.

“Celina Jedyank,” he echoed softly, trying to put the name with a face. It sounded so familiar, and it made him think of light… Suddenly it snapped in his head. Yes, of course! The Ravenclaw girl from his level two class who had a more than a little talent for rune casting. She seemed timid to David; she’d been uneasy when he had passed to close to her desk, he could only imagine what she would do in the kind of situation these students were describing.
David had wanted to ask Professor Tapia what she thought the correct course of action would be – he’d only been teaching for one day, after all. What did he know about protocol for student/teacher conflicts? This was different, however, and David was inclined to believe that action should be taken immediately. He didn’t believe that Alex would harm a student, but he honestly believed what Drew and the others were saying. “I think this should be brought to the attention of the Headmistress,” he said, looking to Professor Tapia to see if the woman agreed, although he couldn’t see why she wouldn’t. “And I think that both Professor Griffiths and Miss Jedyank should be present, as well.” It was his immediate action plan – get the Ravenclaw girl out of what could be a dangerous situation, which would placate both the students in front of him and his own worry for the girl, then go to the Headmistress and let her sort it out. The students would need to go because they were witnesses, and obviously Alex would need to be there as he was the one they were accusing of these actions.

"But the three of you apparently opposed the man in his classroom?" the woman asked Mr. Manning. Otherwise, they'd be in the class, true? It didn't surprise her that Jedynak hadn't "opposed" of the man, it didn't seem in the girl to do something like that, then again, who was she to judge? She didn't know the girl any. And if the three opposed of the professor, what had they done to cause him to threaten them? Or were they causing more trouble by saying he threatened them. However, thinking about it, with their positions on the line for something like that it wouldn't make sense for them to be spilling lies.
"I must agree," Desideria nodded her head at the newer professor. "Going to the 'Eadmistress would be the best course of action, which brings me to another question, why didn't you three go to 'er first?" It didn't make much sense. Why would two Prefects and the Head Boy go to a new professor over the Headmistress, or the Deputy? "But, I think it might be best to speak to Professor Raynor about this first before bringing in the other two."
Countering the man's suggestion. Perhaps allow the three to speak to the woman alone before asking the other two to put their input forward? Or would it be best to have all five present at the beginning. All she could see was incessant bickering if that was the case, though, she really didn't know.

Drew didn't remember Connor opposing the man any, but even so, he wasn't sure exactly how much opposition Felicity and he himself had done either.
"Connor didn't really say anything and Felicity and I just really wanted to know why we had to change our robes for the lesson," Drew said, looking over at the Gryffindor to see if he had gotten her part of the situation correct. "We questioned that one thing and he said if we didn't do it, he'd make the change himself only permenantly."
Why they hadn't gone to the Headmistress was a whole 'nother story. Neither Drew nor Felicity had much confidence in the woman, Felicity even less than he, and while Drew might have gone ahead and gone to Raynor anyway, he had thought this course of action was a better option.
"They're really busy," he said, not really lying, but not fully explaining his complete reasons. "We came here mostly ... for advice, I guess." And apparently the advice was to go to the Headmistress. Drew wasn't sure how Felicity would respond to that.

Nodding at Drew, that was all Felicity had wanted to know. Why did she have to change her robes for a History class? In muggle school they had to change for physical education, but Hogwarts didn't have that as a class and she'd never been required to change her clothing for any other class, so why did she have to for this man's class? It just didn't sound right, and then him threatening to change her robes for her, that really didn't sound right.
But with the suggestion of them going to Raynor, Felicity's back tightened. Why did they have to go to that horrid woman? What was wrong with just going to someone of higher power that could deal with the situation and leave Felicity alone and away from their lovely Headmistress? She couldn't stand the woman and every time she turned around it seemed someone was pushing her to go talk to the woman.
And when Drew gave an explanation, Felicity slightly flinched. It wasn't technically a lie, but at the same time, it was one. Though they were there for advice and if the advice was to go to Raynor, Felicity would let Connor and Drew bother with the woman and she'd go find Celina.
