After the painful experience known as the school dance had ended Hiro walked with his date to the room of requirement. As promised the room was set up for a romantic dinner for two, candle light, plates with covers keeping the contents warm, a table cloth covering the square table and two seats opposite of each other. However this was not meant for her, Charlie was to join Hiro for this evening and although the 'welcome back Charlie' banner that was removed from the original blueprints the place seemed very welcoming.
All his research had pointed to some form of possession and now it was time to get rid of the parasitic spirit. Hiro's only hope was that this former person didn't know the art of occlumency for Hiro wasn't even a rookie in legilimency. The only thing he had going for him were what the books said and his natural talents in psychic attributes. (And no the writer didn't make this up for this event I have made references to it in much older threads). The problem with his plan is that he had one shot with it and he had never practiced this before, mind reading was harshly restricted and could mean a one way ticket to Azkaban.
(Closed, I figured with best way to exorcise without being a priest is the battle of wills during a mind reading)

Charlotte had never seen such a room like this. It seemed to house all of the one's desires and work it from there. She had wished she could have found this room beforehand, or else it would made this Hogwarts place a bit more enjoyable. Alas, the days came and went and she was ready to leave-- leave for the mainland Europe, that is. No fanfare was included, but at least she could leave with a nice little dinner from the boy she would break up with before dessert was served. Or earlier-- she wasn't sure. Whenever her whim came around, she would do it. Perhaps when things would wind down.
No worries, she thought to herself. It would all end nicely anywho. For her, at least.
Charlie wasn't in control of anything at this point. The most she could do was be there, only hoping this night would be over with. Despite any kind of status her spririt was in, she would never admit that she hurt by what she saw. It made her angry for the most part, yes, but she didn't want to distinguish the secondary feeling. It was just another thing to make her feel more vulnerable than she already was. Instead, she would have rathered toughened up. She had plans of her own, anyway.
"This is... great," Charlotte said with a positive tone, but she secretly found it quaint. Below her status, whatever that would be. "I don't know what to say." Well, she did (she always did), but it wasn't the right time to say.

"Great...yes but not quite perfect." Hiro replied. The door was closed and they were alone, no chance of being disturbed, it was the perfect moment. He held her arms firm enough to keep her still but not hurt her. Face to face they stood, the mask's illusionary eye staring into hers. Though the eye didn't allow him to see the impostor knew without a doubt that he was staring directly into her eyes. His face was blank, not even noticeable when compared to the piercing stare.
NOW! Hiro was crossing the borders and he couldn't turn back if he wanted to.

"Probably not," she said with her fake laugh, "I'm sure at the end of the night it will be all perfect." She didn't know what to do from there, not especially when she didn't know what was really going on. In fact, the most she could do at that moment when he had his grasp on her was just be a little uncomfortable. "I suppose you can help me with my seat?" she asked, thinking it would be like those moments that came with the romantic dinners.

Had he been better at the whole legilimency thing he might have been able to act normally while trying. However this was his first time and he didn't want to take any chances, especially since his friend was on the line if he failed. He could hear her speaking but what she said was anyone's guess, he was too lost in thought. At least she hadn't started struggling yet.
Confusion, that's what he felt. What was he doing? But this wasn't his normal feeling. Hiro knew what he was doing, he was freeing his friend. So there was no reason to be confused about what he was doing right?
Yes he was sure he was doing it right because he didn't remember feeling jealous that the spotlight wasn't on him at the dance. It had to be her memories that he was tapping, the only problem was figuring out how to make her leave. Hiro had no real control over where he went, the next thing he knew memories of flirting with Nic came up, then taking Hiro to the hospital wing after the fight. Hiro figured that if he could find a memory that was clearly Charlie's that would be a start.

There was something new going on. Charlie could feel it. It seemed that the advantage being cast into something like the subconscience was that she could feel these things first, and it was telling her that this wasn't necessarily for Charlotte's good. Well, if that was the truth... then why not?
Just the same she all of a sudden started to play into what Hiro was seeing. To be careful, Charlie didn't let herself react to what she saw as well. The tidbits she never got to see and didn't wish to again. But whatever was going on, these memories weren't it. They seemed to be passed by, and it was perfectly fine with her. This being here could see what she once saw.
Four months ago. She brushed her teeth, washed her face, did all the mundane routines of the bathroom like it was not going to affect her at all. Her qudditch gear was already on except for some socks. But like a creepy clockwork, she remembered the door opening. It was her brother, Mike. "Tam left your crap on my bed again," he had said before proceeding to hit her square in the head. This was what Charlie wanted to show this being; the day that felt like the last day on earth. The day her brother betrayed her.

This was so much harder than he could've ever imagined it. He felt like he was in rapids without a paddle...or even boat. Just jumping from thought to thought with no order. The impostor's surface thoughts kept him from finding Charlie's thoughts. Brushing her teeth, designing a mask, getting ready for the ball, was that a quidditch uniform? No she was trying to choose a dress for the dance. All the time a feeling of betrayal.
Why betrayal? No one had destroyed her trust during any of these simple activities. Was he getting two memories at the same time? That would surely throw a monkey wrench into his plan, he didn't even know how to handle one memory.
CHARLIE! He called with his mind, not even sure his thoughts could reach wherever he was. He needed the impostor to release Charlie again like at the dance. He was sure she'd be able to help guide him through the chaos.

Charlie felt tense at the sound of her mind. This person knew her. And in fact.... it was Hiro. She didn't want to say anything, though. No. Instead, she tried her hand at something farther into the past. Perhaps something that Hiro could understand.
Before they could get to part where Mike had silenced her before blacking out, she shifted to months before that. This should help, she accidently thought, but made no move to panic. Instead, she just watched what she could conjure. The little bamboo trap that had incidently trapped them in both senses. They talked, but the part she could hear at last was Hiro's confession to her. Followed by her freezing up.

A small part of him wondered why a girl would wear make-up to a masquerade when there was a glimpse of what he was looking for. Though his physical form didn't move his image reached out to try and grasp what was in front of him, only for the finger trap to be replaced with lipstick.
"NO!" Hiro was so close, he remembered the feeling, he had been there with Charlie and now was drawn back to that night. The sinking feeling of anticipation, the confusion from his own words...an out of place sense of violence. With new determination he finally had a minuscule amount of control. He had literally made the impostor move on from the memory of getting ready. Though it wasn't the memory he wanted he had forced her into another train of thought...
(as far as quotes go this is inside, to the observer Hiro's just staring) (also if you want to send Hiro into any other of Amber's thoughts go ahead, I'm just keeping with what I know)

Most likely to Hiro and Charlie, it felt like a good while, but it was a few seconds in reality when Charlotte looked up at him in confusion at his outburst. And then she got a little mad. "And why not?" She was a bit offended that he wasn't going to help her into her seat. Instead, she tried to get out of his grasp. "I don't think that was funny. Not one bit," she told him.
In that while, a strong wave for a memory came and it was the meeting with the man in Hog's Head, the two were exchanging words and she mentioned her name as Amberli Mortimer. Of course, not before asking to get out of Europe first. And soon. Charlie could vaguely remember this, especially since Amber had a tendency to go back to it in anticipation. But she wanted to turn it to something of her own. Maybe.... one of the times she was yelling to everyone in her qudditch team. This had obviously been last term since Daniel Jackson was there and so was Reina Diablo, most likely shouting back at Charlie. Anything, just any memory? she wondered to him.

Again she was talking but it wasn't anything to pay attention to. When she started to struggle though that's when Hiro reacted. He held on tighter, he couldn't let her go now he was so close and this was his last chance.
Especially since he just found out that Amberli was planning to leave to Europe. Hiro payed close attention to the man's voice, he might be the one behind this and if he heard this voice again he'd curse him without mercy. The man's voice morphed into a more familiar one, Jack or Dan...Jackson that was it! And Reina, Amberli wouldn't have known Reina. He wasn't even sure if his thoughts could reach her, it may have just been a one way path but Hiro called to her with his mind "Help me fight her!"

Help him? This was him, after all, right? She couldn't tell what she wanted to do. Perhaps just go to the last resort, but in the end what was it worth without trying? She couldn't stand to just be there any longer, but neither did she want to be idle in what could be a chance of a lifetime. Her lifetime.
"What the hell, Hiro?" The imposter protested, but could not move from his grasp. "Yo-You're hurting me!" She continued to complain although the pain wasn't the least of her worries. He was acting weird, and she wasn't going to detect the invasion in the midst of her own panic. Not yet, especially when she had never had this happen to her before. "Hi-Hiro! We're through!"
I'm going to try! Charlie thought and anxiously looked to find anything to help him find. She put forth the times they had class, the times she was in her room back at home, and times she was with him. The next step was overtaking Amber again so that she could get control and perhaps even get her mind more open for Hiro. She knew she got weak from her attempts with Amber before, but it would take more than before. Except this would mean that Amber would be aware of something like this.
Amber was still struggling to get away from Hiro, but she was beginning to feel like she was succumbing to something. "The bit--" She was going through the withdrawl of power as the ambush from Charlie came forth to seize it. It was a sudden and to Charlie's advantage, but Amber wasn't going to leave her with it.
Charlie was close enough to her own mind and set her sights on crumbling the walls that kept things guarded. It had to come from the feeling of being free. While she wasn't feeling that in her, she had to conjure it, and it was starting to help when she was sure of getting the feeling she got when she worked on her broom alone. Uninhibited. Hurry! she cried out to Hiro.

Hiro had made it! It had to be Charlie, she was sending everything she had to him. Now that he had located her he needed to turn his attention to her captor. On the outside she was struggling more she'd be out the door in a moment if he gave even a little bit of ground. It was time to finish this panic attack with a thunderous blow.
"Get out Amberli!" This time Hiro said what he thought hoping to add both his physical voice and a voice in her head which should send her away with so much fear that she'd never try this again. "You can no longer hurt my friends!"

In between the two spirits in one body, Amber could understand him in each sense. He knew. For how long? The shock of finding out brought her to confusion as everything seemed to reverberate. Works? is all Charlie could muster until Amber came in again. "This body is mine now," she said as she seemed to bounce back into her own character and composure again. "You will not get in my way, Hiro."
Charlie was beginning to feel the disappointment as she could tell that this would require more and more work. It would be practically backbreaking. "Shut it, Amber," she could say to the spirit. "He's not the only one!" She desperately wanted to edge her out, but in what sense could she do it? This wouldn't be easy.

She had great resilience Hiro had to give her that. If he had voices in his head he'd be a little more freaked out...wait he did have voices in his head. Hiro was fighting her both physically and mentally though it was a fight that he might lose, Merlin knows how many years more of experience she had over him or if she had done this before.
"This body was never yours!" Hiro replied angrily. "Charlie's been there the whole time, she just needed a path!"
Charlie find pain. Hiro knew she liked to be in the spot light due to the dance vision so he was digging for a time she was ignored or left out.
